I just recently started to purchase some cool items I think would go with my favorite premiums. I don't have much but I do have 5.

@Mrdugan thanks for another cool challenge.

I'm a huge fan of alternative movie posters (especially those released by Mondo and Mad Duck Posters) and I also love premium playing cards, especially those from Theory11.

GOLDFINGER - original 18” x 34” print by Todd Slater (Mondo) + custom steelbook by the incomparable @BobaFett1974

@Mrdugan just to clarify.  I have many movie themed decks of cards, but for different movies (not all MCU, etc.).  Can we use the same type of item for different movies?  Say three mugs, one for a Disney movie, one for a Harry Potter movie, etc.  Or can we only use one type of item once, as in this case, one mug?

Alright, here's my second attempt.

I'm not sure if all these will count, though.

2. Angels With Filthy Souls VHS Tape - "Home Alone" (this one is a custom-made collectible, so not sure if it counts)

@Mrdugan which Rick and Morty steel is that? We wants it, precious!

It's the reverse of the Season 3 steelbook...which evidently is now a pricey steelbook. It was super common and cheap when released. I dont know why they didnt put pickle Rick on the front as he was the highlight of that season.

Yes, you can use the same item type for different franchises. So a card deck for Sorcerer's Stone, A New Hope, Lion King, Iron Man, and Fellowship of the Ring is acceptable but not a card deck for Sorcerers Stone, Chamber of Secrets, Prisoner of Azkaban, Goblet of Fire, and Order of the Phoenix is not. Would prefer as much variety as possible but at the same time dont want to completely restrict people especially if one specific collectible is your thing.

Loving everyone's collections and creativity! I'm surprised to see how many card decks there are though I now realize/remember that I also have some Star Wars card decks.

@extantsrevenge I actually primarily collect 1/6 action figures, mostly Hot Toys. Would love to see more of your statue collection

@R1s1ngs0n I have several Mondo posters but they are so big and take up so much room. I honestly forget about the drops nowadays and really only buy their timed editions. Are you able to display your entire collection or do you rotate them?

@Mrdugan

The 3 posters shown above have been adorning my apartment walls for several years and each has had a specially made custom frame commissioned.

They are the only prints I own besides this beautiful Rock poster by Chuck Sperry.

QUEENS-COLOR-WEB.jpg

There are just too many prints I love and would like to own, but limited finances and limited space unfortunately prevent me from indulging in this folly. The first Mondo posters I bought (and that I absolutely loved!) were Metropolis and Psycho prints by Laurent Durieux. But then I discovered and fell head over heels in love with Ansin's Taxi Driver and had no choice but to trade both Durieux's for that highly sought after print. Goldfinger (another Mondo grail) and Citizen Kane soon followed and then I called it a day.

I'll soon be the happy recipient of Vice Press' Goodfellas combo set, so I'm already trying to figure out how and where I'll be able to display their awesome poster.

Thanks @Mrdugan for the challenge!

Hmmmmm… so I could certainly complete this particular challenge in Lego alone, and in Pops, and again in diecast. Sadly most of my Merch (Especially my diecast) is boxed away safely in the loft, patiently awaiting the day I have a room to display it all properly. Or in terms of Lego, is in bits due to space.

Hopefully what I have to hand will satisfy your interest. 😊🤞🏼

Challenge #17.

Thank you @raylight

Action Duo's or teams/partners in action:

20230123-001017.jpg

Here we have a typically entertaining film of two cops doing things their own way; a classic film with partners in action that are legend; a detective duo that are really good, consistent, even realistic; the characters of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones who are a true duo and partners in sci-fi action; and, finally, what was probably the first duo in action: Laurel & Hardy.

As a bonus, here's a film in which Nicholas Cage and Pedro Pascal are not partners in action, but the second half of the film has some totally memorable scenes as genuine partners in action. I had a massive wonderful time watching it.

thanks @raylight and @extantsrevenge for Challenge 17 : It Takes Two

I had to get kinda creative for this one, and also include a few extras for good measure 😅

1) Back to the Future

2) the Goonies

3) Edge of Tomorrow

4) Looper

5) the Fifth Element

6) 3:10 to Yuma

7) Tropic Thunder

8) Top Gun Maverick

I'd like to see Looper get a premium beyond a steelbook, a full fledged One Click from Manta would be 👍

Hello Psychos. Thank you to @extantsrevenge for allowing me to bring to you...

Challenge 18

Sci-Fi Comedy GIF by Turner Classic Movies

“Merchandi$ing! Where the Real Money from the Movie is Made”

This is your chance to show us all your stuff from the movies you love.

