A Quiet Place (Umania):
Well, Umania really has made their point here. I would go out on a limb and say that this edition is one of the most lovingly designed ones I've had the pleasure of adding to my collection so far. Let's start with the fullslip:The "Ssshhhh"- gesture of Emily Blunt is basically the main theme of the film and therefore superbly chosen, in addition there are really cool glaze and embossing effects in a black-red-silver look - everything fits together perfectly and looks great! The steel itself is also a delicacy: Matching motif, high-gloss surface and beautiful embossing - that's what you wish for. The attention to detail I mentioned at the beginning of this edition is also noticeable in the fact that both the booklet and the artwork cards have been packed in extra envelopes that are "sealed" with UMania stickers. That really adds up to a great unboxing experience! After I was already really impressed by their Joker fullslip (more on that below), with this edition UMania has really turned into a retailer for me, which I will definitely keep an eye on! And, oh yes, only this much about the film itself: In my eyes, the suspense is hard to beat and it's a real "insider tip" - if you haven't seen it yet, you should definitely catch up!

 

Joker (Mantalab):
The conclusion straight away: The edition will unfortunately only be temporarily on my shelf. In my eyes, Manta has clearly been too late with the edition, which means that the UMania edition of Joker mentioned above has already secured a permanent place in my collection. Its fullslip quality and level to detail are really unsurpassed, Manta's is not even close to that. One major argument is of course the WEA steel, which is why I got this edition in the first place. So the plan is that the fancy WEA will be moved to the UMania FS, which will make the perfect edition for me. The Manta slip will then be given away with the WWA. It's a bit sad, but I'm not collecting for the sake of completion or retailers etc. but to have the most beautiful edition of my favorite movies. And sometimes that requires some switch-a-roo.

My newly arrived beauty and it is absolutely gorgeous 🤩 Read elsewhere that people were disappointed with Manta's recent offerings since they changed their distributor.

Can't speak for their Joker since I don't have it but I am very pleased with how this one turned out. And the steelbook itself is a thing of beauty 😊

My Joker steel also had quite a few marks on it so yeah ... not completely satisfied ..

Same here, the box and the slips were perfect but the one steelbook I opened had quite a few scratches. And it being black and very glossy, they are quite noticeable. I was pretty disappointed to be honest. 

 

Again, I cant post pictures because my phone camera broke a couple days ago, but maybe when i get home I'll pull out the old galaxy s3 and take some pictures 😂

Oh nooo makes me scared to open mine. Think ill keep it boxed up for now. Have you emailed them pics to see if you can get a replacement steel?? Heard there suposoed to be quite helpful on that front..

Wow... Im so sorry to hear that... 😪

To be honest I didn’t like their Joker WEA and that’s why I didn’t buy it. I just knew that HDZeta is going to release it too so I just hope is better.

 

The one that I totally missed is Cine Museums edition. I like that WWA design (The one with the car in fire) more than Mantas, haha. Thats a new for me.

Funny thing is the phones I had before this one is practically unusable because the screen is messed up and the one before that has the glass on the camera shattered so the pictures come out all blurry and "dirty"  that's why i said I'll have to dig up my really  old phone

Oh OK, I was thinking maybe tablet or something.  My Ipad camera isn't far behind my phones. Just thinking if you leave it too late they may not help. Hopefully you can dig that old phone out and get it sorted pal 👍

Thanks, I wasnt a big fan of the steelbook art to begin with(I like the back) but then again I didnt like any of the WWA all that much more either. 

 

I'm getting the CM, and HDz ones as well though im not really holding out hope for zeta to come in with the last minute save and give us an amazing steelbook
