1. Body of Lies   (Leonardo DiCaprio as Roger Ferris and Russell Crowe as Ed Hoffman)

2. Spy Game   (Brad Pitt as Tom Bishop and Robert Redford as Nathan D. Muir)

3. Django Unchained   (Christoph Waltz as Dr. King Schultz and Jamie Foxx as Django)

4. Ted 2   (Mark Wahlberg as John Bennett and Seth MacFarlane as the character and voice of Ted)

5. The Score   (Robert De Niro as Nick Wells and Edward Norton as Jack Teller)

And IMO, I would like to see a premium release of Body of Lies. I watch this movie till this day and never get tired of it.

CHALLENGE 32: THE STICKY END

I thought I'd done this one, but it seems that I didn't, so here it is. :) I'm going with Option A for all five selections.

IMG_3495.thumb.jpg.fc3cd05963ae06b85d98a0e9bd64d66c.jpg

1. Roy Batty (Blade Runner). What a gloriously poignant end for that character. For part of the movie, you think his end will be an Option B, but then he delivers that speech and it becomes all Option A.

2. Éponine Thénardier (Les Misérables). Beautiful, heartbreaking sacrifice, and Samantha Barks plays the character perfectly in the film (and stage) version.

3. Maximus Decimus Meridius (Gladiator). The finale of the film gives a simultaneous Option A and Option B, but it's the Option A death that leaves me in tears every time.

4. Chirrut Îmwe (Rogue One). For me, one of the classic scenes of battlefield salvation. Chirrut demonstrates unwavering faith, and through his death he brings his best friend back to faith.

5. Boromir (The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring). There are things I like and don't like about this adaptation of one of my favorite books, but Boromir's death scene is perfect. Nobody dies in a movie like Sean Bean.

Ultimate sticky end: I don't think any of these is more "ultimate" than the others, but since this is a challenge where series are allowed, I'll go with the death of Kanan in Rebels. That series built up such connection and emotion with the protagonists, and when he sacrifices himself to enable the crew to achieve victory on Lothal . . . tears flowed freely. Such a good conclusion to a peak–Star Wars story. I love those characters so much, I wish they wouldn't bring them back in live-action, or even in another animated series. Let them remain perfect.

Thanks to @Scary Hair for creating this challenge #32. Also thank you to @extantsrevenge for letting us do older challenges!

"THE STICKY END"

Here's my contribution for this challenge as follows.

The Antagonist

1. The Glimmer Man   (Donald Cunningham gets pushed out the second story window by Lt. Jack Cole and gets crucified on the fence with the tip of the spear piercing under his chin and into his mouth)

2. The Revenant   (John Fitzgerald is killed in a very gruesome way with a knife and axe)

The Protagonist

3. The Untouchables   (Jim Malone is gunned down with an insane amount of bullets in him by Al Capone's henchman Frank Nitti)

The Sticky End

4. Hard Target   (Emil Fouchon thought he had the grenade under control when he tried to defuse it after Chance Boutreaux shoved it down his pants but he was definitely wrong as it exploded while he held it in his hand and blows him into pieces)

Trying to catch up to some challenges I missed.

Challenge 31: Did that really happen?

1. Schindler's List

2. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre

3. Apollo 13

4. Lawrence of Arabia

5. The Ten Commandments

6. Spartacus

Turns out almost all my movies are not based on true stories, other than these ones.

Challenge 34: Days of Future Past

1. Blade Runner

2. Back to the Future Part 2

3. Edge of Tomorrow

4. X-men Days of Future Past (had to add this because it ironically was set in 2023 for part of it)

The prediction I would have liked to have come true was from Back to the Future Part 2 with the Cubs winning the World Series in 2015.  Thankfully, the prediction wasn't far off, and the Cubs took the crown in 2016 after failing in 2015!

Challenge 25 still evades me, and still need to submit 24, 28, 29, 32, and 35, but that will have to wait for another night.  🌙

Going to start trying to catch up on these challenges. There’s some I’ve seen I won’t be able to complete (yet) but maybe one day!

In no particular order, starting with challenge #8 @Trianna

Taste the Rainbow

Red - Shaun of the Dead

Orange - Flash Gordon

Yellow - The Lego Movie

Green - The Incredible Hulk

Light Blue - In Bruges

Purple - Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

Pink - Baby Driver

IMG_3221.thumb.jpeg.57ebbb8c26209c07f22b3291ca3171b5.jpeg

Had so much fun on this one, made another rainbow with only Disney steelbooks! 😁

Red - Bolt

Orange - The Lion King

Yellow - The Rescuers Down Under

Green - Bambi

Light Blue - Basil, The Great Mouse Detective

Purple - Aladdin

Pink - Alice in Wonderland (Mondo)

IMG_3226.thumb.jpeg.e79fcdfd068056eba9858db8b60c980d.jpeg

Most of my collection is ordered alphabetically except a few things like Disney, MCU, Star Trek and Star Wars.

Thank you to @Mrdugan for creating this challenge #26. Also thanks to @extantsrevenge for allowing us to do older challenges.

Here is my submission for challenge #26, "Women in Film"

1. Point Break   (Director Kathryn Bigelow)

2. Leon the Professional   (Actress Natalie Portman)

3. There's Something About Mary   (Actress Cameron Diaz)

4. The Specialist   (Actress Sharon Stone)

5. Salt   (Actress Angelina Jolie)

My personal favorite woman in film would have to be Jennifer Lawrence. She's smart, funny, enthusiastic, serious when needed to be, adaptable in any role. Her approach to acting is something that I haven't seen in an actress for a while.

My second submission (thanks for opening these back up @extantsrevenge) for these challenges is for Challenge #4 from @raylight

Drives Me Crazy

1. Dragon in How to Train your Dragon - I’d choose this type of transport every time, you know if it was real.

2. Train in Snowpiercer - original 2013 Bong Joon Ho film. Managed to catch this in the cinema as part of a film festival - loved it!

3. Ectomobile (formerly ambulance) in Ghostbusters Afterlife

4. Car in The Fast and the Furious

5. Starship in Star Trek Into Darkness - although gotta say wouldn’t want to be on this ship the state it’s in on this steelbook cover!

Here for challenge #7 from @Pbsw23

Creepin’ It Real

I’m not a huge fan of horror but throw in a vampire and I’m in! So not much really creeps me out, except maybe the types of scene set up where you can ‘feel’ the pain - arm-cutting in 127 Hours anyone? 😫

1. It Follows

2. Maniac (2012 Elijah Wood remake)

3. The Mist

4. The Birds

5. Only Lovers Left Alive

IMG_3376.thumb.jpeg.49e54ba05281a80cfc5c8a8d183b0757.jpeg

Had to throw in the DVD of Maniac as it’s pretty special one, signed by Elijah Wood himself! Happened to catch him after a Q&A evening at a film festival - so nice.
