Reminds me:  I have the Criterion blu of For All Mankind (not the show, the movie that pieces together a trip to the moon), have been skeptical that the 4K would be much of an upgrade considering the age of the source material.  Suspected that the blu ray had already maxed out the source material.  Anyone seen it in 4K?

 

Yep! I own it in 4K and love it, but it definitely is in no way as impressive as Apollo 11 was using some of the same footage (Then again, I don't think anything compares to Apollo 11 since they converted all of that 70mm footage to 16K resolution in digital -- and it shows!). The 4K of For All Mankind is definitely worth the upgrade IMO, but it is up to you and how much to love it. Not all of the scenes look stellar due to the film that was used and such. But, for the scenes that 4K can take advantage of, they look amazing.

Starting Chris Cooper in the present day, Matthew McConaughey and Kris Kristofferson in flashback.  Chris Cooper is sheriff of a town in Texas.  His dad used to be the sheriff of the same town and was a notorious son of a bitch that’s now considered a hero (they’re putting up a statue!).  Not a spoiler, happpens early: some bones and a badge are found in the desert.  Cooper investigates and finds out all kinds of things about the town and himself, everyone he knows, stirs up a mess.

Wasn't expecting this until Monday.  Looks amazing! But the glue on the back gave away immediately.  Everything else seems good so I think I'll just glue it back.  Any suggestions for what type of glue?

There are plastic protectors for the one click?  Well it's pretty tight as is.  Honestly it's hard to get them back out

Just got my Motherbox and… the glue on the back is DOA. Is it safe to just use superglue or is there a special compound that’s better?

That definitely looks down right pitiful gluing, this should have been top-notch for what we paid for it (I hope mine comes intact 🙏)! 😡

Good luck, man. I’ve no idea what HDZeta did here, but it definitely feels like they cut some corners on this batch. I was kind of expecting it after @jwhitm3’s post, but it’s still damn disappointing. And yeah, for the amount we paid we should not have to be discussing regluing and fixing.

Just tells me I really wish I knew about the UHD Club LOTR before I invested in these HDZeta ones,  I would have ordered them instead, and I’m feeling pretty down about these particular editions for me… disappointed and sad. ☹️ 😔

Received and the left side on the back is a little open however the rest of the box is pretty much intact. I figure if I do not mess with it a lot it should be OK but it would be nice to know what kind of glue we should use to make it stronger. 🤷‍♂️

Superglue isn’t much good  for cardboard…. Its too thin and will most likely just soak into the surface and  provide little or no adhesion…. A good quality more viscous craft glue would probably be the better choice …

Two things happened here I believe : #1 HDZeta used the cheapest possible glue they could. And/or #2. They used decent glue but have been sitting (not literally) on these Motherboxes for a long time/they were improperly stored.

 

The amount of money we paid, coupled with what we paid for their below standard (for them anyway) LOTR One-Clicks, they could have at least used some proper glue. I said it a few weeks ago, and I believe it more now: I don't think we'll see another release from them this year, and maybe not for a long time, if ever.
