Hi all! It's been a long time between posts for me.

I just wanted to express my deep disappointment with The Creator. It's agenda was clear. It wants us to sympathise with AI and to ignore its dangers. Denzel's son was terrible, unfortunately. Story line was flaccid.

I also saw Killers of the Flower Moon. Fantastic acting! De Niro was the stand-out. What a performance! However, the movie was too long, and too slow paced. I was falling asleep.

What's everyone's thoughts on these two films?

I haven’t seen The Creator, but everyone I know who has was disappointed.  I hate to say it but I don’t think Denzel’s son is a movie star (just not enough charisma) *or* an especially good actor.

I actually enjoyed the first 100 to 120 minutes of Killers.  SPOILERS!! I thought it was engrossing and built up to a real sense of paranoia when Leo realizes that the walls are closing in on his own family.

It weirdly fell apart for me when the Feds showed up; that part felt kind of rushed and anticlimactic.  When Lily came out of her drugged state she seemed like a different, less intelligent character.  Barely there.

It felt like Scorsese tried to shove two different movies together, so neither one fully landed.  I’ll definitely watch it again.  It’s beautiful, really well done, often darkly comic.  Just not top tier Scorsese (which almost nothing is!). I’d put it on a level with Gangs of New York, with Killers being slightly better.

I like it a lot, especially DDL.  But I have weird tastes probably.  I would rate Gangs below Color of Money and even Bringing Out The Dead, which I love.  Talk about a movie that would look great in 4K!

Watched the first hour of Willy’s Wonderland with my son, and I think it legit scared him, though he doesn’t want to admit it (he’s 12).  Now that I’ve got him to bed, I’m jumping back into The New World.  Caught 30 minutes of it last night before bed, didn’t remember it seeming so fast paced for Malick.

Veterans Day is a U.S. legal holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars, and Veterans Day 2023 will occur on Saturday, November 11. In 1918, on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, an armistice, or temporary cessation of hostilities, was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in World War I, then known as “the Great War.”

Commemorated in many countries as Armistice Day the following year, November 11th became a federal holiday in the United States in 1938. In the aftermath of World War II and the Korean War, Armistice Day became known as Veterans Day.

There are weekends when you feel like going places, great adventures, and lots of fun things.

Others you're so tired that the couch is the only place you'd like to fly to.

Good morning/afternoon.

It's official, one month all days raining.

From not normal 32 ºC on beach in October, to not normal all days raining in October and November.

And the most important thing: David Lynch got us used to giving us the weather report, and then he left us abandoned.

Where are you, Mr. Lynch? What surprises is one of the most important directors of the last 50 years preparing for us?
