This is exactly what happens to me 😂. I don’t put movies on anymore unless it’s a task I’m really dragging me feet on and wouldn’t mind procrastinating a bit more. I also tend to throw on a show instead as I don’t get sucked into them because I’ve seen them so many times. Usually it’s Scrubs, The Office, The Simpsons, Parks & Rec, Seinfeld, or Brooklyn 99. Now, every now and then I’ll throw on a slow paced film when I want to go to sleep. Something like Office Space.

Indeed. Sometimes I wish their releases would just be absolutely terrible so that I could just walk away instead of constantly going through the... phase.

This and That (Where Great Conversations Are Happening)

We're supposed to have a heat index between 99 and 104 today... -
I’ve heard mixed things about using it for international orders. I only have personal experience with Amazon.it. They still used that flimsy mailer but the steel was in the gift bag. So I guess it was a little better. I’m sorry to hear about Bloodsport. Grindhouse (albeit at a higher price) still had it last I checked.

I always shell out the extra $3.99 for the gift wrap option. So far, it has guaranteed a box and that the steel is in one of their gift bags. It’s not perfect by any means but at least two steps above the usual form fitting bubble envelopes and paper-thin cardboard mailers I’ve received from Best Buy, Target, and Wal-mart. I’d easily pay that additional amount to any retailer who would guarantee decent packaging. It’s just that Amazon is the only one that comes close. I may adopt this plan as well - depending on how things go in the next year. Either that or just buying opened copies on the secondary market.

I wish I saw this earlier, I was just at a Best Buy that had 3 of these in stock. I could have grabbed one for you. Just know that every single one of these that I've seen in person or online has the same damage. There's definitely a production error with these.

Hmm, sounds interesting. Maybe I'll check it out. Thanks for the description and I always find it helpful to know how long it takes for a show to get its footing. I generally can push through some growing pains/changes so long as I know when it ends. -

Just looked that up as I had not heard of it. I was ready to watch a film but it’s getting harder and harder for me to sit down for a TV series nowadays. How is it as a whole? -

I think I'm going to try and watch Totally Killer today (as I continue to put off watching The Exorcist, lol). I've heard it described as Back to the Future meets Scream. Here's a trailer - just know that it is a red band trailer so it's not censored in any way. -

I also really enjoyed it. I've grown to really appreciate any attempt by a filmmaker to really embrace film as a visual medium. Too often these days films are filled with exposition so it was a breath of fresh air in that category for sure. I do think it has some story issues, particularly in the the third act and they bother me a bit more as I put more thought into it. I was honestly tempted to run it back and watch it again almost immediately to get a better grasp on it, lol. I don't know why we don't see Kaitlyn Dever getting more work. She was fantastic in Booksmart and obviously in this as well -

I'm sure it will depend on the success of Barbie 2: The Last Patriarchy -

Ah - I think they are two completely different films. I watched the 1997 Satoshi Kon film. -

Interesting. I might go look up their responses as I'm curious. I only need to go back, what, 50 pages probably 😅 Unless you just posted it. My initial thought was that the maybe they doll itself isn't really popular outside of the US but then I just saw that more 40% of the dolls are sold outside of the US (primarily Europe and Japan). It's funny you bring this up because I was just thinking earlier today if we would get a Mean Girls premium if it was released today. Now...perhaps it's the type of humor? I know we rarely have any premiums of comedies - possibly due to the fact that tastes in honor so widely vary? -

Are there multiple versions? I honestly had no idea. I couldn't tell you which one I watched. -

Unfortunately, I have also noticed that. I don't think it's a large number of people but they are definitely out there. I think there are just a good number of people who want their stuff but not so much the community. -

Oh, awesome! I'm on the Treasure Coast so a bit south of where you used to be. I haven't seen either Descent or Paranormal Activity. I'm looking to broaden my horizons a bit so I might check those out. I know Gary gave me a list quite a bit ago so I'll go back and try to find it. I enjoyed The Shining. There's really very little fault I could find with it as the story, camerawork, acting, score, etc are all top notch. I thought that Jack's descent was a little rapid, but that's about it. Though I must admit that I think The Simpsons ruined it a bit for me, lol. They did such a good job parodying the film that I felt like I'd seen it already. The only other Halloween-related films I've watched this month are Zombieland and Zombieland 2 but those are more comedies than anything. Toward the end of September I did watch Mulholland Drive and Perfect Blue (both first viewings) and they blew my mind. I pretty much got away from the film club before those came up for the same reasons you mentioned. Life just got crazy. I'll have to ask @extantsrevenge about which edition of Perfect Blue to pursue now that I've seen (and enjoyed) it. -

Glad to see you again as well! I could certainly go for some brisk weather..nothing but more of the same here in FL. Not much new here. Family life and the farm has been keeping me busy. I feel like I spend most of my hours on the mower these days although I've had a bit of a break because we've had so much rain. Are you trying to stick to the horror genre this month? I'm taking the opportunity and trying to finally watch some classics that I have been on my list for a long time. I watched The Shining for the first time last night (I know, I know). To be honest, I really miss Films Unearthed Community Kickoff. That was a nice space to watch and discuss some of these films in detail