Thor Behold GIF by Truly.

We want to see 5 movie-related items along with the movie the item comes from. You are free to use any release you want and whatever merchandise you want! Examples include (but are by no means limited to): toys, clothing, cups, tins, plates, books, posters, statues, and anything else someone threw down cold hard cash to obtain.

While you are allowed to use any media type there are a couple of rules about the items you may use.

Rule 1: The item must have been purchased either by yourself or someone else as a gift. Extras as featured in Challenge 3 are not allowed.

Rule 2: Soundtracks, while awesome, are not allowed as they were the focus of Challenge 9 “Don’t Stop the Music”

Rule 3: you may only use 1 item-type per movie or franchise. As an example, please don’t submit 5 MCU-related Pops and 5 MCU movies or 5 Star Wars statues and 5 Star Wars movies. We want to see variety either in the merchandise or the movie or preferably both.

As a bonus – please tell us why you selected these 5 pieces of merchandise.

1. The Avengers—A Marvel blanket made by my sister!

Well, well @raylight

Isn't this already the second great challenge You brought to us?

(Now I know why it's called...)

It Takes Two

(Challenge # 17)

And again a really nice one Daniel - Thank's for that!

Instead of using the Usual Suspects (Bad Boys, Lethal Weapon) I've tried to use some titles that were not my first thoughts...

1

R.I.P.D.

Rest In Peace Department

Although a box office flop, the film is consistently funny and contains some delightful scenes.

Especially as cop Nick Walker (Ryan Reynolds) is joined after his demise by the equally undead afterlife police teacher Roy Pulsipher (brilliantly played by Jeff Bridges) as an oddball, gnarly, western sheriff (who still suffers psychologically from what some obviously extremely shameless desert coyotes abused his dead skull for...)

R.I.P.D..thumb.png.188c96462cf17c9fdf5c5c74bf8ef592.png

2

Léon - The Professional

Assassin Léon (Jean Reno) and Mathilda (Natalie Portmann)

Has there ever been a cooler and at the same time more heart-touching film couple...?

LEON.thumb.png.165bb972fe1f265f27797051fb3d1f59.png

3

JURASSIC PARK

Here we have even two Buddy-Teams:

Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) & Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern)

and (especially!) the grandchildren of John Hammond

Lex (Ariana Richards) & Tim (Joseph Mazello)

...all constantly working during 123 minutes not to end up as a snack for the dinosaurs!

1168844601_JurassicPark.thumb.png.637801fa895ab1a89abd52af631d37dc.png

4

Indiana Jones And The Tempel Of Doom

Not only with Karen Allen(as Martin Ravenwood in "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" and in "Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Cristal Skull")

and the great Sean Connery as the father of Henry Jones Jr. ("Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade") did Harrison Ford make a great team.

Also these two chaps here worked magnificently together ("Big mistake Indy... big mistake!").

Spielberg staged in his typically emotional way both the humorous scenes between Indiana Jones and the shrewd Short "Shorty" Round (Ke Huy Quan)

- who almost steals the show from our great action hero -

as well as the deeply aspects of friendship and not least the more serious scene of the children's liberation that conveys - not least thanks to the glorious music of the master John Williams - a sublime triumph of justice over evil in a legendary manner.

So John and Steven are also Cinematic Buddies in the best sense of the meaning...

1202610041_IndianaJonesAndTheTempleOfDoom.thumb.png.c8fa17dea65fec952c7f3ae8722c13c8.png

5

CONAN

The Barbarian

Conan (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Valeria (Sandahl Bergmann)

And isn't she a real buddy to her Conan? ... just remind of her saying:

"All the gods, they cannot sever us.

If I were dead and you were still fighting for life, I'd come back from the darkness.

Back from the pit of hell to fight at your side."

And by God, she did...

Conan.thumb.png.cae6c6497c87a58a0a18e3960277e56b.png

And finally a little Bonus for the closing titles...

The Ghost And The Darkness

Vali Kilmer (as bridge construction engineer John Patterson) and Michael Douglas (as Big Game Hunter Charles Remington)

on the prowl for two man-eating lions.

Apart from the protagonists developing into Buddies in Action, the film impresses with its justifiably award-winning camera work.

IMG_4256.thumb.jpg.87a1d0808a599bd6fa45393b02131b80.jpg

I hope this made the Challenge

and of course that You (together with YOUR Buddy-Team !) enjoyed my contribution.

:)
