Thinking about Action Duo's the first thing that comes to my mind is Lethal Weapon. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are simply perfect.

Here is my picture for the challenge

802225006_Challenge17.thumb.JPG.0aa6fff8bbf9f6f97fc9cb939c0a02c5.JPG

Oh yes, these duos must not be missed. Lethal Weapon, Bad Boys, Men in Black... lets see how many couples/teams we find in the end.

I watch movies only in german language. I remember the legendary slogan "Ich bin zu alt für den Schei**" from Lethal Weapon.

What do they say in original language ? The same ? 😄

Challenge #17.  It takes two.

1.  J and K - Men In Black

2.  Neo ,Trinity, and Morpheus - The Matrix

3. Bill Cage and Rita Vrataski. - Edge of Tomorrow.

4.  Luke and Deckard. - Hobbs and Shaw.

5.  Riggs and Murtaugh - Lethal Weapon

The Sci-Fi genre brings "newcomer" like EoT and Matrix. Hobbs and Shaw on the action movie side. I think the list will be very long in the end. Cool !

🧋🤠 🎬 :) Thank you so much for this very challenging CHALLENGE our little minion Daniel @raylight❣️👍

- Jesse James/Frank James in one of my fav movies with Tyrone Power as Jesse and Henry Fonda as his brother Frank, they were one lethal ‘Ol West hombres! 🤠

- The Godfather here we have a very ruthless duo in Don Corleone as the GF and his natural successor Michael, they were to be most feared!

- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo disgraced magazine journalist Mikael Blomqvist played exceptionally by Michael Nyqvist joining forces with troubled young computer hacker Lisabeth Salander, Mikael starts to delve into the past of the Vanger family - and unearths a history more sinister and violent than he could ever have imagined

- Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan Captain Kirk William Shatner and Spock Leonard Nimoy battle their arch-enemy Khan.

- Batman the Movie Batman (Adam West) and Robin’s (Burt Ward) most dastardly and cunning adversaries: the Penguin (Burgess Meredith), the Joker (Cesar Romero), the Riddller (Frank Gorshin), and the Catwoman (Lee Merriwether), joining forces to take over the world thanks to a De-Hydrator that turns people into piles of dust. The dynamic duo pull out all the stops, with a BIFF! And a KA-POW!, to stop the bad guys.

Not much of an action movie guy, and feeling nervous about whether my duos will be approved, so I'll share more than five pictures and hope for the best.

Awards

@raylight excellent challenge that proved more difficult than I expected, but I think these will do the trick.

In The Heat Of The Night - Virgil Tibbs & Bill Gillespie

Duck, You Sucker! - Juan Miranda & Sean Mallory

The Sting - Henry Gondorff & Johnny Hooker

Midnight Run - Jack Walsh & Jonathan “The Duke” Mardukas

Memories Of Murder - Park Doo-man & Seo Tae-yoon

It’s no secret that Midnight Run is extremely high on my wishlist of titles for which i’d love to see a nice steel released some day.

This was a little hard to put together as I seem to be woefully unprepared for action duo/team films, but I think I grabbed 5 of my favorites. Hopefully these fit the bill!

#3: Bullet Train (Tangerine and Lemon)

20230115_135505.thumb.jpg.6bc827b77d4c4972c72292cdcd00b061.jpg

#4: The Usual Suspects (Whole Team!)

This challenge has shown that I need more action movies, for sure. Looking forward to the next one!

OK here we go a New Year Cat Jumping GIF

So this week's Challenge is yes our favourite movies @Chief_lookout  thire are so many the ones I have chosen as my picture 5

are the ones that I use when the darkness is creeping in around the edges and you need that SAFTY

net to catch you

20230115_112016.thumb.jpg.755bfcc9ac8e5f4465c92a473142df69.jpg

Ladyhawk  by far the BEST EVER medieval story of love , hate and perseverance in the face of evil .

