Portugal gone 😭, 1 good move from Belgium in 90 minutes and they win 😪. So stupid that Portugal could not score, looking at the previous games it did not came that much as a surprise, but I find it simply stupid.

 

Now the Euro will be so boring for me, only have Germany to root for now, and judging by that I might have no one after the next game 😵.

 

At least I would not have to watch another game then. If  Germany fails I think I only would watch a final with Denmark.

 

Overall I really have to say that the quality of football has decreased in the last few years.

 

My real goal for this Euro getting before @icewire in the ranking is also getting harder now. 2 of my semifinals teams are already out 😲.

 

Maybe I can hold the line and keep @R1s1ngs0n and @thomue1987 behind me in the ranking, I wonder if that would bother them 😜

If they fail to win, all of their players along with Luis Enrique will have to be escorted anywhere under heavy protection.

I actually feel bad for Morata. He plays like someone whose confidence has been completely shattered and that’s most likely due to the despicable death threats him and his family received lately.

That’s the ugly side of football I deeply despise.

In my opinion, you are partly right, and partly wrong.

 

Morata's problem is that he is a good player, but he is not good enough to have had the opportunities that he has had throughout his career. He has always been an "usual suspect". And it's very significant that, knowing him well, no important club in Spain wants him; not even Atlético de Madrid, his rights owner, who are going to sign a striker and don't want to get him back.

 

And when you tell a boy for years and years that he is a top, even though he never has large numbers..., but he believes it, believe all that his father media friends say about him; and he comes to an opportunity where must behave like a top, where -because of the list of selected players - there are no others who hide his usual shortcomings, and media put him as the greatest asset of a team ... what we can find at the end is only frustration, and failure. And, yes, of course, insecurity and lack of self-esteem.

 

Like any child emperor.

 

Look at a detail: in the Russia World Cup he was not selected. That season he had only scored 11 goals, and the coach took Aspas who had scored 22. Well, Morata did not understand it, he did not expect it despite playing much worse ... or so which is the same: he took it for granted that even if he played worse and scored fewer goals, he had to be the "9" of Spain. And when he found himself out of the list, he caught a slump.

 

If they had left him quiet, and that he won things on his merits, without putting him in places for which he was not prepared, or for which he has not done merits, he might have calmed down, he would have grown more as a footballer, and he would be a profitable player. But that never happened around him.
