CHALLENGE #21 ‐ Love is in the Air.

Judging by the fact that all of those are DVDs you could say I had a certain phase about 20 years ago:

1. Three to Tango (Neve Campbell ❤️)

2. Out of Sight (Really liked that one - George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez have great chemistry)

3. She's All That (adorable little movie)

4. While You Were Sleeping (I like Sandra Bullock's early romantic movies, see below)

5. Forces of Nature

6. Meet Joe Black (almost forgot I had this one)

Challenge 17 from @raylight

Challenge "It Takes Two" is about team work.

So shows us your selection of 5 Movies with Action Duo's or teams/partners in action.

These teams can be the classic Cop-Teams, Gangster Duo's, teams searching for a treasure

or teams planning a big bank robbery etc.

My pic(ks) for "It Takes Two"

1. Bad Boys - buddy cop duo!

2. Edge of Tomorrow - time traveling warrior duo!

3. Lethal Weapon - the original buddy cop duo!

4. Terminator 2 - cyborg, warrior woman and her son work as a team to take down Skynet!

5. The Town - a team of Boston bank robbers going for one last score at Fenway!

IMG_1144.thumb.jpg.7c716b6ef1bea071117b2c4693d947e8.jpg

As far as which classic needs a premium, I'd have to go with Lethal Weapon. I'm surprised something more hasn't been done for this film and its sequels, but I guess I can understand why given Gibson's various controversies over the years... :/

Challenge 23: The Best of The Best

Personally I’d say my favourite genre would have to be as Sci-Fi but I’m a fan of  pretty everything, action, adventure, thriller, animation, comedy, crime, fantasy & war. Maybe not romantic movies though lol.

For this challenge I have chose the following,

1: Blade Runner 2049

2: The Matrix

3: Back to the Future

4: Interstellar

5: Dune

image.thumb.jpeg.b87cdd8ca3a105792b484634ca230b94.jpeg

As for what made me fall in love with this genre I can’t say for sure but I want to say it was either the BTTF Trilogy or the original G1 Transformers cartoon. In the early years of my life I was raised by my uncle who grew up in the 80s as a result whatever he enjoyed as a kid was shown to me from things such as Transformers, Thundercats, He-Man & TMNT just to name a few.

So no one has yet professed their love and admiration for the Superhero genre. Not that it bothers me, I just find it somewhat curious 😁

And I won’t be the first either. 😄

I couldn't really claim that the Superhero genre was my fav anyway when I think that vast majority of DC is pretty bloody awful…..

😁

I was a Marvel fanboy long before the Movies kicked in. Luckily for myself, I find the MCU extremely entertaining and believe that they give a damn good account of themselves. Just my lowly “Kids Movie” opinion of course you understand.

I have missed a few of these recently, so will try and get some submissions in tonight whist following the footy. 👍🏼

Can we make this a running list of challenges that can be accomplished at any time?  The weekly cadence is too much for me to go down to my basement, pull everything out, take photos, put them back, come here to post them, and rinse and repeat every week. I travel for work, I work long hours, I have tennis on the weekends, etc... It would be much more feasible for someone like me to be able to knock out multiple challenges at once.

I did the original 10 challenges and it became more of a chore than a fun activity.

Reason for selecting… The “Wheels” from various decades.

Bullitt - 1968 (1968 Mustang GT Fastback & 1968 Dodge Charger)

Gone in 60 Secs - 1974 (“Eleanor” 1971 Mustang Sportsroof)

Batman - 1989 (1989 Batmobile)

The Last Action Hero - 1993 (1956 Ford F-100)

Gone in 60 Seconds - 2000 (“Eleanor” 1967 GT500 Shelby)

Challenge 20 "Still Missing! Forgotten Treasures!

“This week the challenge has 2 parts….”

@extantsrevenge Blimey Nils…. What???!

