JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Severe weather has swept across the South, killing at least 18 people and damaging hundreds of homes from Louisiana into the Appalachian Mountains. Many people spent part of the night early Monday sheltering in basements, closets and bathroom tubs as sirens wailed to warn of possible tornadoes. 

The Chattanooga, Tennessee area and several counties in northwest Georgia appeared to be particularly hard-hit. At least 14 people were hospitalized in the Chattanooga area, where search and rescue teams from at least 10 fire departments were going door to door responding to more than 300 emergency calls for help, the fire department said. 

Just over the state line in Georgia, Murray County Fire Chief Dewayne Bain told WAGA-TV that two mobile home parks were severely damaged, with five people were killed and five others hospitalized after a line of narrow line of storms left a five mile long path of destruction. Another person was killed when a tree fell on a home in Cartersville, Georgia, the station reported.

Mississippi's death toll rose to 11 early Monday, the state's emergency management agency tweeted, promising details later in the morning.

In Arkansas, one person was killed when a tree fell on a home in White Hall, about 35 miles southeast of Little Rock, the Jefferson County Department of Emergency Management said. Powerful winds from Sunday’s storms knocked out electricity to more than 125,000 homes and businesses in the state, and Entergy Arkansas said it could take several days to restore power.

The storms blew onward through the night, causing flooding and mudslides in mountainous areas, and knocking out power for about 750,000 people in a 10-state swath ranging from Texas to Georgia up to West Virginia, according to poweroutages.us. The National Weather Service tallied hundreds of reports of trees down across the region, including many that punctured roofs and downed power lines. 

Several apparent tornadoes spun up in South Carolina, where dozens of homes appeared damaged in a line from Seneca to Clemson. Emergency officials were working to open shelters in the North Carolina mountains, where up to 5 inches (13 centimeters) of rain fell in a few hours.

The deaths in Mississippi included a married couple — Lawrence County sheriff's deputy, Robert Ainsworth, and a Walthall County Justice Court deputy clerk, Paula We, a Facebook post from the county sheriff's office said.

Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves declared a state of emergency Sunday night after he said several tornadoes had struck the state.

“This is not how anyone wants to celebrate Easter,” Reeves said on Twitter. “As we reflect on the death and resurrection on this Easter Sunday, we have faith that we will all rise together.”

The National Weather Service advised that the storm front would blow into the mid-Atlantic states Monday, bringing potential tornadoes, wind and hail. News outlets reported downed trees, flooded streets and other damage in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia, but the National Weather Service hadn’t immediately confirmed additional tornado touchdowns.

Strong winds late Sunday toppled power lines and blew trees onto several houses in Clarksdale, Mississippi, trapping some people inside, Mayor Chuck Espy said.

“I know these are some tough times and I’m just asking everyone to stay prayed up,” Espy said.

There were no immediate reports of serious injuries in Louisiana, even though the storm damaged between 200 and 300 homes in and around the city of Monroe, Mayor Jamie Mayo, told KNOE-TV. Flights were canceled at Monroe Regional Airport, where airport director Ron Phillips told the News-Star the storm caused up to $30 million in damage to planes inside a hangar.

In Alabama, lightning struck the Shoals Creek Baptist Church in Priceville, damaging the roof and steeple, Morgan County Emergency Management Agency Eddie Hicks told AL.com.

Well @Robertm89 it depends if I am lucky to get one of each as my collectible # is above the limitations so I have had to press the I WANT TO BUY button..and yes they are all nice editions.

I've never really understood, how that works to he honest. Whoever hits it first is first in line if any left over. There horrors so not sell out as quick as a marvel release so I hope your lucky enough.

Well I think yes press the I Want To Buy button see if your lucky but I think the regular people who buy from them get first refusal on them.. I was lucky to get the ghost in the shell XL edition as I know that one was very sort after edition.

 

my collectable # is 584 so you can guess how many times I gotta press the I Want To Buy button...lol 😂😂

I am trying to get a lower number but it’s going to take awhile so I can get all editions from maniacs boxsets upwards. But I was very lucky again to get the SMFFH maniacs boxset.

Yeah to be honest mate, if you have a number that high and managed to get GITS and Spiderman you have done really well mate. So hopefully you get the ones out of these that you want. Yeah I think somebody has to drop out for you to get a lower # so it's just a waiting game really.

Yeah but actually how I got the GITS and SMFFH editions was through email when I was talking to them about something else and they actually asked me if I wanted both of these edition but yeah I am pretty lucky yes. Thank you @Robertm89 also I got Rocketman through the I WANT TO BUY button...

^^ Just happened to notice, the beautiful disc art for The Exorcist (in the pics above) is marred by those silly age rating emblems.

Not the other releases though.

I do hope this doesn't become a new norm....😟

edit 2: I also wish they reversed the pics selected for the front and back of the Numbering Card. Not only is the Pazuzu pic nicer (imho) but the blue of the card's front will get lost on the Slips back pic. But yeah, I'm being finicky now, eh.  😉

Ah yes now I remember. Yes Inception is the only decent one of the lot...

^^ Sadly, I was rather disappointed with the majority of the X-Men fliks. "Dark Phoenix", (FAC # 134) included. I'm not sure who's lead behind that mess of a run but they honestly don't seem to have a handle on what to do with any characters other than Wolverine, Professor X and Magneto (even Mystique they messed up!).

The rest just seem to be inserted plot points.

If I ever wished for a do-over, it would be that series of films, that had incredible potential. I can't think of another group with such built-in bad-assery that just got wasted....😟

 

Okay, maybe Fantastic 4 got hammered worse but well, I was never overly enraptured by them to begin with.... ( I did like for the most part, how they portrayed The Silver Surfer tho but even then they mess up by catching him so easily, I got nuthin'.... )

I went for It 1990 . Couldnt not Tim Curry NAILED Pennywise  no one can or will ever top him as that entity .

 

watched IT 2017  Chapter 1 the other day and yes its good far better than I expected VERY close to the book from what I remember . Cleverly done . I got a little meh with the language .

 

I found it missed some of the charm and magic if the Curry Version . 

 

I Am going to watch It Chapter 2 ASAP .

 

BIG fat Pass on both the Exorcist and The shining as . as beautiful as the set is the movies where a one watch wonder and time from my life that I am NEVER going to get back  .

Fantastic 4 the Ion Grufford  Chris Evens Version is quite good EVEN better is the Extended Version IF you get the chance to view that one it is far better than the theatrical cut  IN MY Lowly opinion .
