Origin of the name: I have a PhD in ethnomusicology, so that's where the ethno comes from. And I have a master's in saxophone performance, so that's the sax part.

Thanks @InfiniteDoors for a novel and fun challenge.  I’m usually a bit remorseful about my chosen user name, as when I signed up I didn’t really know what I was getting into and just chose my twitter handle (which happens to just be my first name and last initial) rather than something more creative or, even, the name use on other platforms - Counselor.  But at least for this challenge, a shorter name works!

Origin of Bossjon.  Easy enough.   When Phantom Menace came out in '99.  There was the Gungan Leader Boss Nass.  Lazy thinking,  I'm Bossjon.

Not been well the last few days so just gonna get my challenge 5 in before the weekend is up.

 

So I only really stumbled in to this world of premium steelbooks by chance when I was searching eBay for some random Terminator stuff.

 

I came across some of the HDZeta Terminator and had no idea what an “HDZeta” was.  Didn’t know if it was legit releases or some dodgy bootleg stuff so dug a little deeper and ended up on the other site due to Google.  After a week or so there I heard about MP via some PMs and came over to have a look and started to learn about all the different suppliers and different editions.

 

I saved a few searches on eBay and my very first premium purchase which was absolutely caused by MP was Terminator Salvation HDZeta.  It wasn’t sealed as I hadn’t really decided whether that bothers me at this point and was just happy to have it.

 

 

 

The next couple of purchases were also HDZeta Terminators but I need some diversity of retailer for this challenge so will skip forward a little and bring back this gem again.  I realised the gaping hole in HDZetas lineup is T2 so I went in search of the next best thing which was Novas T2 which I grabbed as soon as I could.

 

 

 

Things started spiralling as I learnt more and realised some of the editions I’d missed in the previous years had to be procured. Target set and aquired!

 

 

Outside of Terminator and John Wick my other favourite set of films is The Dark Knight Trilogy and this was pre HDZetas grail set so I spent some digging around to find some of the Amazon Japan White steels and managed to pick one up which I later sold and rebought 😂. Some won’t necessarily call this a premium but I treat this in way higher regard than lot of my other premiums!

 

 

Another really old purchase a few months after the above is of this DVD Steelbook from Germany.  I love everything Final Fantasy and was very happy to be able to pick this up for a very reasonable price compared so some of the others.

 

 

As that definitely isn’t really a premium I’ll add another below that is from one of my earliest group buys here on MP and still one of my favourites.  Just as above I actually sold my original when I needed some cash but have since re bought it for a bargain price.  Always kept a saved search for it going.  I feel it’s a little underrated but I really like it.

Here's a suggestion for that.. the number used in your username can be switched out for the corresponding letter in the alphabet. For example, 1 will be A.

Back in my partying days, I used to be able to determine who just arrived to the party by the sound of the car and feet on the steps, to calm everyone down when they thought the cops were coming. And I also had great vision, so I could spot State Troopers on the highway long before anyone else. So one day my buddy looked over after I told him to slow down and said, "Ya know, with seeing cops on the road and knowing who is at the door before we do, you're like our chief lookout!" Challenge 5

 

Not easy to find time, but always on time 😶

 

Let's go back to some nice memories of early collecting! 

 

 

It all started around June 2019.
I was collecting WWA steelbooks at the time and I came across an article on the French website "Steelbookpro" which said that there were again some copies of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 WeetCollection available on the official website.
I didn't know the publisher nor the prenium steelbook at the time and when I got the edition in my hands I remember saying that the steelbook's finish was incredible!
That's how it all started 😀

 

 

And like many, the trap closed and it was a new world to discover 😈

 

I then discovered Filmarena for their Alien edition, a film that I absolutely needed in my collection.

 

 

Then it was the case of Novamedia with the John wick 3 and what a surprise when I saw the Fullslip treatment, a marvel, Novamedia I miss you ❤️

 

 

A few months later I was lucky enough to find A Quiet Place from Umania on eBay for a very low price, an edition I must have missed when it came out, I wasn't as well informed as I am now about the releases and the purchases of the prenium editions were occasional because I didn't necessarily have the means.

I remember it was my first lenticular and what a surprise! With the claws that disappear by moving the lenticular, it may not be a big deal for some but when you discover it for the first time it marks forever 😌

 

 

It's much later, at the end of 2020, that I would place my first order at Mediapsychos.

I'm not sure if it was Spiderman homecoming Blufans or Avengers EndGame Weet that I received first but I couldn't find Spiderman who must be in an OC 😄

Since I already showed presented the OC, here is the lenticular I was lucky enough to get thanks to Mediapsychos 💖

 

 

One of my best memories as a Collector because it was my first OC and it's hard to go back after having tasted the boxes 😬

 

I hope to be able to continue this passion for a long time and to discover incredible editions like the next release of Hdzeta with The Lord of the Rings 🙌

1- Logan Filmarena Fullslip

 

First premium edition and the cause of all this madness that came later. Through an individual.

 

 

2- Logan Manta Lab Fullslip

 

First edition of Manta, obviously this movie was also the cause of everything. At that time I decided on this one in particular, now I regret not having acquired the other two having the opportunity at that time.

 

 

3- John Wick Novamedia OC

 

First Nova and first direct purchase; After seeing that everything arrived correctly, later the other two parts arrived.

 

 

4- Wonder Woman Blufans OC

 

First Blufans and first purchase through MP, which I arrived at thanks to the recommendation of an acquaintance, to whom I will always be grateful. Unfortunately it did not arrive in good condition, but very kindly @deckard99 offered me all the help possible to give me a solution to the problem, very grateful for it, I will not forget it.😊

 

 

5- Godzilla Fanatic

 

I was able to get this edition, which I love and I appreciate very much and of course, it's Godzilla, what can I say.