The Abyss  I for one as well as others can not wait for the 4K and blu ray re master of this the extended edition  that this so definitely deserves like ALL in this pic.

Kinky Boots what is being a man and being  brave  well the man asking that question is Charlie Price and the one answering is Lola

Leviathan   under water thrills gore . Ernie Hudson and Peter Weller what's not to love with one of the best ever punches in movie history.

The Hitcher  again I'm one of the 1st in line for the 4K re master of this ultimate nightmare of a road movie for Jim Hasley as he picks up John Ryder to help while away the hours .

My other go too's

The Thing  everything about The Thing makes everything  all right no matter now bad everything is.

Snowpicercer  I would gladly have Bong Joon Ho's baby's  for what he did bringing us this masterpiece.

Dredd the Slow Mo at the end poetic

Constantine  Keanu at his finest with an almost perfect Satan only rival to Peter Studamore is Veggo Motensen  .

The Hunt For Red October  utter genius is within  the word Armegeddon  .

Special  shout outs to The  original  Mad Max trilogy  , Gladiator  , LOTR extended  , Chronicles Of Riddick  , Curse Of The Wearrabbit , Hot Fuzz  Star Trek  Into Darkness the list goes on and  and far far too many to mention as it could  well be the longest post in MP and maybe  Internet history ever .

Feeling like crap today, wife has been sick and her Covid test turned positive today. Pretty sure I have it too. This will both of ours first Covid illness, pretty good streak we had. I didn’t think I had the energy to do this today but these dynamic duos popped into my head and had to post them.

Frodo & Sam - AFIAC pretty much the strongest bond between two friends in any movie…or book. Return of the King is the culmination of their friendship though my favorite is probably Fellowship.

Han Solo & Chewie - the ultimate ride-or-die homie, Chewbaca. R2 and Luke and R2 and Anakin are close. Solo is displayed as that’s when they met in the movies. I liked this movie and was down for more Han & Chewie buddy smuggler spin offs.

Indiana Jones & Short Round - pretty much the embodiment of Chewie in a little kid. Best part is when Indy is beating up Khalima and SR is beating up the prince in the same shot (chef’s kiss).

Bill & Ted - could anyone less excellent have been more triumphant? I don’t think so.

Jake & Elwood Blues - It’s 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of smokes, it’s dark and we’re wearing sunglasses. Hit it!

Thanks for the new challenge, @raylight

20230116_071505.thumb.jpg.afc823d707d97ecacdc3c95e5e1cc357.jpg

1. 3:10 To Yuma (Ben Wade & Dan Evans)

2. Die Hard With A Vengeance (John McClane & Zeus Carver)

3. Back to the Future (Marty McFly & Doc Brown)

4. The Karate Kid (Daniel LaRusso & Mr. Miyagi)

5. Planes, Trains & Automobiles (Del Griffith & Neal Page)

I've mentioned this earlier, but since this year marks its 25th anniversary, I would love a steelbook/premium edition of Rush Hour by UHD Club (maybe the could do the entire trilogy while they're at it).

So I'm realizing that I'm always posting my challenge submissions a bit later than everybody else lol. The reason for this is because I'm usually working full-time during the week so I have neither the desire nor the energy to rummage through my collection after work. I like to give these challenges their due consideration, so I wait until the weekend to post them. So...without further ado, I present my submissions for:

Challenge 16: TOP 10 FAVORITES (in no particular order)...

Goonies

Gladiator

Lord of the Rings: Return of the King

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi

Lion King

Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (my favorite of the first 6 original series films)

The Rock

Down Periscope (fantastic Kelsey Grammer comedy)

Liar Liar

Jaws

20230115_120020.thumb.jpg.b5dd39bad9416f6f272e3149299a2645.jpg20230115_120948.thumb.jpg.f8e1f0190175a054d8e3ef094c872bcd.jpg20230115_120139.thumb.jpg.be33f6c217d097c7523c6a2f69eb6487.jpg20230115_120050.thumb.jpg.7e465f67d9cf0d6b996ccde7600664f7.jpg20230115_120031.thumb.jpg.e88894b6e4aa368211dc7e1dfb86fa2d.jpg

For a movie I feel is most deserving of the premium treatment, I sincerely hope the upcoming 4K release of True Lies receives this honor. If recent rumors are to be believed....

