About half of my recent posts have been "hidden" and need to be "approved by a moderator" as of late. Anyone else getting this? What did I do and who did I wrong? 🙃

Nothing personal @GuyIncognit0. Certain words like "cancel" trigger our moderation filter. Usually a word like that requires a PM discussion, but not always as you can attest.

It will be necessary to criticize a movie that they like so that they return outraged to defend it.

I'm curious if anyone has been keeping tabs on the announced documentary/film Edgar Wright is bringing us on "Sparks" ?

Undeniably one of the most influential musical groups of the modern era, the Mael Bros are finally being recognized in film, by a guy who knows how to make great films.

 

For the uninitiated, here's a link to the IMDB page that provides an inkling of what's in store;

I saw mention of this somewhere and I’m kinda curious about it. Sparks was one of those bands where I liked a few songs in the 80’s but never really got into them totally. I do have a couple of their albums and remember liking the song “cool places” a lot. Great video for that as I recall!

I only have time in the evening to watch anything, b/c of FUTBOL FEVER During the day ⚽...

 

I have not been watching any films 🎞  in the evening though... just my DVR recorded programs and sometimes go to MHz Choice/Amazon Prime 📺  huh. 🙃

If folks miss out and continue to guzzle the usual drek for the near future, they'll no doubt spool it up in about 15 years, call it a "classic" and tell others they should watch it...😉

I do it.

 

I'm the resistance.  

 

And I would buy more if they kept releasing editions of documentaries that interest me, but, unfortunately, it is a market that has been languishing until it almost disappeared.

 

It is also because the documentaries that interest me the most may not be the trendiest. 

 

Many documentaries are going to be lost "like tears in the rain", in a world where, without physical release, no one is going to offer the opportunity to see them.
