I did get my hands on some things that weren’t ruined.

I bought this in a panic when I thought the Second Sight version might either ship in a month or not at all.  Hello, my name is Heywood, and I am an addict.

I ordered this one this afternoon, for pickup from Walmart, and they alerted me that it was ready just a couple of hours later.  In the past, the only movies on the shelf at this Walmart were DVD collections of Happy Days and MASH, along with a couple of blu ray copies of whatever came out last week.  Looks like I may have to go in there and look around.  Would be nice to have a replacement for the experience of walking around Best Buy just to see what’s on the shelves, a thing I’m going to miss.  (I realize this is way more information than anyone wanted).

The Prestige by Blufans. Thanks again to @Masterblasterand crew for this group buy! This release is a mixed bag for me. Let's start with the good: The design of the slips are phenomenal. The Single Lenti transition is seamless, with good clarity. The Double-Lenti is absolutely fantastic, and even the Fullslip is really good. Same with the Steelbook, which is excellent as well. The extras are, as always with Blufans, varied and of high quality. I've always loved that they will give you different extras for each slip.

But it's the quality control, or lack thereof that bugs me about this release. Maybe it's just my set and a run of bad luck. In my pictures, I did not focus on these issues  as I didn't want to create a gallery of closeups There were issues with the TDK Trilogy, particularly with the TDK single lenti, and with the Prestige, Blufans has produced more of the same. The one click box has glue on the outside that, so far at least, I haven't been able to get off.  the Single and Double-Lentis have multiple scratches and what can best be described as dirt swirls/patches. But unlike most dust or dirt, you can't wipe it off. That could have been avoided if Blufans put a plastic wrap on their Lentis like WeET. Or like WeET (and I've heard multiple stories of this) have someone check every slip for quality.

I open my premiums as I enjoy them more when I do. I don't expect flawlessness, as sometimes things happen, but I'm not having these issues with WeET, Manta Lab, or UHD Club. All it would take to alleviate most of these issues would be a little more care in inspecting the product. #Teamopenitup

Hopefully more pics coming when I get a replacement copy.  Was really looking forward to watching this one.

I wish they would go back to shipping movies in a box. this is one of the reasons I've been hesitant to order any steelbooks from them. they still have some for a decent price whereas go on ebay and that same is going for triple the amount. now if I order chapstick super glu or a phone battery they'll send it in a box big enough for me to hide in. I even tried the this is a gift trick some other members have suggested for better packaging and it still came in that thin white padded bag

This has HOLY GRAIL status for me, was among the few lucky ones to grab one through a GB here on MP! For that a BIG THANK YOU to everyone involved, especially to @extantsrevenge who was struggling with Filmarena GBs 🫡

Thanks @Benoit46 for the hub service 🙏

Exciting mail day today—big thanks to the Media Psychos team for The Prestige group buy hookup. Really been looking forward to this one, and I haven't seen the movie since the first time I saw it back in 2006.

OOOOO, Dog Soldiers from Plaion! I'll have to snag that one. Do you know if it is the same source as the Second Sight 4K?

Did some irresponsible late-night ordering last night, but I think it was worth it. Picked up a bunch of Criterion titles. Most of these were inspired by @Nadam's "Movies That Stay With You" thread, which I think many of us really enjoyed engaging with yesterday.

I've never seen any of these, and I'm ready to experience some great films. Thanks @Nadam for starting the thread and suggesting Ikiru. Thanks @BreakBeatDJ for suggesting The 400 Blows. Thanks @R1s1ngs0n for suggesting 12 Angry Men. I've also got WKW's In the Mood For Love arriving tomorrow, which was on @Casiusco's list, The Seventh Seal, which I really should've seen by now anyway, and Wild Strawberries, which @Fortis93 suggested.

@LeadFarmer I'm going to rewatch Event Horizon this week (which I already own), and @Veum & @Gary K, I've... never seen The Godfather films, which pains me to admit. I've already got that 4K trilogy though, so I'm finally going to give it a spin.
