...DANGEROUSLY COLD WIND CHILLS WELL BELOW ZERO, STRONG WIND, AND ACCUMULATING SNOW ARE EXPECTED LATE THIS WEEK... A strong storm system is expected to bring significant weather impacts to central Indiana starting late Wednesday night and continuing through Christmas weekend. * WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills well below zero, strong wind, and accumulating snow. * WHERE...All of central Indiana. * WHEN...Beginning as early as late Wednesday night with conditions deteriorating rapidly Thursday night into Friday. * IMPACTS...Wind chills of this magnitude can cause frostbite in less than 5 minutes. Hypothermia can occur if precautions are not taken. Travel could be impacted by roads quickly icing over at the onset of the Arctic air Thursday night, and additional snowfall could cause difficult travel through Friday. People need to pay close attention to the weather situation. Prepare now with necessary supplies to protect yourself from the dangerous cold and consider alternate travel plans.

Good morning, all!

I had to take a small vacation from this site because I was on vacation with no access to wifi. I hit my data limit within a day 😅

I'll probably spend a small part of the day catching up around the site so excuse my late reactions to things...

Hope you all are well!

Cold 12/22 Periods of rain; breezy this afternoon; rain and wet roads may lead to travel disruptions

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 3 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM EST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow and dangerous cold. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central and west central Indiana. * WHEN...From 3 PM this afternoon to 7 PM EST Friday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Widespread blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. Wind chills as low as 35 below zero will cause frostbite and hypothermia even if outside for only a short time. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A flash freeze is likely this evening as temperatures drop very rapidly while precipitation is ongoing and roads are wet. This will cause significant travel difficulty. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