I’ve been made to look a fool with stuff like this before when I discover that a Steelbook DOES exist already! 😂 How do you expect me to have such knowledge of all releases Man?!! 😄

I may have to play my “ @R1s1ngs0n “ wildcard here to get me through the challenge… 😂

As far as I am aware, these do not exist in 4K…. Waits for that egg on the face moment 😄

Challenge 21 "Love is in the Air"

Nope… Bang goes my “Perfect record” PASS! 😂

Challenge 22 “Adaptation”

OK… So not the same Franchise… ie MCU…. In my book these are all separate. I have a shed load more examples like this, but cannot bring myself to destroy the library. But you get the picture…

Week 23!

De best of de best movies!

Actually, I can't say that I have a favorite genre. But, I guess I'll have to give it to epics for the scale of production and storytelling. They are the moviest of movies after all, and these are some of the most epic of (Hollywood) epics.

IMG_20230228_144146.thumb.jpg.547984c8cdef898f085402965e31cd3d.jpg

"The Godfather Trilogy" as a whole

"Gone with the Wind"

"Saving Private Ryan"

"Titanic"

"The Middle Earth Saga" as a whole (The box is on the floor sideways, so that I can open the box right up to the super-heavy set)

I know I'm a little late to this but just thought I put in my two cents. Thank you to @Chief_lookout  for this challenge #16! Here is my top ten favorite movies.

1. The Equalizer 1

2. The Equalizer 2

3. King of New York (Abel Ferrara truly brought out the roughness of New York in the early 90's)

4. Point Break (1991) (I would really love to see a steelbook of this movie, just brings back great memories for me. Patrick and Keanu were just superb, beautiful chemistry. I'd probably hope that either Cinemuseum or Manta Lab would do a 1 click, DL and a SL)

5. The Wolf of Wall Street

6. The Dark Knight (A classic film and I believe was one of Heath Ledger's best role before his passing)

7. Batman Returns

8. Devil’s Advocate (This movie definitely deserves a steelbook, a classic IMO. Not sure why no company has released one yet)

9. Watchmen (2009)

10. Batman Begins

Thanks to  @extantsrevenge  for this challenge #20. It wasn't easy but at least I tried and put the effort in. 😀

I'll do more challenges as I keep up!

Part 1: 5 movies that I love but only have on DVD and wouldn't mind being released on blu-ray!

1. Gotti (1996) (Great film and brilliant acting by Armand Assante. He really captured the true essence of that life)

2. Death to Smoochy (Hilariously funny, dark comedy at it's best)

3. Bullet (1996)

4. The Ref

5. Chappelle's Show Season 1 (This one which is definitely not a movie but TV comedy sketch show. Didn't have much options)

IMG_0103.thumb.JPG.634b221da09e621395956181c6e54710.JPG

Part 2: A few movies I would definitely want to get a steelbook release of if they ever release one!

1. Body of Lies

2. Double Impact

3. Eyes Wide Shut

4. The Cable Guy

5. Quick Change

6. The Dream Team

Western ist taking it to another level thanks to @Jason Haskins 😃, but Sci-Fi is already retaliating with a double punch @MoneySniper @Mrdugan

@camwjohn95 no favorite Genre 😲, what should I write in our ranking now.... I will use Long Epic Movies as a filler, as everything you showed has a longer runtime 😅

Looks like Sci-Fi has increased its lead after the 3rd round. This was a slow round, hopefully the punches fly in round 4.

The current favorite Genre Ranking is:

15 x Sci-Fi

2 x Action

2 x Fantasy

2 x Thriller

2 x Western

1 x Animated

1 x Gangster

1 x Long Epic Movies

Thank U GIF by Fergie

@Siran for taking advantage of the chance to do old challenges, really appreaciate this. It looks like you have a fantastic collection, great merchandise 😲. Most likely you will get more chances to do other old challenges in the future.

Nice entry for #17 @MikeH5856

Thanks @Pbsw23 for also taking the opportunity to get back into the game.

@Peter Manoukian there actually is a UK Steelbook from 2013 for Point Break, I have it ☺️.

@Tonic24k it is very possible that older challenges open up more regularly for members that have not completed these. You can always prepare several picture at one time and then use a chance like now to catch up on some of the missed challenges.
