  1. it has been some time since i joined the challenges but i am getting back to it. Challenge 38 - "Are You Excited Yet?" i will skip the obvious choices like dune 2, deadpool 3, alien: romulus, godzilla vs kong 2 etc and mention three movies from different genres that may not be the first choice for most of the moviegoers. bob marley: one love i love music films. not saying musicals (but even those are fine and sometimes fantastic) but films where the focus on musis is extremely strong especially if they are directly connected with the film itself (almost famous, rudderless, begin again, pirate radio...) or if the music is done by the one artist (into the wild) and it is always a pleasure to listen to the music separately. additionally, the music of bob marley always brings me positive vibes and summer holiday comes to my mind. obviously its "one love" 🙂 the fall guy mixing the action and funny films can work perfectly (lethal weapon to name one example only) but it is often a miss. but i hope that the combination of ryan gosling, emily blunt and aaron taylor-johnson may work under the direction of david leitch. at least i hope it will be as good as his previous film - bullet train. the bikeriders as soon as i have seen the synopsis and the first photos, great tv series sons of anarchy came to my mind. and i was hooked... tom hardy is long time star and austin butler is the star in the making. i only have one question mark here - will i enjoy a film by jeff nichols? none of his films has clicked with me completely so i hope that it will happen this time. if the films will be good enough for me, i dont really care which retailer will release them. the only thing i want is not to wait for the release for many months or years....
  2. i have recieved two packages some time ago and now i found some time to show it here. @Masterblaster great thank you for these films from group buys: edge of tomorrow (bn - double lenticular) the prestige (mantalab - fullslip) the prestige (mantalab - lenticular) the different package contained a few 4k steelbooks from hungary (they contain czech audio on 4k): mission: impossible mission: impossible 2 mission: impossible 3 mission: impossible 4 elvis
  3. challenge 34 - days of future past quiet place 1 - 2018, set in 2021 2012 - 2009, set in 2012 real steel - 2011, set in 2020 de lorean should be interesting to see the past (and maybe future...) times. not to change anything, just to see the world.
  4. challenge 32 - the sticky end t2 - arnold's terminator gladiator - maximus braveheart - william wallace ford vs ferrari - ken miles the untouchables - jim malone special mention ;-( avengers endgame - tony stark
  5. thanks, @R1s1ngs0n , for this family challenge. the curious case of benjamin button - brad pitt and his daughter shiloh jolie-pitt (2 years old at that time) hot shots 2 - as i dont have "wall street", i chose this one that has short scene of charlie sheen with his father martin sheen ("i loved you in wall street" :-D) a quiet place 2 - john krasinski as the director and actor, his wife emily blunt as the actress corpse bride - tim burton as director, his wife helena bonham carter as actress (you could chose form many films from these two) gone baby gone - ben affleck is directing his brother casey affleck there are many great on-screen/off-screen couples and each day i would probably choose somebody else. anyway, the couple that is quite fascinating are celine (julie delpy) and jesse (ethan hawke) from "before sunrise" trilogy) as their relationship develops over 3 films and many years.
  6. nice challenge, @ethnosax first of all (so i would not forget in the end...) - i have never fallen asleep in the cinema. at home? this is entirely different story 😄 but at home i am able to get back to the film the next day, right? and to the challenge. there are plenty of movies that are long but are between 2 hours 45 minutes and 3 hours long. so not good. when i checked some films, i found out one strange thing that might have negative effect on other psychos... wolf of wall street was shown the time 180 minutes. BUT when i put it to the player, the lenght was only 2:59:30!! this time should be rounded to 180 minutes (= 3 hours) but technically it is NOT longer than 3 hours. sorry to everybody 😄 so i checked all films in my selection to check the correct lenght and i ended up with these: zack snyders justice league - somehow my xbox refused to play disc 1 (and i watched it couple of months ago...) so i dont know the exact time, but it should be like 4:02:00 jfk - 3:25:49 hobbit 1 - 3:02:30 hobbit 2 - 3:06:35 bruce springsteen and the e street band - live in new york city - 3:14:12
  7. here are my steelbooks for stage 2 🙂 thanks for consideration.
  8. thanks @cypheria078 i used this challenge as the opportunity to show films that would hardly be shown in other challenges. here they are: senna chaplin the darkest hour changelling public enemies
  9. what a nice challenge @extantsrevenge! i was considering which villains should i choose. firstly, i was thinikng about the best villains from my point of view like darth vader (btw, this is the BEST VILLAIN EVER), heath ledger's joker, sauron from LOTR, t-1000 from T2, alien, thanos, predator, hans gruber, hans landa from tarantino's basterds, hans from frozen etc. (btw, why are so many bad guys called hans?? 🤣) but these villains will be here multiple times and i showed most of the editions already. then i was thinking about different kind of villains, like bruce the white shark from jaws, asteroid from armageddon, weather (caused by people) in the day after tomorrow, church in spotlight, public in jagten (the hunt) etc. but here the villains may not be so concrete. so in the end i ended up with the villains that may nor appear here often and in most cases, i havent showed these films yet (i believe....): owen davian played by phenomenal philip seymour hoffman from M:I 3 (the best M:I film i think) doc ock played by alfred molina from spider-man 2 as i still believe that this is the best spider-man film david harken (kevin spacey), julia harris (jennifer aniston), bobby pellit (colin farrell) from horrible bosses as most of us have some experience with these bosses/villains. and this is very funny to watch jordan belford played by leonardo dicaprio from the wolf of wall street who was manipulator and thief who used fraud to steal money from ordinary people. anyway, the film itself is extremely entertaining idi amin played by fantastic forest whitaker from the last king of scotland. there is probably no need to talk why he is the villain, especially when he was the real person, no fictional character. and this is sad...
  10. interesting challenge, @InfiniteDoors. i tried to find the films without "E" letter at all on the front side. i needed a small help from the movies without any text of the front side or films with just number in the name. i also wanted to avoid films with one word title as much as possible. here they are: sin city jurassic world dominion 2 guns fantastic mr fox 2012 world war z big fish pacific rim uprising solo a star wars story jumanji
  11. as the new challenge hasnt arrived yet, so i will try to complete the last one... this challenge was really touch for me @hal56. i know about some films that received the razzie, but i almost had none of them. so i needed to deep dive into the razzie archives to see the winners of the specific categories + my comments to them in italic :-) star wars episode 1 - worst supporting actor (ahmed best as voice of jar-jar binks) - totally deserved!!! star wars episode 2 - worst supporting actor (hayden christensen), worst screenplay (george lucas) - totally deserved star wars episode 3 - worst supporting actor (hayden christensen) - not so much deserved interview with the vampire - worst screen couple (tom cruise, brad pitt) - i really dont agree with this one armageddon - worst actor (bruce willis) - come on... really? this is a popcorn movie! btw, the song "i dont want to miss a thing" got the nomination for both awards - razzie and academy award transformers revenge of the fallen - worst director (michael bay), worst screenplay (ehren kruger, roberto orci, alex kurtzman), worst picture - ok, not a good movie, but still entertaining in some way baywatch - so rotten you loved it - and i totally agree with this one. it is bad but if i am in a good mood for this one, it is hilarious! i would go with transformers 2 as the film that doesnt deserve the award as the worst film. i explained the reason above.
  12. jurassic world dominion 4k steelbook (only to complete the collection as the movie was not good) reminiscence 4k steelbook (i really liked the noir feeling of the film)
