So I am 110% bias because I love swords and sword fights.  So my fav film weapons are:

1. Excalibur - King Arthur (Clive Owen)

2. Badass sword from Alita 

3. Sword of Crum - Conan the Barbarian 

4. The Last Samurai 

5. Gladiator 

 

threw In some guns -

3:10 to Yuma when Charlie Prince was using those cursed guns.   

13 Hours - any and all guns from that gem of a film 

Wrath of Man - one of my fav Guy Ritchie’s 

The accountant and that awesome sniper rifle that shoots canons 

 

 

my fav weapon of a good guy is any Excalibur from any King Arthur movie (especially Charlie Hunnam)

So for me I would say that the katana has to be my favorite weapon in cinema. It has been wielded by many antagonist and protagonist and people in between it is hard to say which is my fave but if I had to pick, it would be toshiro mifune's character in seven samurai. He is an amazing actor who has been a samurai in many films and his sword in seven samurai sticks out because of how long it is and how he Carrie's it.

 

 

This next one is a two for one. While I think the revolver has to be my second favorite weapon in cinema, it is here I would like to point out the awesomeness of django's gatling gun and how much I love the idea of a guy carrying a coffin around and no one knows what's in it. But once its revealed, prepare for death.

 

 

This next one is takes us back once again to samurai's, but instead of a katana, we have probably one of the most unique and creative weapons, not just in samurai films but in all of cinema. Anyone who has seen this series of films will know what I'm talking about. The baby cart in the lone wolf and cub sieries.

 

 

 

Now for my favorite villain weapon. I went a little simplistic but still very iconic. The simple knife is a tool used by many killers and horror icons and what bigger slasher icon than michael myers himself. Not only used by him but many others, including my second favorite slasher icon, chucky.

 

 

And for my last one I decided to go with another gun, but this guns uniqueness makes it stand out and not to mention it's also made of flesh. Anyone who has not seen videodrome should definitely check it out, so you can watch a man pull a gun from a vaginal opening on his stomach. "Long live the new flesh"

Here are a few pictures of my scores / soundtracks.

As you can easily see, I'm not averse to the Hans Zimmer Scores.

Before I started collecting steelbooks, I had been collecting CDs and vinyl for a long time.

My shelves are now filled with more than 2000 records of various genres. But mostly electronic music and scores.

One of the first scores I think was The Bone Collector by Craig Armstrong.

If I remember correctly, the first HZ score was Rain Man.

I am in the same boat, well over 2k vinyl.  But not many soundtracks, I just don't listen to them separate from the film.  But, totally respect those of you who have these amazing collections.

#1: LOTR Trilogy with the Complete Recordings. It felt like a crime to only include one of them so here's the entire trilogy.

 

 

#2: The Matrix Titans of Cult edition with the Varese Sarabande 2-disc SACD soundtrack

 

 

#3: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly 4K from Kino Lorber. The soundtrack is the 3-disc set from Quartet Records.

 

 

#4: The Star Wars Complete Saga DVD set which includes the 2006 discs with the LaserDisc transfers. The soundtrack is the 1993 release and next to it is the radio drama.

 

 

#5: Pirates of the Caribbean Blu-ray chest set and Soundtrack Treasures Collection set

Fav weapon for a Villain (now that it has recently made its way into cinema) has to go to All-Black the NecroSword.

 

 

Or Nicolson’s Jokers rather long pistol when taking out the Batwing.

My submission for challenge 9:

 

The Rock is the first movie score I ever bought back in the mid/late 90s. It is the score that got me into collecting and listening to movie scores in general, and may have even been the catalyst that lead me to movie collecting and watching as well.

Haunting and unforgettable 

 

Titanic was brought for the hit Celine Deon song, but even the other instrumental compositions running throughout the film e.g Rose's song are beautiful 

 

Notice another James Horner album, he left us to soon. I once read an interview of his, and he said how Avatar had taken over his life, where he was working on the score 18 hours a day for 2 years. And boy , does it show

Sensational music, have a listen to Jake's first flight..

 

West Side Story, every track gets you tapping and thumping.  In fact, the soundtrack is so good, Spielberg used the same one 60 years on

Evergreen classic

 

Karate Kid, mostly to do with my love for the film,  some of the tracks really rock.. Bananarama's cruel summer, young hearts and you're the best !

 

My first purchased soundtrack was Jungle Book, loved the Disney soundtrack 

It was one of my bare necessities of life..😄
