Amazing week for challenge 2, we really did see some awesome editions. I think the Blade Runner 2049 UHD has been shown the most.

 

@Gentleman Braveheart is my favorite stand alone movie, I also love the BB edition. There is a 2-Disc Expanded and remasterd Soundtrack CD from La-La Land Records a must have. For German/European Fans can get it at Soundtrackcorner.de and other directly at La-La Land Records.

Hello Psychos!

 

Our resident squirrel in command, @extantsrevenge, has granted me the opportunity to invent and introduce our third challenge.

 

 

So without further ado...

 

Show us the Top 3 "Extras" in your collection:

• extras must have been included in the slip, mailed with the release, or an MP exclusive product
• you must only pick one of each type of "extra"
• extras must be pictured with the release they're associated with

As always, a brief explanation as to why these are your favorite is encouraged.

 

What qualifies as an "extra"? Here are some examples:

• lenticular magnets/cards
• posters, keychains, coins, etc
• MP's TARS, Blade Runner Badge, release-specific magnets, etc
• Pre-order bonuses

If it came with the release or from MP, then it counts!

 

Sealed collectors need not worry. There should be enough options outside of the shrink wrap to allow everyone to qualify. Show us what you can without piercing that precious plastic force field 😉 .

So here are my Top 3...

 

 

1. Media Psychos Exclusive Captain Marvel Holofoil Magnet (WeET's Captain Marvel release)

 

This one holds a special place in my collection because it was my very first group buy! I was so excited to finally enter the premium world and jumped at the chance to add this magnet to an already top-notch release. The art and the holofoil finish are both superb. In addition, it has served as a memento of not only entering into a new hobby but also becoming part of a fantastic community.

 

 

2. Numbering Cards for Blufans' Star Wars: The Force Awakens

 

I love what Blufans did with these. They're not your typical "credit card style" numbering cards. They put some thought into these and themed them to go along with the release. I wish they (and other retailers) would do this more often as it makes it feel that much more special. Also, this was my first OC.

 

 

3. The Keychain from EverythingBlu's Psycho Release

 

Who wouldn't find this cool? I've always appreciated subtle references to iconic films and this perfectly fits the bill. It's currently attached to a spare key but maybe one day I'll have a dedicated movie room and I'll somehow use it there 😁

I'm not a huge fan of extra stuff—just a steelbook and a lenticular slip, please. But sometimes there are special items that make me happy because they fit the theme of the movie so well. Here are a few:

 

 

Titans of Cult Blade Runner, with coasters. When I think of Blade Runner, I'm mindful of how careful I want to be with the wood furniture in my home. I shudder to imagine wet glasses being set directly onto a nicely finished table. So TOC's coasters were absolutely the perfect extra to include with an edition of Blade Runner.

 

Just kidding. Those are the dumbest extra item I've ever received with a steelbook. Here are my actual three items for the challenge:

 

 

1) Titans of Cult 2001: A Space Odyssey, with Clavius Base patch. Sometimes (once, anyway?) TOC gets it right. This was a good release, and the Clavius Base patch is genuinely cool. I hope someday to use it on a cap or jacket.

 

 

2) Cinemuseum Isle of Dogs, with Spots dog tag. Another favorite movie, and another extra item that's the perfect concept. And a memory of when CM released more than just announcements for future "releases."

 

 

3) Batman: The Animated Series, with lenticular cards. Seeing this series finally remastered on blu-ray was a real revelation—what a beautiful show! The box for the set is elegant, and it included an envelope of lenticular cards. It instantly made me wish every "collector's card" that comes with a premium edition was lenticular. For me, that would be much more special than just postcards.

The Lobsters - The Blu Collection 

A film that I missed when it was released and that I discovered this year, a very nice surprise! I was lucky enough to find this edition by chance on sale, simple visual but works so well, a favorite 😌

 

 

Terminator 2 - Filmarena

The classic Fullslip from Filmarena, which I preferred to the Lenticular because I really like the visuals that were chosen. I have to admit though that I put the glossy steelbook inside 😬

 

 

Jumanji - Hdzeta 

So many childhood memories of this film that I had to have an edition and what an edition it was! I think Hdzeta did a nice job on it especially on the back 👌

 

 

Seven - Mantalab

Like many other films, it's a must-see that I'm delighted to have, my only regret is that I didn't take OC at the time 🤔

 

 

Pulp fiction - Novamedia

Certainly my favourite Tarantino film and Novamedia has done very well with their editions with a box and a steelbook of the most magnificent 🙌

Challenge #3

 

3. A Clockwork Orange- Poster. This was a great set and I absolutely love the double-sided poster that came with it! 

 

2. Inception from UHD Club- Extra Lenti. This 3 transition Lenti is phenomenal. I believe they could have used this as their main Lenti, as good as that one is. 

