Challenge 10

 

I'm back after some challenges with lack of resources to complete them !

John Wick ........ with his Glock 34
Blade Runner 2042 ........ with his Blaster
Drive ...... with his hammer
Inglorious Basterds ....... with baseball bat
Hacksaw Ridge.... with his Colt 45

For me the best weapons in movies are the ones that have a different main use such as the baseball bat or the hammer or others such as Wick's pencil or a plastic bag, these tools are much more chilling than a conventional gun.

My submission for Challenge 10.

Back again after skipping the last one (I don't own any scores/music on physical media). My picks for the 5 different handheld weapons are:

• Solo - Han Solo's blaster
• Revenge of the Sith - Anakin's lightsaber
• Halloween - Michael Myers' kitchen knife
• Thor Love and Thunder - Thor's stormbreaker
• The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Leatherface's chainsaw

My favorite hero's handheld weapon is probably Thor's Mjolnir. It's just a classic design and obviously incredibly rich in lore and power.

 

My favorite villain's handheld weapon is Vader's Lightsaber. It's iconic and memorable and also laser swords are cool.

Movie favourite Bad Guy:

One the least effective weapons a bad guy can have in his or her hands is a Kryptonite Spear, that is unless you’re Kal-El 🟢

Good guy:

I can’t get past the lightsaber for my good guys 🔵

**UPDATE**  I have a challenge for next week 😉

 

Aware only needed 5 but sneaked an extra steel in just in case any of the others were not allowed!

I am not expert on weapons so please be lenient if any of these are horrendously incorrect lol. 😅

Favourite weapon used by a hero - very close between Dredd's Lawgiver and Constantine's Holy Shotgun.... but Dredd wins as it is so darn versatile and especially like the nifty finger print recognition if someone other than the specific Judge tries to use it!

 

Villain - Darth Vader's red lightsaber in either Empire Strikes Back or the marvellous Rogue One. Vicious and efficient yet also one might say - stylish.

Sneaking this one in just before heading out on vacation tonight. See you all in 2 weeks!

 

Favorite hero weapon probably has to be Luke's lightsaber. Im sure part of it was the age I first saw those movies, but just don't know the last time I reacted that way to the introduction of a weapon in any universe. So much awe and reverence is given to the lightsabers all through the franchise. They are almost their own characters within those movies which is so unique.

 

 

Favorite baddy weapon is going to the Zorg ZF-1...

4. Holy Shotgun

5. Not sure which is more deadly, the giant gun, or Michelle Rodriguez with that sucker

I like all three of Arnies big weapons in T2.  Chain gun for when he first sees it and it’s just OTT, grenade launcher just because…. And the smoke grenade launcher I think because I always like the sound it made when he fired it.  Could pick that sound out from an audio clip easily.

 

 

 

 

As for villains weapons… so much fun. T1000 various stabby stabby!  Freddie’s glove and always loved the Borg.  Was going to add Infinity Gauntlett but already gone way over the one for each.

• Weapon 1: Tom Cruise weapon in "Edge of tomorrow". I don't know the name, but I love that it's attached to the hand and that it's so forceful.
• Weapon 2: The sword "Excalibur" is an inalienable classic among weapons.
• Weapon 3:  That Anton Chigurh weapon, so strange, so crazty, so hilarious, so efective. It's my favourite!  
• Weapon 4: The guns of Pulp Fiction with a so big Travolta & Jackson. In fact, their arguments -even over butter- are another good weapon... but to distract.
• Weapon 5: Since I was a kid I have been surprised by how dangerous electric saws can be. In the town they always told me: be careful if you are near, or you can cause a disaster. And maybe Leatherface thought the same.

Dirty Harry May have been the toughass San Francisco cop who had the most powerful handgun , the mighty S&W model 29 .44 Magnum but then in 1985 New York vigilante architect Paul Kersey aka tough guy Charles Bronson out gunned Dirty Harry with His .475 calibre Wildey Automag..which was used successfully to eradicate some rather nasty gang members…in Death Wish 3 ..and the gun used in the movie was actually his own personal weapon .. at the time it was the most powerful handgun and a real beast of a weapon … 

 

• Villain Weapon  - Savage looking Knife with spikes 
• This is also going back to the eighties and 1986 brought us Sylvester Stallone and Cobra .. the baddie in this one The Night Slasher played by Brian Thomson used a blade that was designed for one thing … to kill .. still a favorite of mine after all these years … 

 

So hopefully thats enough to earn the first stage Award … thx @extantsrevenge for this finale to the first round…

Week 10 already of this challenge  and dealing with the phone to add pictures 

 

 

So Favourite weapon  used by either  a Villan OR Hero has to be a 

 

Shotgun something is right in a film when a shotgun is used to good effect . From pump action to single barrel you can not go wrong with a shotgun. 

 

                     2nd Favourite 

 

I like a decent  Axe in whatever  form , again used right it either makes me roar with glee or cover my wince and make my toes curl depending on who's using it on whom .

 

Now for my pick of the hand held witch both of the above choices  are used to fabulous effect  in each movie 

 

 

The Chronicles Of Riddick   ( extended cut hence this cover and artwork , no other cut is worth watching or owning in my lowly opinion) his matching pair of Ulak blades are just sublime  on the step one kill one sequence. 

 

 

Pathfinder  Metalpack  A piece of history that has been proven to be true  that Vikings found the American content centuries before Christopher Columbus a cracking watch . Swords at the ready .

 

The Hitcher NEVER EVER EVER Pick up a hitch hiker almost 40 years old and still as effective today at deterring picking up a random at the side of the road  . Rutger nailing the use of a shotgun to perfection. 

 

Mandy For me this IS the best performance I have seen Nicholas  Cage give . Totally off the chain and not only  him

Going batshit with custom  Axe a chainsaw too YES PLEASE  .

 

The Batman  now this is a big statement from me having this set , I don't like Patterson , Farnell Or Kravits , yet yes I know I got this set . Patterson  to me is almost as good as Keaton as The Bat . The movie  is  2nd to Batman returns  then Keaytons Batman . This batterang embost debost plate is to die for . I feel less bad now as I had not seen The Batman until after the Manta GB closed so this eases that pain a tiny bit. 

 

Anyway  I again I hope my submissions make the grade .

Now what are my favorites?…Great question. I swear when you have the option of picking anything suddenly your brain blanks and you have no options. 
 

Favorite hero weapon is maybe Indiana Jones’ whip. Always loved him growing up and daydreamed about having one of my own. 
 

For villains I think I’ve gotta go for either Darth Maul’s lightsaber, or Count Dooku’s lightsaber. The double blade of Maul’s was just epic back in the day, and still remains dope, but the curve in Dooku’s handle scratched some itch in me for being different than every other lightsaber. 
 

These favorites said, I’ll probably end up thinking of some other weapon I like more just randomly, because I swear I just can’t think of any right now.
