After hearing alot about the film "Network" I was finally able to see it on hbo max. This was an amazing watch with great dialogue and acting, with themes that are so relevant today. If you wanna see some of the best monologues in film then watch this masterpiece.

mike not being funny here but why do you just copy the write up of the films rather than what you actually thought of them?

because it still does not tell me if you thought it was actually any good or not?

or if was a one watch film or if it was a pile of pants?

the point of the thread is to give an opinion and people can then decide from a persons viewpoint instead of a write up necessarily

 

even out of 1 to 5.

 

example Reminiscence i thought about buying this but not sure if is a one watch film and i dont need to spend £30 for a steelbook?

had you given me its brilliant and could be watched again and again i could go buy it or its a one watch deal and barely worth that i could leave it alone and save some money.

Maybe or not I’ll give @Basil my 1- 5 rating when finished (if I do 😂)! 😛 

 

UPDATE:

 

I’m a little biased as Jason is one of my fav action man… your typical gun-fire/sword fighting, blood-letting, however it was done very well choreographically and the HD production was superb…

 

sooo it gets my highest rating a 5!

I realise that I am wayyyyy behind the curve on this one, but this week I finished The Book of Boba Fett on Disney+

 

Now I should point out that I am not a big Stars Wars fan, I guess if I were I would have watched it when it was first released. But I did enjoy this quite a lot. Obviously this forms a part of the wider Mandalorian storyline which I have also watched, and I am unsure how this has been met by the Hardcore SW fans, but for me I would recommend this to others.

 

Some interesting new characters for the franchise to play with like Krrsanran the ex Gladiator Wookiee, and I’m a fan of Ming Na Wen anyway, but her portrayal of Fennec Shand is equally entertaining.
 

Basically, if you like to binge watch series and are lost for a new and relatively short watch (7 episodes) then I’d give this the nod.

this was truly a mismash of a film from one of my fav actors, the premise of this film was alright, however the dialogue lacked any substance and it looked like a cabbage patch quilt put together, meh 1.5/5 ☹️

UPDATE: a very good ‘Ol-fashioned gothic style horror film that has one of my fav horror actors Lon Chaney Jr. and a British actress Diane Clare I enjoy who was also in another gothic horror film I enjoy the 1963 film The Haunting… 5/5 for me!

UPDATE: enjoyed this one (finally! 😛) as it had some great European locations (when are they going to learn more beautiful European landscapes or any beautiful landscapes for that matter make a film(s) so much better! )… 4.5/5

UPDATE: a werewolf film that kinda reminded me of 2 TV series’ Bitten & The Originals (they were vampires also in this one)… 3/5

Everything Everywhere All at Once was a great movie! One of the best movies of the year and is currently #1 on my 2022 watchlist.  Very creative, well thought out writing, and great acting all around.  The fanny pack of Waymond was a great easter egg since he was the Richard Wang from The Goonies. There’s other cool easter eggs in the movie too.

UPDATE: Excellent storyline of a hardened Roman Military Tribune who finally finds REAL LIFE in the RISEN Messiah our Lord Jesus Christ… with a fantastic 4K transfer… 5/5

 

The epic story of Judah Ben-Hur, a prince falsely accused of treason by his adopted brother Messala, an officer in the Roman army. Stripped of his title, separated from his family and the woman he loves, Judah is forced into slavery. After years at sea, Judah returns to his homeland to seek revenge, but an encounter with Jesus leads him to the Crucifixion, where he discovers forgiveness and finds redemption.

 

 

UPDATE: This had it all with excellent action, intrigue, faith and pulled at my heart strings ( yes I did shed a tear or 2 😢)… the slave galley with it’s pulsating drum beat was superb and then the chariot horse challenge was so good… this has to be in my top 5 fav films 🎥 of all-time❣️5/5

Yesterday, I watched Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore in Dolby Cinema and it was a decent movie.  I liked it more than the second but the first one is still the best. It’s more coherent. Mads played a good Gindlewald and I feel like he plays the role better than Johnny Depp.

After that, I've watched "L.A. Confidential", for the xxxxxx time. Just wanted to watch something amazing.