Duos. A new fun challenge by @raylight thanks! So many great teams out there!

197F52D2-56F7-43A5-B90E-2737A05A705B.thumb.jpeg.090d8f0d4e13a56f47b4aaf1f3abb23f.jpeg

Logan: Wolverine and X-23 (Laura); they weren't a duo the entire movie, but for the scenes where they did team up...Awesome!

Lonesome Dove: Augustus McRae and Woodrow Call make an awesome dup as well!

Edge of Tomorrow: Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt together on screen made one of my favorite movies what it is!

Wild Things: Another great duo! I'm not talking about the two on the cover! (SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN IT!) They had kind of a love connection and weren't really working together. I'm talking about Neve Campbell and Bill Murray. You don't find out until the end, in a twist from a movie full of twists!

2 Fast 2 Furious: While not my favorite movie in the franchise by far, Paul Walker and Tyrese did make a great duo! The rest of the films were more about the team and not really any two over the others.

I'd like to see the duo of Matt Damon and Danny DeVito get a premium release for The Rainmaker! Thanks for reading!

challenge #16:

Top ten favourite movies.

That's a pretty hard task to decide, because there are so many perfect movies around the world...

I just can tell which ones are my favourite at this moment...maybe some will change in the future!

1. American Psycho

2. Watchmen

3. Per un pugno di dollari

4. Per qualche dollaro in più

5. Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo

6. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

7. Jaws

8. Die Hard

9. Lawrence of Arabia

10. Bullet in the head

I would love to see a Steelbook One Click boxsets from KimchiDVD for American Psycho!

CHALLENGE 16 : TOP TEN FAVORITE MOVIES

Thanks so much @Chief_lookout for giving me sleepless nights trying to decide what top 10 fav movies to share with the internet.  You owe me some money for a box of sleepytime tea.   😆

THE 400 BLOWS - All childhood angst movies are a mere footnote to this Truffaut gem.  It's the original Ferris Bueller: if Ferris was younger, French, and his mother was Simone de Beauvoir.  Click to see  Antoine in the graviton

AMADEUS - A nearly perfect movie.  We are just tiny specks of dust, orbiting the genius of those who actually change the world.

ALMOST FAMOUS - If there is an afterlife, I hope it is an endless loop of me being William Miller, over and over and over.

SEVEN SAMURAI - The purest cinema I've ever seen, endlessly fascinating.  Without Kambei, there is no Yoda. (I prefer Kambei)

ZOOLANDER - I was in New York shooting fashion and beauty at the time this film was made (in the Meatpacking district).  Many of the club kids I hung out with were used as extras and small parts.   It's like a ridiculous fictional home movie for me, if Ben Stiller made your home movies.

2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY - The only truly convincing representation of what lies on the other side, imho.  Quiet is a powerful character.

MULHOLLAND DRIVE - Lynch is our only true poet filmmaker, and this is his Sonnet 18.  Or maybe it's Finnegans Wake, and like James Joyce, Lynch is just laughing his ass off at us.

BEAT STREET - Another movie that feels somewhat like a home movie. Instead of the South Bronx, I was a boy living the birth of hip hop in Miami.

RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK - My mother worked in the mall.  So, I wandered the mall for 6 hours while she worked.  I snuck in the movie theater and saw this film dozens of times.  It is the paradigm for all action movies.  And . . . Amy Farah Fowler is WRONG, without Indy they never find the ark in the first place.

THE KILLING OF A CHINESE BOOKIE - Oh man, this is not the best Cassavetes movie, but it is one I love.  I used to shoot scenes from this as exercises with my acting classmates.  It is my noir crime comfort blanket.
