Hello to all Psychos.

 

I have the great honor to offer you today the new challenge number 14.

 

A big thank you to Nils @vengeance for assisting me in the development of the latter 👏

 

So I present to you:

 

CHALLENGE 14 : THE ANIMALS

 

 

For this weeks challenge we would like you to show us 5 different animals on 5 different editions.

 

Every type of animal is allowed. Whether they are domestic, wild, aquatic, imaginary or legendary, everything counts.

In the tradition of challenge 4 & 10 the challenge seems quite simple to achieve, so we are going to limit the allowed editions to Steelbook, Premium, Mediabook & Digipack releases. No simple Amarays or DVDs will be accepted.

 

Please also share with us what your favorite animal is and tell us why.

As tradition dictates 😉, I put my participation first:

 

1/ KONG : Gorille

For my part, my favorite animal is undoubtedly the Orca that I had the chance to approach several times at MARINELAND in Antibes in France.

 

 

I sincerely hope that this new challenge will amuse you a little.

My fav animal is a dog, the best dog, the smartest dog . . . our dog!

My other fav animal is a Wookie.

Challenge 13… here we go.

 

I am not buying si much serial in bluray. But here is my small selection

 

1 - Halo

I was a fan of the video game when I was 20. So naturally I like this serial. I love master chief most of all.

 

2 - The Shield

I like this crazy serial where cops are also burglars. 
 

3 - Flash

As a DC and flash fans, I had to own them. But it is really becoming less and less good years after years.

 

4 - Supergirl

I don’t find anything good to say about this serial 😅. But at least, it is not so bad.

 

5 - The Walking Dead

One word will be enough : Rick.

My favorite Animal should be no Secret for anyone that has seen a few of my posts or looked at my profile picture.

 

Squirrels

I love everything about them, so cute, so funny and always hungry for nuts. Such a great joy to have them visit in the garden all the time. Simply the best.

CHALLENGE # 14: ANIMALS

 

 

 

We've got a mouse, a rabbit, a shark, an elephant and a dog.

 

My favourite animals are probably Rosellas (especially Crimson and Eastern Rosellas).

 

 

 

Just something about their colours does it for me.

 

They're generally peaceful birds that just go about their day and can make great companions.

I'm assuming those are your three dogs.   Or is the one in the first pic and the last pic a different dog?

That bully, geez, what cutie.   Is it time we start a dog thread on this forum?  How can we tie it in to Steels/Premiums?

 

Oh, and are you an archeologist?  Some impressive pieces in your collection.

Challenge 13: What’s Good on TV

 

I choose to watch most of my favorite series by streaming or with a digital copy - mostly because I tend to binge and don’t like getting up to change discs. That being said, I do still have physical copies of a TV series in my collection and tend to pick up new ones if the proper opportunity comes along. Anyway…

 

 

1 - Band of Brothers: Arguably one of the greatest miniseries ever made. In addition to a well-written story (while staying fairly accurate), I absolutely love the cinematography in this series.

 

2- The Victor Borge Collection: I wasn’t introduced to this talented fella until I started dating my wife. This is just a lovely combination of musical talent, comedy sketches, and word play. Inflationary language is probably my favorite bit of his.

 

3 - Jeeves and Wooster: Again, I was late to this one and didn’t discover it until after House ended. You can see this edition is, well, “loved” because it has received a lot of play. Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry play so well off of each other and some of the secondary characters crack me up.

 

4- Mr. Bean: Do I really need to explain anything here? Well-written sketches combined with Rowan’s characteristic goofiness and physical comedy makes this one of my absolute favorites. 
 

5 - Planet Earth: This series was my introduction to HDTV. Truly a groundbreaking series not only in that sense but also for getting us closer to nature than we had ever been. 
 

As far as series I would like to see receive a physical release: The Mandalorian, Andor, and Loki come to mind.

5. Donkey from Shrek

As far as a favorite animal…otters. All of them. They’re cute, playful, and just super fun to watch.

Week 14 Psycho Challenge

 

When Animals Attack!

 

Thanks @coupelle for another fun challenge!  A little tougher than I expected particularly if trying to avoid some of the obvious ones.

 

1.   The Mack daddy of cinematic “animals” has to be King Kong and he’s in rare form in Godzilla vs. Kong

 

2.  Lamb.  What can I say about this one except it’s a cool cover and an intriguing movie.

 

3.  Dory in Finding Dory is one of my favorites and the Kimchi Lenticular is gorgeous.  

4.  Remu the Rat in  Ratatouille is another favorite.

 

5.  As a bit of an homage to the upcoming Cocaine Bear, the original flavor rabid bear in Prophecy freaked me out as a kid

6.  Finally more metaphors than actual animal, but I do love cats so Cat O’ Nine Tails was an obvious choice to include.

 

As for favorite animals?  I grew up as a avowed cat guy but my wife converted me 5 years ago when we rescued our first dog, Oreo. Then came the next rescue little Polly pocket and most recently Honey Bun!.  More loyal and loving animals I’ve never met and my nightly movie watching companions.

I don't have so much series as physical medium.

 

however, some of my favourites are available.

 

1. Breaking bad

Great story and actors.  I have several editions, but the barrel is the best of all.

 

 

 

2. Babylon 5

For me one of the best Sci-fi series. I wish I had all episodes as BR in a nice bossed steel case or similar.

 

 

 

3. Game of Thrones

One of the best series all time.

 

 

 

4. Spartacus

Not to bad, good for some evenings entertainment.

 

 

 

5. Doctor's Diary

I don't like this terrible German series, but was a fav of my wife for a long time.

 

 

I would like to have the following series as BR in hand (unfortunately all only as stream available)

- Mandalorian

- Stranger Things

- Wednesday
