  1. Challenge 12:

Just back from holiday and not well so haven’t put as much effort as I’d like in to this one.

    1. Christopher Nolan:  I like everything he’s done up until Tenet as I’ve still not actually seen it the whole way through as yet.  The Dark Knight being the obvious favourite.

    2. George Lucas:  While he hasn’t actually directed too many of the movies, he’s had a hand in so many more through writing and producing.  I’m going with A New Hope here just for what it started!

    E1EBCB8D-5D9D-4DBD-B13D-221A45208803.thumb.jpeg.7d1e3939cf6f8e2d4edd88b4f49bea05.jpeg

    3.  Chad Stahelski:  This is where I’ve got a little lazy as it could have been any number of directors between Tarantino, Scott, Cameron or Spielberg but in fairness, John Wicks are some of my favourite movies of all so John Wick 2 as my favourite and looking forward to the next one!

Now, back to doing nothing on the sofa.

  2. Challenge 11 (had to rush this photo before going on holiday)

T2:  Not much needs to be said about this really.  T1 is a great film but this just expands on everything from soundtrack to action to story.

The Dark Knight:  I love all three films but for me personally, BB is actually my least favourite so this sequel is easily superior.  I’ll go with the villain as the massive step up.

Blade Runner 2049: Might be a controversial view for some but while I appreciate the original for everything it is, I prefer the pacing on 2049.

Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back:  High quality plot twist and expanding on the story massively.

John Wick 2:  Just more of the same from the first but turned up to 11!

As for which film I want to see a sequel for… Really want that next Beetlejuice.  Could be turd, but just always wanted more of that character.

    1:  John Wicks Handgun

    2:  Luke Skywalker Lightsaber

    3:  Uncle Bob’s Shotgun

    4:  Death Trooper Rifle

    5:  Various peoples Staff

I like all three of Arnies big weapons in T2.  Chain gun for when he first sees it and it’s just OTT, grenade launcher just because…. And the smoke grenade launcher I think because I always like the sound it made when he fired it.  Could pick that sound out from an audio clip easily.

As for villains weapons… so much fun. T1000 various stabby stabby!  Freddie’s glove and always loved the Borg.  Was going to add Infinity Gauntlett but already gone way over the one for each.

  4. Right I’ve entered but unless I missed something it gets really convoluted when you get past the round of 16 like you’d somehow have to Rain Man it and know exactly how your predictions worked out and who was through in what spot.

Thought it might work it out for you based on predicted results but nope.

Edit: Thinking about it, are predictions locked in and knockout rounds then based on your predictions or you can wait until that knockout match is known and then predict before the match starts if that makes sense?

  5. Challenge 9…. Hopefully

Right, I’m going for this with a hint of cheese 🧀 via games as I’d previously mentioned.  Nobody said no so I’m chancing it 😄.  Added an extra just for extra effort.

The 6 I’ve chosen here are pretty much what I could find in the house!  I didn’t even think I could get this many together.

Favourites are tough but the Terminator 2 soundtrack is great.  The main theme gives me goose pimples even after seeing it billion times.  Was amazing to see it in the cinema in 3D and the sound track there blew me away.  I do really like the Harry Potter sound track too.  Also while not strictly being a soundtrack, Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds is just so good.

I guess I’d say my absolute favourite (along with T2) would have to be Final Fantasy VII original and Remake. I must have spent 200 - 300 hours playing the original which means I’ve spent way longer listening to that sound track than any single movie by a long way.

Some got annoying at the time but now I enjoy it all and certain tracks bring me right back to playing it as a kid.  The re-recording for Remake is also great along with a few additional tracks.

    Hope this counts 🤞

1:  Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone

    2:  Final Fantasy VII Remake

3:  Star Wars - Revenge Of The Sith

    4:  Final Fantasy XIII

5:  Star Wars - The Phantom Menace

    6:  Final Fantasy XIII-2

To the majority of us here, all of these releases are tiny moments of joy. I love new editions and I enjoy seeing peoples excitement towards them. We’re all collectors.
If your comment starts with, “I hate to be negative but…” then you’ve already said too much.

Don’t be that person. Practice restraint. It’s simple and it’s healthier for everyone.

We should celebrate these things and if you can’t for a particular release, then wait  to comment on one that you’re truly excited about.

I like the edition but I do agree that Ryan should be allowed to voice his own opinion otherwise this place would just be a boring run of the same comments saying how much everyone loved absolutely everything.

