John Wick Chapter 4 4k from Novamedia. Thanks to @Masterblasterand crew for the group buy and safe/fast shipping of this beautiful release!! Another one where the pictures do not do it justice. Crisp and clean Lenti with a nice transition. And look at that, BLUFANS pay attention, a Lenti with an extra layer of plastic on it to prevent scratches and dirt! Quality control, what a concept. Good Steelbook that matches 1-3. And the special gift with the cards are  great as well. Now, I can only hope that Nova makes a special box to fit all four.

It's a real shame that the lenticular doesn't match the style of the previous films.

So I can’t stress enough how nice the texture feels, it’s luxurious.  The gloss is very, very high gloss and the embossments are really nice.  Really like the small pictures covered in gloss on the back.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Just one tiny flaw and one strange thing.  The tiny flaw is the hexagonal gloss here missing the mark a bit:

 

 

The strange thing:  the bottom of the Blu Ray looks like a family had a contest to see who could leave the most fingerprints on it. Pic doesn’t do it justice, I was too lazy to try to get the perfect angle/multiple angles.

 

 

I suspect they had trouble keeping the disc in, the way the disc clips is unconventional.

 

Overall very happy with it.  The way it feels in your hands and the obviously gorgeous color and gloss are what stands out.

If you dont mind me stepping in, I would start with A Woman under the Influence.

Absolute masterpiece with impeccable performances by Rowlands and Falk. Not an easy film to endure though.

I started last night, watched Shadows, and then Faces. I posted some thoughts on them over in the "What did you watch last night?" thread if you're curious. Despite how they might read, I did enjoy both of those films. So much to absorb in each of them. Going in release order from that set, A Woman Under the Influence is next... and I'm really looking forward to that one. 

 

I'll report back after I've watched it, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on it afterward. Thanks for the advice my friend!

You're def right, that's the tour de force.  Have you seen Todd Haynes' movie Safe, Julianne Moore?  For some reason that always struck me as a 1990s version of Woman/Influence.  Stylistically completely different, but embracing and exploring the complications of the lives of women under the pressure of domestic definition, women as the anti-victim, suffering from that "problem with no name" (Betty Friedman).  Highly recommend any Todd Haynes movie actually.

I think thats a great comparison, TBH, Safe wasnt the first movie that came to mind for me there. I always thought about Antonionis Red Desert which actually has a lot in common with both Influence and also Safe. And of course Haynes Far from Heaven comes to mind which I would love to own on 4k.
