Happy New Year !

And Thanks to @Chief_lookout for Media Psychos Challenge #16: It's so hard to choose!

Reducing the favourite movies to 10 is "Mission Impossible" ! 😄

There are too many good movies out there and if you have sequels like Star Wars in mind, it gets 🤯

Okay, I reduced it to the movies I watched many times so far or if they have a special place in my heart so they might not be the best movies of the world but...for me ! ;)

So here's my "Top 10". There's no order because I dont have a real "No.1". Movies and genres are so different. Just in alphabetic order instead:

01. Alien (best alien/Sci-Fi filmology ever - but including Predator movies as well !)

02. Das Boot (best war/submarine movie ever !)

03. Jurassic Park (milestone of movie history)

04. Lord of the Rings (including Hobbit - just thrilling Fantasy)

05. Minions (including "Despicable Me") I found new friends with these funny little yellow beans. *g*

06. Naked Gun (Dont know how often I already saw this movie...everytime again entertaining and I still have to laugh)

07. Rambo (puh, what can I say...best I say nothing. Rambo speaks for himself. *g*)

08. Star Wars (especially Ep4-6 for me best Sci-Fi action movies)

09. Terminator (especially Part 1+2)

10. Tomb Raider (I loved the Playstation Game and played the parts for weeks and months and then a movie came out. Yes ! And of course I love Angelina Jolie 😍)

Which movie deserves a Premium ?

Puh, also hard to say which one deserves it most...there are (again) so many good movies but if I could decide I would be so glad if the (old) Star Wars Movies (Ep. 4-6) would be publishes as Premium perhaps by Blufans as they did with the other episodes. But due to Disney this may never happen. :(

And if it would not be Star Wars, then I would also be glad to see some history/war movies as Premium like "Kingdom of Heaven". 😎

1: The Shawshank Redemption

2: The Godfather

3: Schindler’s List

4: Pulp Fiction

5: Inception

6: Fight Club

7: Forrest Gump

8: The Matrix

9: Empire Strikes Back

10: Goodfellas

image.thumb.jpeg.05cdd9444358914e16624ca0c522398e.jpeg

As for what movies I would like to see a steelbook release it would have to be the following, The Departed, Scarface, Prisoners (THIS IS A MUST), Black Swan & every Transformers movie parts 1 - 5 and it would be nice if these could be released by Manta Lab.

Media Psychos Challenge #16: It's so hard to choose!

Thanks for this great challenge, @Chief_lookout!

Here are my top ten in order:

1. Gone Girl: a perfect mystery-thriller-satire package. I still watch this film religiously.
2. Tenet: to me, there's just something about watching things in reverse, and TENET is a true experience!
3. Her: pleasing aesthetic, breathtaking OST. I also like the fact that parts of the film were shot in Shanghai, China.
4. Inception: another-level mind-blowing film, a timeless classic.
5. Confessions 告白: an edgy Japanese schoolyard psychological thriller told in multiple perspectives. Shocking, powerful and cathartic to the core.

6. The Prestige: the whole film is literally an impressive magic act.
7. Hot Fuzz: a really engaging, fast-paced mystery comedy. My favourite out of the Cornetto Trilogy.
8. Everything Everywhere All at Once: This film got me laughing and crying at the same time. Literally feeling everything everywhere all at once. I would really like to see it get some Oscar wins!
9. Last Action Hero: an Arnold action comedy that is so meta I totally enjoyed.
10. Mulholland Drive: probably the most art-house choice in my top ten. A gorgeous Hollywood broken dream.

I am dying for a 4K or even Blu-ray steelbook release of True Lies! (Not in my top ten, but still one of my favourites)

Challenge #16

Yes, this really is a very difficult challenge because we love cinema very much and depending on the day and the mood, preferences can change a lot.

Here is my Top Ten (in no order or maybe yes...you never know how the unconscious acts).

1. Blade Runner

2. Shawshank Redemption

3. The Godfather

4. Tha Dark Knight

5. The Untouchables

6. The Shindlers´s List

7. Fight Club

8. Gladiator

9. Pulp Fiction

10. Avengers Infinity War

As for which film I would like to see in a premium edition right now it would be :

Django Unchained  (because it's a great film and because it's the only Tarantino film to complete the collection)

Come on Nomamedia !!! or MantaLab...

Also I would love to have an entirely premium Martin Scorsese collection :

GodFellas, The Wolf of Wall Street, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, The Aviator, Shutter Island, The Departen, Cape Fear, etc, etc...

I have Steelbooks of all these titles (except cape fear), at the moment, if I'm not mistaken, only Casino and Gangsters of New York are available as premium editions.

Thank you @Chief_lookout and @extantsrevenge for this weeks Challenge : It's so Hard to Choose!

My ten is not in order, as it was hard enough to choose just 10. A big thing for me is how rewatchable a film is, I may have loved the story, but that doesn't necessarily translate to rewatchable. The ten I picked, I could literally start watching again once the film was over.

1) the Thing (we all know this film, it's a masterpiece)

2) the Shining (my favorite horror film or all time)

3) True Romance (amazing writing by you know who, and Tony Scott knocks it out of the park, the cast is absolutely perfect. Can't say enough about this film)

4) Batman Begins (my favorite comic book movie and batman film, I also love the Tim Burtons flicks but Nolans Trilogy is the best)

5) Shawshank Redemption (Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman deliver some unforgettable performances here)

6) Inglourious Basterds (my favorite Tarantino film, this movie literally gets better with each watch. I also might be in love with Melanie Laurent)

7) Edge of Tomorrow (Live.Die.Repeat) Emily Blunt is amazing and carried around the heavy a$$ suit like a champ)

8) Mad Max : Fury Road (crazy and absolutely perfect)

9) I Saw the Devil (somehow this movie manages to keep me on the edge of my seat despite seeing it countless times)

10) the Witch (probably the best recent horror movie imo)

1570560897_IMG-856811165.thumb.jpg.d706ff596b5f78a9578f4b9e772bc992.jpg

1673591030_IMG-857111162.thumb.jpg.6fa7999d7782ea1ef6732d8854462c9f.jpg

I'd love to see I Saw the Devil get a Steelbook release, and even better, by Blufans or CMA (my two favs)

Love the list.   FYI, I Saw The Devil had a steel from Plain Archive, though it’s pricey in the secondary markets.

Thanks @raylight for our newest Challenge 17.

Thinking about Action Duo's the first thing that comes to my mind is Lethal Weapon. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are simply perfect.

Here is my picture for the challenge

Lethal Weapon 1-4, took out my DVD Set as it has acceptable covers not like these ugly Steelbook we got 😅

Bad Boys (especially love the first 1, so funny)

The Nice Guys, I wish they would have done a second, I thought it had a lot of potential.

Men in Black

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, not only is this one of the best Anime Series ever made, the Brother Duo of Edward & Alphonse Elric is one of the best Duos ever created. Sadly the Foil slips are not very good for making photos.

I showed these as the projects are conceptualised around the Duos, there are other great combos, but often they are not the main attraction of a feature.

I also really want a Premium for the Lethal Weapon Series, maybe we get lucky when the 5th movie is coming out this year. I'm hoping for a 4K release with awesome Steelbooks that also includes the Director Cuts.