We’re encouraged to participate in discussion which is what keeps forums such as this alive in a time when many struggle.  It’s what makes them worth being a part of.

Didn’t really see anything wrong with any of his posts.  Wouldn’t influence my own decision on purchase either way but appreciate reading all points of view.

  7. Challenge 8:

I’ve added extras to make sure I’m covered as they kind of cover multiple bases.

My collection isn’t rigid in organisation but I’d say it’s ordered by film / franchise and then retailer.

Red - Star Wars: The Last Jedi

    Orange - Terminator 2 JD - Mondo

Yellow - Bohemian Rhapsody (I’m calling it yellow)

Green - Terminator 2 JD - Mondo Variant / Fight Club

PaleBlue - Fight Club / John Wick Nova

    DarkBlue/Purple - Terminator 2 JD / Horizon Forbidden West

    Pink - Grease

  8. Challenge 7!

So first film that freaked me out is a toughie.  I watched Hellraiser, Alien, Nightmare on Elm Street and all the usual suspects as a kid but they didn’t really scare me too much.

I guess one that did a little as I watched it when I was really really young was Labyrinth.  For a few days I thought I might get stolen at night.

My sister wouldn’t have come to help.  She’d have left David Bowie to it, mincing about on his upside down staircases.

    IT - Killer Clown

    Newer IT - Killer Clown

    Ghoulies - Ghoulies

    Dead Heads - Zombies

Feast - Family of flesh eating monsters

    John Wick - Boogeyman 👻

    Resubmission

    Thanks @extantsrevenge

Replacement for Wizard of Oz & Coco

    Ghostbusters Afterlife

Not a patch on the first one obviously but better than the 2016 Mellisa McCarthy drivel

It was not a bad film, and the cameos at the end were very delightful 🙂

    Train to Bussn / Peninsula

    Love this zombie franchise

Koreans showing how it should be done

Really glad @ksosk arranged the GB for Peninsula premium

Also, in answer to the question of which film first & truly freaked me out...

    It is all werewolves

I was a huge Michael Jackson fan growing up in the 80s

Then my uncle showed my Thriller

I must have been 5 years old or something, I ran out of the room when he transformed

    That scene scared me shi*less

A few years after, I then watched American Werewolf in London

I must have been about 8 or 9

I remember recording it on VHS... I was really scared

I kept thinking the Werewolf will come out of the tape lol.

Gave me sleepless nights, I eventually ended up throwing the VHS tape away lol.

    Talk about mental scars lol..

Think both Ghostbuster films fall foul of the 15+ rating.  Think both are 12s? 😂

Reading the last few pages of this has been great!

  10. Challenge 6:

Tried to use as many DVDs and random things as possible.  Had to use a couple of newer ones just to hit the letters.  Dug some of these out of a box we haven’t touched in some time.  Didn’t even know we owned them!

Bubble Boy and Riding In Cars With Boys made it all the way here from my wife’s childhood and have somehow avoided me throwing them out each time I do a culling even though she’ll likely never even open the cases ever again.

My username is just a made up word from childhood.  Can’t remember the very first time it was used but I do remember my mate making a prank call panicking asking them for help as the Bungrals were coming.  He got so in to it he was nearly crying.  Good times.

    Bubble Boy

    Unknown

    Nativity

    Ghoulies (such great films)

    Riding In Cars With Boys

A New Hope - Star Wars
    Law Abiding Citizen

the way i read it you get the normal WWA steel and they have decided to add the separate 4K and that 4k added is the extra 25, so becomes a twin release.

unless i have read it wrong 👍

The original release was for a full slip and lenticular each housing the same 3 disc Steelbook.  They are now replacing one of those with the new 4K Steelbook.

Therefore it’s a €25 jump from the 3 disc steel to the new 4K steel no?

Steep upgrade is all I’m saying.

     Still getting it….

    Hey guys,

I made 3 clips to describe briefly the processes MP went through while making this release. Hope it will give you more appreciation of the item you purchased!

It wasn't easy for me and I lost my thoughts frequently while recording.

    Double Lenticular edition:

    Single Lenticular edition:

    Fullslip (Only in One Click):

Awesome stuff @ksosk and thanks for the videos.  I didn’t buy this release but for the first one it really is very good.  High quality.

Look forward to getting involved in future releases.
