The premium are sorted by retailers and release date in my bedroom, the rest is in the living room sorted by alphabetical order 🙂

4 - Green: Monster Hunter

5 - Blue: Weathering With You

7 - Pink : True Romance and Your Name. I don't have a true pink so hopefully one of these count.

For the most part I just display in alphabetical order. If I have a lot of a certain retailer I will group together (ex. Mondo).

Ok, challenge 7! So, after I unfortunately missed the last two challenges, I'm back now. I hope that I meet the criteria with the selection... to be on the safe side, I have also picked out more than 5 films. 😂

The first film that has left me pretty shocked and bad sleep, was none of the selection here, but Jaws... I can still remember that I was allowed to watch it together with my parents. In retrospect, I could have done without it and waited a few more years...😅

The first movie I can remember that really creeped me out is C.H.U.D., which I watched at my neighbor's house on VHS when I was way too young. A really grimy B-movie, but a lot of fun.

My collection...Here goes: I sort left to right, top to bottom; first is box sets, in alphabetical, then Marvel, in order of release, then Mondo, since they are a set, by number, then Studio Ghibli, in alpha order, then premiums, in alpha order, then regular steels, in alpha order, although sequels go with their movies, e.g. 2 Fast 2 Furious is after The Fast and the Furious, not with the number titles, then my Criterion blus, by set number, then my Amrays, in alpha order. It's a lot @Trianna but you asked. 🙂. Thanks for the challenge! Here's what that system looks like in practice, basically a physical manifestation of my OCD:

Then I'll follow up directly with Challenge 8 today. A great, creative idea, Trianna! Here is my rainbow selection, this time I focused on steelbooks:

I sort my premiums by retailer and then alphabetically. Then I have a separate Marvel section and the OC's stand separately. Also all series together (X-Files, Sopranos, Breaking Bad etc.). The rest I have divided by format (Steelbooks, Mediabooks, Amarays). Then everything that is left.

In the multicolored exuberance that overcame me when I totally lost myself as I entered this challenging Multicolorverse (!),

I NEARLY (😇) overlooked an important part of the challenge...

Fortunately, we can rely on our MP squirrel to notice immediately if a nut is missing

So... my order? hm... complicated, complicated...

Well, first of all, it's even a LAW that my Premiums

- in ORDER that they do not fall VICTIMS to the fun free wasteland that spreads around boring mass production -

have a SPECIAL place all to themselves and are never and under no circumstances UNITed with Amarays !!!

Therefore I have separate shelves for:

• One Clicks

(combined with Steelbook| and in each case separate shelves for the individual manufacturers

(So far one shelf each for HDZeta, Blufans, Manta Lab, Novamedia, KimchiDVD, WeET, and one for the CineMuseum and the Rest...)

• Single Premium Steelbooks

(also mostly separated)

• WWA Steelbooks

have a different shelf where I separate them the way, that there is a section for "film series" or "franchises"

and one for individual films (these in turn are first classified by film studio - and within this classification by genre.

I don't use an alphabetical system as a further sub-order , but I group within the genres according to spine color.

• Premium Slips

have their own shelf too - grouped by retailer but all together in one shelf

However, this is not the case with Filmarena - here I combine the XL panties with the associated Steelbook (as far as WEA is concerned)

• One Click Boxes that contain no WEA Steelbook

have their own place and are presented without a steelbook accompanied

Mediabooks and Amarays are totally locked away and aren't presented at all in my showroom as I'm definitely not a fan of their appearance...

Yes... there are exceptions with media books, but steel books are a completely different optical world and second-rate performers have no place next to them on my shelves...

As regards the order among Non-Premiums, I'm only making a genre distinction. Besides this TV-Series have their own section apart from cinematic movies.

At the moment, however, the order has gotten very messed up - because there is a move to a larger new house by spring - and that means many treasures are already packed... Only the FIRST ORDER () remains:

Even now the Amarays are not allowed to go into the same moving boxes with the premiums...

So, are you confused enough? Then my explanation was fully successful...

Having very limited shelf space, finding the 'perfect' way to sort my editions proved quite challenging and I went through several experiments before I settled on the definitive and current presentation.

Top shelf contains Asian Premiums, sorted by country - retailer - spine number.

Second shelf has all my Criterion titles and non Premium Korean releases.

Third shelf is for regular steelbooks, sorted by director - film release date - genre.

Fourth shelf is for regular and special edition UK/US blurays, sorted by retailer - spine number/film release date - genre.

And finally my 3 UHD Club editions, being the biggest ones in my collection, need their seperate shelf where they rest next to my sountrack collection.

Challenge #7 ... coming in last minute again, but it is still Sunday night here!

While I do love a good creepy/horror movie it isn't my go to genre for collecting, so sadly don't have much new to throw in the ring from what everyone else has already posted. But I want my points dang it! So here are my few favs from my collection that do fit.

First creepy experience for me was probably staying up late waaay too early in my childhood watching X-Files, but for a movie the one that left a lasting impression was probably Chucky. Watched the original when I was in maybe 2nd or 3rd grade after my friend's older brother had rented it and left it out for us to find, having walked home from school before anybody else was there yet to stop us watching. We had each other convinced we were seeing creepy dolls following us around for months after that!
