Challenge 6:

 

Tried to use as many DVDs and random things as possible.  Had to use a couple of newer ones just to hit the letters.  Dug some of these out of a box we haven’t touched in some time.  Didn’t even know we owned them!  
 

Bubble Boy and Riding In Cars With Boys made it all the way here from my wife’s childhood and have somehow avoided me throwing them out each time I do a culling even though she’ll likely never even open the cases ever again.

 

My username is just a made up word from childhood.  Can’t remember the very first time it was used but I do remember my mate making a prank call panicking asking them for help as the Bungrals were coming.  He got so in to it he was nearly crying.  Good times.

My user name is from the fact I cut my own hair normally one I have cut my husbands and sons.

 

Sit and go to a hair dressers I'm  a cat on a hot plate . Sit and have a tattoo cool as a cucumber. 

 

I think it may have something to do with the fact that I don't do normal girl things .

 

When I do cut it it can go a bit WRONG this means I have a hat glued to my head for upto 3 weeks . 

 

It was the kids that came up with the name Scary Hair when this was the case once and it stuck so here we go

Now, this nickname is used by many people, so I added 078, which is the beginning of my zip code.

My handle comes from my love of Indiana Jones movies - specifically Raiders of the Lost Ark.  I’d love a really nice Premium Set to come out.  The funny thing is that since I created this account, one movie has taken the top rank on my #1 favorite movie - which used to be Raiders…

 

S - Spider-Man 2 - my favorite comic book movie of all time - Have the Lenticular WeeT

T - The Terminator - this movie ranks as a 10/10 stars.  I love T2 as well.  At the time that I bought this, the Japanese import was the most sought after Steelbook.

E - Empire of the Sun - great movie, best picture winner, Christian Bale’s first movie, and a Zavvi release.

E - Evil Dead 2 - a masterpiece of the horror comedy mash-up.  Bruce Campbell may be the greatest living B actor, and this Rami “sequel” to Evil Dead is a movie that Roger Ebert gave 4 stars to in his review.  It’s another Zavvi release.

L - Logan - a top 5 favorite comic book movie (3 OC my favorites make this challenge, I could have included Thor: Ragnarok).  This may be the best written comic book movie though.  This is Manta Lab’s deluxe edition.

B - Batman Begins - Nolan is my favorite director of all time.  I saw Memento in the theater and haven’t missed seeing one of his in theaters since.  This is Blufans Double Lenticular.  My favorite Premium company is Blufans.  I could also put my favorite SciFi movie of all time here - Blade Runner.

O - Oldboy - It was so weird and ahead of it’s time.  It’s shock value is and quality are every bit as good as Squid Game or other Asian imports.  This is my Plain Archive Full Slip.

O - Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - Tarantino’s ride is a fun one, and the train wreck of the Manson murders is a crazy ending.  It’s homage to 1960s LA is great.  This is my double Lenticular Fanatics Selection.

K - The King’s Speech - I love this character piece.  I love the acting, and I love the story.  This is a a Viva metal box.  There weren’t many Viva titles made.  It was a must own for me though.

I - Inception - It’s my favorite movie ever.  Raiders is my 2nd.  Shawshank Redemption is my 3rd.  This is an HDZeta that I bought through MP.

N - Nightmare Before Christmas - I didn’t have a lot of ‘N’ movies to choose from, but this is a solid 10/10 movie and a Halloween/Christmas classic.  It’s the Zavvi release.

D - The Dark Knight is my 2nd favorite comic book movie, my second favorite Christopher Nolan movie and my favorite Batman movie.  This Blufans double Lenti was a must own.  I also have the 1-click coming - just like Batman Begins.

Y - Young Frankenstein - Is there a better movie that begins with ‘Y’ - maybe Yokimbo?  This Oscar nominated screenplay may be Mel Brooks’ (and Gene Wilder’s) best work.  This “Comic Con” Zavvi release is a gem of a find.

Here comes Halloween People!
 

 

This week we would like you to show us 5 different movies that are either Horror or Halloween themed. All Horror titles are of course allowed, but only 2 titles from one franchise. 

If you do not have any Horror titles and because it is Halloween this week, don’t panic because we are also allowing titles that prominently include the following:

• Witches
• Ghosts
• Vampires
• Skeletons
• Zombies
• Werewolves

Please note that ALL other Monsters/Aliens/Creatures will NOT be considered for this Challenge.

To kick things off, here is my submission @extantsrevenge

 

The first film I recall watching that “Creeped me out” was Hellraiser. I went for a sleep over at a mates house and he had a much older brother, who convinced us to watch it with him. I was about 12 and I think this was the first proper Horror I was ever subjected to. My mate, used to this kind of behaviour from his brother, took it in his stride. I on the other hand was used to watching Smokey and the Bandit and the likes, and I recall watching it with my knees in front of my face 😂

 

As you can tell by my submissions, I’ve never been one for Horror flicks personally, although the older I get the more I am showing an interest in them as I shy away more and more from the crash bang wallop action movies. I am a Big Monster fan, I’m just not so much into the Torture and Gore-fest’s.

I loved Ready Player One as a movie, because I am a kid of the 80s

So for me the 80s nostalgia was very impactful

Loved the subtle and quaint references to all things 80s. What a decade

So I thought my profile name has to be a tribute and pay homage to the crazy and best decade 

 

I had my real name as my MP profile before changing to Parzival

But I was getting some unnecessary stick from the other site

I cannot believe how immature , pathetic and childish people the other site are

Unbelievable! Worst of all their Admins do not mediate (infact encourage it)

So glad I'm in the safe haven here of MP

It's a true story, superbly executed. Shooting took place at the Bendlerblock, where the real  characters were executed

Imagine that! 

Unfortunately,  no premium or steelbook exists for this

Until of course @BobaFett1974 made me a custom steelbook,  beautiful steelbook 

He makes the best steelbooks in my opinion,  better than premium retailers 

If ever a Zavvi or BB steelbook ever came out for this, I doubt it would be better than what Steffan has produced here

The first movie that creeped my out was this one:

 

I was never creeped out by visceral, bloody images but psychological horror is a different matter:

The idea of being copied when you sleep and gradually society being taken over by this soulless imitations

was very disturbing. Let alone the last image of Donald Sutherland. Still creepy as hell.
