The original Canadian steelbook did have the swastika. We can only hope that Zavvi have censored the beauty shots and that the original plates are being used to produce the same steelbook as previously released in Canada. But as its now a European release my money is on that it will probably be censored, especially on the slips.

But dispite this issue I have still ordered the boxset. I may drop it once the premiums are all confirmed/ group buys are open. Fingers crossed for a Hdzeta silver boxset. 🤞

I really hope, HDzeta comes through. Because as good as the Manta Release was, it would be nice to have less blurry lentis,- the only weakness of the Manta release, imho.

This is probably because of German law, which forbids any media displaying the swastika. First I can remember of it was in Call of Duty: World at War. So it's likely out of laziness to release the same design for the entire continent. It irks me a bit as a UK buyer, but not enough to seek out the Best Buy version. I'm too lazy as well 😄

Well, the simple solution would be to just not sell it on zavvi.de thereby putting any legalese responsibility on the buyer (if;German=true) if that's the case.

Totally unrelated note, I missed it completely - sleeping and working was at least nicer to my wallet who's in tears due to ongoing high cost shenanigans, and no - it's not premiums :P

You could still request in our General zavvi GB, you might be lucky if you want the Box.

I was able to get the Complete Basterds Edition ordered direct from Zavvi and didn't even notice the censorship until I was catching up on threads over here. Can anyone explain the ridiculous decision to do this especially when it is used all throughout the film and the eagle is just as much a part of the symbolism so why not remove it entirely? I just don't understand what this is supposed to accomplish especially when you can currently order this on their site right now! Who makes these nonsensical decisions?