 

1. Jaws from UHD Club- Medallion. It was hard picking between this one and the medallion from their E, T. release. Both are excellent. The detail and heft to this is phenomenal. Fantastic job by @ksosk on this!!

My favorite extra item is the ouija set that came with my limited edition of Witchboard. It is super high quality and I use it often. 
 

 

 

 

next would be the coffee mug that came with the Cinemuseum Joker OC. I use it on my shelves to corral my MP Swag pens. 
 

 

 

next would be the awesome horn that came with the Cinemuseum OC of The Terrifier. No reason other than I think it’s just really original and looks nice on the shelf with other extra items. 
 

 

a couple of honorable mentions would be the extra items that came with The Shining OC and The Rocky Collection.

Ok, extras...extras...I am a sealed collector, but I guess I can come up with three. First:

The Goonies map. The map is still sealed (obvs.), but I know what it looks like from the movie, and including it was a really cool idea! Second:

My Dune holofoil cover magnet! Honestly, I'm not sure if this was included with this copy of Dune, the blue variant I own, or if it was an MP exclusive, but it is very cool! Third:

The Star Trek: Into Darkness version which comes with the Dreadnought! One of my favorite Star Trek movies, and a cool extra! Thanks for looking!

#1. My Mooby's Visor from the Clerks 2 DVD set.  Had roughly 20 years now.  Mix it with my Mooby Shirt, quick and easy Halloween costume. 

 

 

 

My all time favorite. Unfortunately I misplaced it when I moved, was my red stapler from the Office Space with Flair edition way back on DVD.

Week #3

 

Thanks @GuyIncognit0 for a great idea this week.  
 

As a mostly closed edition collector I had limited options and didn’t want to use only Cinemuseum.  So here are what I had accessible. 
 

1.  My favorite, the replica great white tooth from Jaws courtesy Cinemuseum. 

 

2. The Brigette Lahie hall of fame pin from Severin that came in a bundle with one of her films Female Executioner, though the image on the pin is from one of her best - Jean Rollin’s classic Fascination.

 

3.  A pair of gorgeous lenticular magnets.  One from UHD Club’s boxset edition of E.T. and the other from the WeET Collection One Click for Thor: Ragnarok.

 

My challenge idea is still waiting…

Challenge 3

 

My favorite extras are definitely the metal cards included in some UHD Club editions.

 

The poker chip from Cinemuseum Casino.

 

And third the "poster" from Dune Ultimate edition (Koch Films). I'm not sure what the material is but it's super thick like a particle board.

1) You guys are probably going to see this a lot, and I don't just mean for this challenge. It's the TDK motherbox again, with its iconic custom art again! Stuff like this proves why MP is such a fantastic community, and it's far from the last thing @ksosk will do for us!

Also a special guest makes a small cameo!

 

2) Time for more lenti love! It's the lenticular magnet from WeET's Spidey Trilogy, and it's plain awesome. I wish I had a fridge in my room, just to slap lenti magnets on it.

Another cameo too!

 

3) This one is pretty special, it's a letter from Theodore to his ex, from Manta Lab's her OC. It's not flashy or valuable, but it's quite heartfelt and indicative of the movie's emotional maturity. It's also cute how it's taped onto the box.

I don't really open that many premium editions, most of the time I prefer to open the regular Steelbook or a simply amaray version. Anyway Premium Editions need extras, but I prefer when these extras are the kind that is included inside the package, like lenticular cards, numbering cards and the basic stuff like booklets/photocards. Extras that are not included in the package are kinda annoying since you need to find a place for them, often they are also pointless (like the toy figures that came with the FAC Maniac of Venom and Far From Home) 😅.

 

Anyway I really appreciate when a lot of thought is put into the creation of the extras or if the item is a cool companion piece to a movie/edition. So I want to highlight more the unique Media Psychos goodies we had the pleasure to receive with certain editions in the past, or that were available as a companion item to an edition.

