🚨🚨MY ULTIMATE ONE-CLICK GRAIL ARRIVED TODAY 🚨🚨

image.gif.d5aea61d4b206e09f6a87c39c4ef0c52.gif

I have now been collecting movie steelbooks for 3 years now and within my first week of collecting I discovered what Premium's/ WEA steelbook were. Since then this OC has been on my wish list, however due to it’s ridiculous price I just couldn’t justify throwing that amount of money but I came across a listing which was a lot less then everything else I’ve ever seen and it was a now or never situation for me.

Without further ado I will like to present Blade Runner 2049 by Filmarena.

I can finally retire a happy psycho knowing this is in my collection.

Now that this is in my collection I almost have every Blade Runner 2049 steelbook which I’ve wanted. The only other release which I’m after is the Blufans OAB & the HDzeta SL which I’ve never come across yet.

That's a real beauty, congratulations! So are you going to open it, or keep it sealed?

He definitely opened it – – or at least the outer plastic, and then remove the contents. I’ve got it myself, and can attest that it is one beautiful set to own!

I’m a sealed collector so it’ll be staying sealed.

The FS which you see in the picture I had bought last year or the year before?

Indeed, now, I see you just displayed the single full slip along with some other editions. Having opened mine and pawed through it, however, I can tell you it was worth opening and enjoying! I figure it will still have good retail value when I have to sell it to move into a nursing home 😜

Yep that’s the one 😂, It looks like a real beauty. Also having matching numbers across all 3 slips is also even cooler as well.

If I remember correctly, HDz had a damaged batch of WWA steelbooks for that release.
So only approximately 300 were made with a steelbook inside. There were approximately 200 empty slips released instead. Everything inside except the steelbook. No numbers and no stickers. I’ve got one of the DL empty slips with the HMV steelbook inside. I personally prefer that slip. Both lentis are superb and clear of “scribble”.

A few more new items. To Kill a Mockinbird 4K CE was the only item I bought on the recent Prime day. I highly recommend the Bloodsport Stellbook, it is fantastic. I wish we would get much more Steelbooks with such great embossing, reminds me of the early days when most of the UK Steelbooks had embossing.

So I’ve been thinking lately about my collection and which features of a premium release are most important to me.

For me it probably would be the title itself, high quality original and creative package design and original exclusive artwork for the steels (or MP Case).

Im curious what’s most important to you guys?

All of the above! A lot of consideration about the title itself. If I already have a copy, or it’s not my favorite movie in the world, then I’m pickier about what characteristics constitutes a premium purchase.

Either original design or unique/rare artwork for both the slip and steel are important for sure. Spider-Man MAG trilogy for example. Though for me there are cases where the films standard art is already amazing to begin with, or has historically been neglected. Example: 2001 has some iconic art, so releases that simply do justice to that art win me over.

I find myself thinking a lot about the spine design—how will it look on my shelf? Is it clean? That’s the part you’ll most often see, at least the way my collection is organized. Clean design is key. I’ve shied away from some releases simply because the spine is too busy.

One clicks, for me, are harder to justify given limited shelf space, so it’s really got to be above and beyond, or a favorite of mine.

Finally I consider which disc is present as well. If it’s a 4K release and I’ve only got the BD, then that’s an easy purchase.

Apart from having to be a movie I love, it has to have both a decent steel AND a good slipcase. I passed on many Premiums that had great fullslips but 💩 steels.

Likewise, I’ll always favor buying a nice barebone steel if the deluxe edition comes with a subpar slipcase.
I’m also averse to the idea of swapping steels/amarays/discs between different editions, so Frankensteining an ultimate edition is out of the question.

No double dipping, unless a newer, superior edition comes along that will eventually replace an existing one in my collection.

Except for UC’s wooden beauties, jumbo editions are a no-go for me, but otherwise, give me a nice steel, quality booklet and slipcase and I’m happy.

Besides being a movie I at least like a lot, when I buy a premium edition I’d prefer to have essays, press photos, behind the scenes stuff included in a booklet, like Arrow, Indicator, Criterion, and other boutique labels do.

I’ve voiced this frustration before, but It seems *some* companies just put in a handful of character cards, some postcards, and maybe a photo book (the latter is my pet peeve, it’s a lazy move to me). I’d rather have some essays and more “substance” over “style” (though the outer box should be beautiful). Whether a release includes an amaray case instead of a steelbook doesn’t bother me so much.

Also, for one-click boxes, I vastly prefer the HDZETA, Blufans, Filmarena Maniacs model of including vastly different printed items within each individual edition. For example the Aliens and Blade Runner 2049 Maniacs boxes do just that; each individual edition in a one-click has different stuff in each included edition.

Some companies don’t do that, which is my main gripe with Manta Lab: all of the editions included in a one-click have identical printed items in each one. The OC boxes, lenticular, fullslips and steelbooks are all unquestionably some of the highest quality currently being released, but the included stuff is identical and redundant.

Obviously, it has to be a movie that I like.

The artwork has to appeal to me and I mostly prefer a good FS over a Lenticular (no Lenticular beats these Weet and EB FS editions)

My favourite goodies are books and booklets giving me additional info (Second Sight, Arrow shine here). Stuff thats totally redundant for me are toys, puzzles, models and so on.

I can live with stuff refering to the movie, like the tooth for Jaws but a T2 puzzle and coins is just stupid stuff for garbage bin.

Also, I like variety in packaging for a movie. I´d rather have an amaray with wea artwork then two identical steels in an OC (good example is CM Jaws edition)

The same goes for digipacks and of course the beautiful UHD Club wooden boxes.  I ll have these over a mediocre steelbook any day.

One thing I dont really like is the stingy move to have the same extras in every edition like Manta and Weet do. Thats why I miss HDzeta and FAC Maniacs so much and appreciate Blufans releases.
