Everyone there is also a specific reason why the challenge is made like it is 😁, we still need those Monsters/Aliens/Creatures for something else.

1255463263_StormyNightSkyLogo_free.gif.5cd5a9274251caa984721f775c132b75.gif

has still another great "Thing" coming 😲

Actually the first time I saw Alien, my mother switched off the TV when the scene at the table came 🤣, she was scared and I and my brother complained why we could not continue to watch. Anyway for me Alien is among the greates Sci-Fi ever with the best creature ever created, so we keep it out 😜

Never said Ghostbusters was a Horror did I. ☺️

The Thing is an Alien right… which I listed as not considered. And predominantly Ghostbusters is all about…. Well Ghosts. 🤷🏼‍♂️😁

If it makes you feel any better, I suggested rated 15 and up which would have meant Ghostbusters doesn’t count.

Looking forward to your submission now Mr. Bond… 😉😂

Before I post my submission, I would like to make it clear that if my perfect streak is broken due to your warped logic...

Challenge 7 — thank you, @Pbsw23!

Pictured here are some horror boxsets from Second Sight — Dawn of the Dead, Dog Soldiers, and The Witch — along with Criterion’s Night of the Living Dead, and An American Werewolf in London from Arrow. Hopefully this meets all the proper criteria!

First movie that creeped me out? 🤔 Probably A Nightmare on Elm Street! Back in the day, our ABC affiliate used to do midnight horror showings and my parents wouldn’t let me stay up to watch it and were very concerned about it giving me nightmares. I taped it and watched it in the warmth of a Sunday morning. And proceeded to have the crap scared out of me! 😂

As far as this debate on The Thing and Alien as horror movies, count me among those confused as to how this is even a debate in the first place. They are both absolutely horror films, 100%, fullstop, and are classics among the genre. 😁🍻

Resubmission

Thanks @extantsrevenge

Replacement for Wizard of Oz & Coco

Ghostbusters Afterlife

Not a patch on the first one obviously but better than the 2016 Mellisa McCarthy drivel

It was not a bad film, and the cameos at the end were very delightful 🙂

Train to Bussn / Peninsula

Love this zombie franchise

Koreans showing how it should be done

Really glad @ksosk arranged the GB for Peninsula premium

Also, in answer to the question of which film first & truly freaked me out...

It is all werewolves

I was a huge Michael Jackson fan growing up in the 80s

Then my uncle showed my Thriller

I must have been 5 years old or something, I ran out of the room when he transformed

That scene scared me shi*less

A few years after, I then watched American Werewolf in London

I must have been about 8 or 9

I remember recording it on VHS... I was really scared

I kept thinking the Werewolf will come out of the tape lol.

Gave me sleepless nights, I eventually ended up throwing the VHS tape away lol.

Talk about mental scars lol..

Challenge 7

Part of me wanted to submit exclusively sci-fi horror here just to be a pain in the ass…..Event Horizon, The Blob (remake), Xtro, Slither and The Hidden would have been my submissions.  All five are definitely horror and great films…..but….I’m a team player so here are my entries.

1.  The Omen (Scream Factory Box Set)

I saw the original Omen back when I was 9 or 10 and it scared the living hell out of me.  The creepy babysitter….the scene in the graveyard…oy vey.  I couldn’t sleep for a week.86C18DBF-1DF7-4BA1-AA50-F2154867F81F.thumb.jpeg.aff4d1a03f92f084509b2dd46abf3f60.jpeg

2) The Exorcist (Black Barons)

This one also is one of the scariest movies I ever saw and I had the misfortune of seeing it as a kid too…Scarred for life.D2D06CAB-481B-4C02-88D1-BE6B400A9642.thumb.jpeg.e808abd2946d512ba1aeedeac46b866b.jpeg

3) Demons 1 & 2 (Arrow)

I remember seeing the original Demons on video back in the 80s and it was probably the first Italian horror I’d seen.  Thoroughly bonkers and - to me then - quite scary.

Challenge 7

So, the first movie that creeped me out was "the tale of the mummy" from 1998.

I must have been around 11 when I watched it and I'm still not a fan of mummy films 20 years later 😅😱 (and I must say I am not a horror fan at all, I'm a bit jumpy 🤣 ) Vampire films are ok though 😁

I tried to find some things from my collection to qualify without going with the obvious Universal Monsters collection.

- Sleepy Hollow

- I Frankenstein

- Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

-The Wolfman

- Salem's lot

Thanks for Challenge #7, @Pbsw23 ! 👻

I'm honest, I'm not a big fan of horror movies.

I'm just a little Minion and perhaps not tough enough for all these creepy, bloody films.

despicable me minions GIFdespicable me minions GIF

But, tastes are sometimes different and that's fully OK. 😇

I think first real "horror movie" I saw was a zombie movie (dont know the title) which was disgusting. There was a creature which pushed someone onto a nail which was on the wall he pushed his head deeper and deeper into this big nail...and his eye...😵🤢No way...nothing for my shy Minion eyes...