 

@ksosk created a very cool looking Blade Runner 2049 police badge which goes very nicely with the different Blade Runner 2049 Editions released. I love the numbers I have 😃

Then our good @ksosk went above and beyond to create some stunning sets of excluvie MP extra goodies that came with our GB copies for UHD Schindler's List and UHD Forrest Gump releases. I mean simply look at all the great stuff 😍

 

Everything was done with so much attention to detail, lots of passion and also with different special printing, simply stunning.

 

Basically I would be done now, since I already covered several type of extras. We also got very stunning Lenticulars for UHD Matrix and WCL 2001, they really rock.

 

But I also wanted to say how much I like when retailers do a box for a release that originally did not came with one like UHD Club did for The Matrix editions.

 

 

John Wick 1 from Novamedia also comes to mind. That said the FAC Hardboxes would also be an extra since you only get them when you pre-order both/all editions from a certain release. They are also really good.

 

Of course the biggest and coolest extra Box was the TDKT Motherbox but I already had that in last weeks challenge so including that only in a spoiler 😅, that also hat the magnificient holofoil cards from @ksosk 😍

I was able to solve this challenge but if I'm honest I'm not so deep into all these extra "bling bling". Yes, many of them are great, stylish and unique with high quality but I have not the space to present all this stuff so I'm more interested in a well done Steelbook, also with a slip. I prefer Fullslips.

 

So here are my three items for challenge #003:

 

No.1: Rambo Collection - The Grenade Limited Edition

My first choice because I searched for this one for a long long time and I managed it to fetch a "used one" in the last days for a fair price. Normally this one is not payable because OOP, OOS...out of everything. 😄 It's just plastic but only the idea of making a grenade as "package" for a Rambo Edition is briliant. 😄

 

No.2: Men in Black 1-3 (Ultimate Hero Pack)

I love "Men in Black", especially the first movie because it was so funny, entertaining and also the chosen team of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones was a brilliant choice.

In addition, I got the "Ultimate Hero Pack" with a figure of „Agent Frank“. 😎😁

 

No.3: MP Exclusive coin for "Bumblebee"

This coin was my first "MP exclusive" and it has a good place near my HDZeta "Bumblebee" edition. 😇😃

I think I am starting to resent these challenges purely for the fact that each time I have to take out my preciouses solely for the purpose of taking pictures, especially when it involves removing the different extras which for the most part have remained unopened.

Doing this means I have to take a 'back-up' picture of the extras, booklet, etc. before I take them out, so I remember exactly in which order to put them back in 😅

I know, I know...

 

With that said, here are my 3 favorite extras (I didn't think to include the editions themselves since they are already shown in my previous challenge).

 

The fabulous Lenti KS made as a bonus for members who purchased WCL's 2001 through the MP GB is actually my favorite extra, but since we can't choose the same type of extra more than once, I am kinda limited in my choices here.

Luckily, this astounding edition is choke-full of amazing extras, so I settled on these super cool cards.

 

As I said, my options when it comes to extras are pretty limited, so a Lenti was pretty much a given. Besides the aformentioned 2001 Lenti, this one which was included in the BR wooden box from UC is a particular favorite.

 

Last is this casino chip included within a plethora of extras that came with EverythingBlu's Casino (as you can see, my OCD wouldn't even allow me to open the plastic envelope).

I love this pencil - a goodie of Novamedia's Wick 2 OC.

 

 

2. Terminator 2 - FAC Maniac

T-800 BRAIN CHIP Replica - full metall - is included in the MANIAC.

 

 

3. Kill Bill V1 - Novamedia OC

The stop using inappropriate language-Wagon keychain - full metall - came with the Kill Bill V1 OC.

 

4. Zack Snyder's Justice League Logo Medallion

Here with the HDZETA OC. Metall. Awesome!

Heres my contribution to challenge #3:

 

The Blade Runner movies are among my most beloved ones. Thus my favorite extra is the Blade Runner badge, a great

addition to my Blade Runner 2049 editions.

On the bottom left and right you see two magnets I attached to the steelbooks. Left one bought from a private seller and the right one is from Filmarena, a test print with higher quality then the ones finally used for the editions.

 

 

Usually, I am not a fan of extras with no direct relation to the movie.

Coins like the ones for Jaws are nice to have but nothing more for me.

However, the Continental Coin from Filmarena included in their John Wick Maniacs Box makes perfect sense

and looks really cool.

 

 

Last but certainly not least are the extras Turbine included in their The Thing Limited Edition Box.

My favorite extras are usually books or booklets, so this one was destined to be a fave of mine:

a copy of the original short story, a 135 pages book about the production history and a copy of

the original soundtrack among other goodies is just about perfect.
