Favorite: Suspiria (Synapse BD)

Worst/Least: Mother of Tears (Dimension Extreme DVD) - After Suspiria and Inferno, this fell flat to finish the Three Mothers Trilogy.

 

George Romero:

The Crazies (Arrow BD)

Creepshow (Cinemuseum BD Set)

Favorite: Dawn of the Dead (Anchor Bay VHS)

Worst/Least: Diary of the Dead (Dimension Extreme BD) - I'm not a huge found footage fan, but done right it is great to watch, but this isn't it.

 

Lucio Fulci:

City of the Living Dead/Gates of Hell (Scorpion BD)

Zombie/Zombi 2 (Blue Underground BD)

Favorite: The Beyond (Grindhouse BD)

Worst/Least: Aenigma (Severin BD) - This one is still a great Fulci film, but just didn't catch me like others of his.

Doctor Strange Blufans DL - this simply looks incredible and was a real grail for me! So pleased I sold SL and found DL. 

Love both depth & transition lentis but chose depth this time.

Aquaman Manta DL

 

Love how detail in background adds to the depth!

Challenge 13 - TV Shows

 

Lost - Season 1, excellent transfer on Bluray and this season really drew me into the show, love the characters and all the questions raised!

 

Parks & Recreation - hope comedy is allowed for challenger? So only started to watch this during lockdown. Second season really developed characters and hilarious.

 

Midsomer Murders - classic British murder mystery. Some of the show’s best episodes in this series

 

Downton Abbey - first series really kicked things off superbly, films are great also!

 

Criminal Minds - second series featured some chilling episodes and got to know lead characters much better. Final season ended well.

My favorite type of lenticulars are the ones with depth. Here are 3 in this style. My favorite one is Blade Runner 2049 from HDzeta. The other two are Atomic Blonde from Kimchi DVD and Transformers: Age of Extinction from Blufans

First up is the awesome Terminator edition from MAG. The light-up frame is a nice touch.

 

Next is The Ultimate Matrix DVD Collection with the Neo bust

 

 

Lastly is my Complete Collection of Lost set with the stone game and other goodies

Challenge #11: Sequels

 

- Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. This is the one that I watched the most on TV growing up. The sacrifice scenes aren't something I'll ever forget.

- Rogue One. If only Disney could've brought this level of filmmaking to their other movies, the world would be a better place. This is how you respect previous movies in the franchise while adding to the story.

- Hellboy 2: The Golden Army. I think the antagonist in this one is much more interesting than in the first one. The action and cinematography are also superior IMO.

- The Mummy Returns. I think that knowing the characters already helps this one flow better. The Scorpion King is also a cool villain despite his CG

- Underworld Evolution. Learning more of the history between the lycans and the werewolves was interesting. Also, 15-year-old-me remembers that steamy scene quite fondly. 😁

 

An underappreciated movie which I've always loved is Small Soldiers. I think a sequel showing the guerrillas in Central America or wherever who end up with the toys would've been a lot of fun.

1. John wick chapter 2 : so many breathtaking action scenes and interesting settings

 

2. The godfather part2 : one of the best sequels! Robert de niro and Al pacino's youth were spectacularly wonderful

 

3. Ironman 2 : suitcase transformation scene and the battle scene with war machine is my favorite part of this movie

 

4. Lord of the rings, the two towers : the battle of helmsdeep scene still gives me chills. I really love LOTR's huge battle scenes.

 

5  The dark knight : Heath ledger's joker is my all time no.1 favorite villain😍

 

+ I really hope sequels for alita will come out someday!

Challenge 13 ‐ What's Good on TV?

 

 

1. Saved By the Bell - Quintessential 90s sitcom about life in high school that aired during my high school years. This show had the ability to make or break my Saturday mornings. Also featured one of my very first celebrity crushes in Tiffani Amber-Thieson (Kelly).

2. Downton Abbey - Some of the very best television to ever come out of the UK. Love the portrayal of the triumphs and tragedies of both the aristocracy and those in Service. 

3. That 70s Show - Yet another great comedy about life in high school in another Era. I have followed the careers of most of the main characters, whose rise to stardom can pretty much be attributed to this show.

4. Walker, Texas Ranger - My very first introduction to Chuck Norris, during the time in my life when I wanted to have a career in law enforcement. That was due in part to this show about a very non-traditional law enforcement officer who uses martial arts rather than a gun to mete out justice. And then I discovered that Chuck Norris really is a martial arts master with several black belts to his name....

5. Star Trek: The Next Generation - Probably my most favorite television show ever because I'm a huge lover of science fiction.

 

Three streaming shows I would love to have a physical release are The Witcher, The Mandalorian, and Squid Game.