Nevertheless I have managed it to find some movies which hopefully fit in this weeks challenge:

  • Wolfman (no Halloween without a Werewolf)
  • End of Days - Nacht ohne Morgen (Hunting the most evil thing: the devil himself) remark: I want a german Blu-ray release and/or a Premium of this title!
  • Abraham Lincoln: Vampirjäger (hunting vampires)
  • John Carpenters: Vampire
  • Van Helsing
  • Underworld
  • *backup* not sure if this one could also count: Ghost Rider ?!?

@Pbsw23 @extantsrevenge since I didn't want to take any risk and end up being told by either of you "sorry, that one doesn't qualify as horror/monster/etc. I included all movies in my collection that in my opinion could count for this challenge.

1. Jaws - the squirrel thinks it's a monster movie but I beg to differ. A great white shark terrorizing beachgoers at a summer resort is not a monster because it's an actual predator, unlike King Kong or Godzilla, who are fictioal creations not based in reality. But I will understand if this one doesn't count towards the challenge as for me, it's more a dramatic thriller rather than an actual horror movie.

2. Peeping Tom - another one that can be controversial. But if Psycho is considered horror, then this one is a given. Both films were released in the same year but Michael Powell's psychological horror masterpiece was all but ignored (or rather, completely misunderstood) while Psycho, an inferior movie imho, got all the plaudits and box office success.

3. Gremlins - should be a lock.

4. Little Shop of Horrors - that is horror in plural. Another win for Audrey 2.

5. Eraserhead - this one is the definition of horror.

6. The Thing - up to you 🤷‍♂️

7. Shaun of the Dead - it's got lots of zombies, right?

image.thumb.jpeg.71e2445a795a682cbd6aca127a79c784.jpeg

I just remembered I also got 28 Days Later lying around somewhere, so will make another post if necessary.

First movie that creeped me out?... probably this one 🤪

tumblr_inline_nxclw3cYzM1t0ijhl_500.gifv

Voodoo, Baron Samedi's laugh, snakes, lethal scarecrows... a total creepfest for an impressionable young Bond fan and the reason this entry remains one of my absolute favorites to this day.

That's all, folks!

No question about it - Jaws is a horror film.  As is Peeping Tom - total proto slasher.

Challenge 7  - ‘Creepin’ it Reel’

Thank You @Pbsw23 for this fantastic and timely challenge my friend! 🙌 🎃

What was the First Movie that you recall that Creeped you out?

Probably as a small child it was  Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man The Wolf Man: Complete Legacy Collection (Blu-ray) We watched this on either a Friday

Night or Saturday Night as we got our colas/snacks on piles of blankets & watched our fav ghoul Sammy Terry introduce this fantastic film❣️

But the real scare for me as a teenager was the classic horror of all horrors The Exorcist The Exorcist (Blu-ray) the ambience of the music during the autumn 🍂 was so thrilling❣️

I have so many, so these are just an example, cause I could not add “all” mine, now could I 😛

Couldn’t resist look closely Nils mouhahaha 😅

🎃 🧛‍♂️ 👿 🧙‍♀️ 👻

The Omen - A particular fav of mine with that little devil Damien!

The Exorcist - What can I say scares galore for me “Why do you do this to me Dimi?”

Halloween - The quintessential fav of horror that comes from him Michael Myers!!

Night of Dark Shadows - A fav gothic horror story of the Witch Angelique 😳

Dan Curtis’ Dracula - My fav Drac character as Jack Palance sure brings it! 🧛‍♂️

Psycho - The excellent classic of Norman Bates and his mother mouhahaha!!

The origin of the nick:

Noir, I like that style of movies.

21, my favorite number.

Again Logan had a lot to do in that sense😁

Bet then I saw ‘challenge 6’ and told myself I needed to go lie down a bit as obviously these challenges are screwing with my brain.

Howdy! Missed challenge 5 but I’m in for 6. Here goes:

“hansreinhardt” comes from The Black Hole. I always enjoyed that movie and felt it was under appreciated. I got into the habit of naming my hard drives after sci-fi villains for some reason, and just followed suit with the username.

H: Halloween III: Season of the Witch (my fav Halloween film)

A: Apollo 13 (one of my favorites, HD DVD transfer was better than Blu)

N: No Time To Die

S: Sunshine (massively underrated sci-fi gem)

R: Red Planet (crap, but fun)

E: Escape From New York

I: Ikarie XB-1 (decades ahead of its time in editing and cinematography, great flick)

N: Night of the Living Dead

H: Home Alone (ugliest steelbook in existence)

A: Alien

R: Ready Player One

😧 Doctor Sleep

T: Total Recall
