Here is my submission for Week 5 to give you all an idea of what we’re looking for.  
 

 

1)  Edge Of Tomorrow (NovaMedia Lenticular O Card)

Back in late 2019 my push to collect steelbooks was in full swing and I found myself searching eBay and elsewhere for my favorite titles.  I happened upon this edition on eBay and it ended up being my very first premium.  When it arrived I loved the lenticular effect and went to Nova's site to grab other titles.

 

2.  Seven (Manta Labs Lenticular)

Around the same time, my first Manta Labs edition arrived for one of my favorite movies - Seven.  While I immediately went to their website, everything was sold out and I couldn't figure out how to get in on pre-orders at the time so my Manta collection would have to wait.

 

3.  Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 (WeET Lenticular)

A few months later I was trying to complete my marvel steelbook collection and found this gorgeous edition.  The deep lenticular effects amazed me and I immediately ordered the lenticular of Black Panther.

 

4.  The Raid/The Raid II (Kimchi Lenticular)

My appreciation for lenticular slips of steelbooks in full swing, I next overpaid for this duo before discovering them more reasonably priced on the Kimchi site.  Still, finding that site lead me to order a bunch of titles from Kimchi, Plain Archive and others.

 

5.  E.T. (UHD Club)

Still ignorant of Media Psychos and group buys, this past January I was fortunate enough to win this lovely edition of Spielberg's classic in a raffle group on FB.  When it arrived I was utterly blown away by the care and bespoke nature of the edition.  I did some digging and found out that UHD Club titles were available via group buy on this crazy site called Media Psychos....the rest, as they say, is history.

 I think I bought my first Blu-ray Steelbook in 2010 and then quickly got many more. At first there were only regular Steelbooks. In 2012 a Company called Blufans showed up and had 2 releases Real Steal and Rio. I can't really remember that I noticed these but then in 2013 I absoutely noticed the first release from Kimchidvd which was Terminator 2.

 

As a huge Terminator Fan there was no way that I would not get that. Compared to the Premiums we get today these first releases were rather simple. But this one had a terrific Steelbook, nice slip and a few cards.

 

I placed my order on March 29th and received it on June 26th. So it is my absolute first Premium bought and received.

 

After that I kept looking for these international premium releases, as I liked getting more than the regular Steelbook (that often did not impress so much, especially in the beginning when we still got printed backs in Germany 😲).

 

So I basically jumped at all the next releases I could find 🤣. They are Wreck-It Ralph from Blufans (#3 from them). Ordered on April 29th through a GB. This was also my 2nd arrival in September. And guess who my HUB on this very first GB I have participated in was.... it was our own @Masterblaster ☺️, so I know John for some time now and have been with him in all these years. Which means you could call this my first MP GB (even when MP was still some time away).

 

Next order was Kimchidvd #2 Le Grand Bleu (both editions).

 

Then I joined the GI Joe 2 OAB Blufans GB (2nd OAB release) on August 13th and shortly after that on August 17th I joined the Lawrence of Arabia GB from another new Company called HDzeta 😮. And somehow no one could stop this as I joined the Blufans Face/Off GB days later on August 21st. That was a busy start.

 

I received GI Joe, Lawrence of Arabia & Face/Off together early November, so these are my Premium arrivals 3-5 with Kimchi Le Grand Bleu arriving just a few days later.

 

Face/Off remains one of my favorite Steelbooks to this day. Stunning release. When I look back at these I really could have skipped the Ralph and GI Joe (that is only with a WWA SB and not really impressive). Anyway I have been part of the Premium game basically since the beginning and I'm happy to have seen them evolve to what a Premium is now.

 

Still like to collect them, but would wish for a more diverse lineup of movies getting the premium treatment, as Superhero movies have become rather dominant.

The first premium to my collection was the T2 Judgment Day DL from FAC. 

 

The first edition I received from a MP Groupbuy was the MLIFE Edition of Scott Pilgrim 

 

 

The first OC I received from a MP Groupbuy was Tenet from HDZeta

 

 

Her from Manta Lab was the second edition I received from a MP Groupbuy. I wanted the OC but that option was not available during that time so I went with the SL and I added the beautiful OC to my collection at a later date. 

 

 

 

Last up is a special one to me because it was my first Groupbuy where I was able to use my Tiered membership and join the Groupbuy for WCL The Thing and WCL Carlitos Way
