    Really sad on two fronts:

    (i) Nils having to do all this... so much effort for us (we are not deserving of)!

(ii) FAC insist on doing things this way (just read Dodgy Dave's post).

I also understand the Finance limitations / considerations for many members.

I have a suggestion (it may be a bit left field), but thought I would throw it out there. I will try and give a numeric illustration

I see Mils has tagged 20 UK members: and he has 2 of all three releases left [ 2 x 3]

Let's say in total, these cost £500 (just an example).

    • Can all 20 members agree to split the cost £25 each
    • MP can just send an invoice to each of us for £25 each (final figure once prices are known)

Benefits: This way we can fulfil our Hub allocation

Now, as to the ownership of the editions:

    • We can have 6 raffles [2 x 3]  for the 20 UK members only
    • 6 different members are guaranteed to win at least one edition (so e.g. if a member has already won something, he is out of the remaining raffles)

Benefits: MP gets to keep their chance of future FAC allocations

Winning members can always sell on Ebay (for more than £25 hopefully)!

If a member ends up with nothing, at worst the member will lose is £25

Think of the invoice as an MP "FAC fund"

I will be up for this proposal

Like the idea but 4 hard boxes and 2 singles are likely closer to £650 - £700 = £32.50-£35.

Also getting agreement from all 20 would probably be slim.  Then there’s the logistics.

Definitely not trying to crap on it as I like the idea and applaud trying to think of solutions.

Starting my last effort for UK HUB. Tagging a few members who showed interest for FAC in the past. I have 2 of all 3 releases on your HUB left at the moment.

if you only want Backdraft, go ahead request that, can't promise it until I know if I get requests that want all releases or not.

@Mac Hadfield you order is safe, no one can get before you now.

Did you know we have around 400 registered UK members, really doesn't feel like it.

    Hey Nils,

These FAC WWA hard boxes are starting to become ridiculous really.  It now seems it’s almost solely what they do!

I guess it doesn’t help either it comes on the back of Xmas and a long gap between pay until end of January.  Expecting a couple of hefty invoices here really soon too that I don’t know how much exactly they’ll be so can’t plan funds completely and don’t have as much “spare”.  Really don’t need more WW84 too.  Forgot I ordered 2 OC HDZ and also took an extra FS to help out then.

Has MP committed to buy the full allocation or if they aren’t taken then FAC just won’t be pleased and will reduce the allocation for next time?  Still not good as you’ve battled to keep numbers up valiantly for us members.

It does seem to be getting worse as you thought it would when you saw the volume of dross each month in this year lineup.

FAC truly are deluded with the releases and on top, happen to be probably the most expensive retailer.

If it helps (which it probably doesn’t) I’ll put my name down for a Backdraft and just try to sell it likely at a loss.  As someone else mentioned, if people taking things they don’t want isn’t going to help long term, which it won’t, it doesn’t leave you too many options.  The work you’re putting in to find solutions isn’t fair to you.

I tried to sell one the other day and was surprised at how FAC sentiment had changed.  They simply aren’t as good as the other players these days.

But you’re right, everyone will want The Thing and moan when there aren’t enough 🙄.

Edit:  Just seen Backdraft only isn’t an option for UK.  If you’re stuck with one at the end of you can’t shift all 3 sets together, I’ll take one.

well, i think that indeed most of the people who acquire tier do so to get more chances in the GB's.

It would be naïve to think otherwise.

I agree with everything you say !

the one thing that bothers me is that the way to get tier for regular members is not linked to the support or participation in the community. The guy who just happen to be at the right moment at the right place is getting it.

Ok this part I can kind of agree with.  Could end up with a day old member with 0 posts grabbing a platinum if any happen to drop down to regular members.

As mentioned by @R1s1ngs0n, it’s likely hard to remedy.  I suppose some kind of account age / post requirement for the jump from regular to tiered.

it would promote more talking but also promote a ton of spam which isn’t particularly helpful.

Pure "first come first serve" has many drawbacks. Then every GB becomes a race to see who can F5 the fastest. What about people at work? What about members with slower internet connections? What about time zones? Feel like getting up at 3am for GBs? Should a loyal long-time member who supports the forum really miss out because a member who joined MP yesterday got the last copy?

Yet, this is exactly how the membership tier are offered to new members....  so how faire is it to offer tier as a race since GB as race is not ?

So you’d like some sub tiers set up and sold to members without tiers so they can have a priority order when they want to buy the main tiers.  Obviously these sub tiers couldn’t be fastest finger first so maybe some sub sub tiers….

  5. Funnily enough, mine arrived today even though my tracking hasn’t updated.

There was a lump pushed out from the inside of the top lenticular frame box which had me worried but luckily it was just the cable had moved and been squished through a bit.

No damage and no customs thank stop using inappropriate language!

The light up lenticular frame thing is actually really awesome when lit up.  Think that’s what persuaded me to join the GB in the first place.
