HDz have got a lot of work to beat their own Silver release of LotR,  and of course they can't now beat Hobbit.

In truth I would not have bothered with the Gold release of LotR, other than the fact that I take every release from HDz.

I have the same set as you, and I'm more than happy with them.

I am already signed up for Gold, WEA steelbooks mean a lot to me for this franchise. Especially if they’re gloss and embossed with that beautiful art that was revealed. At this point even if the slips and boxes stink for Gold, I’m happy to have the steelbooks. The WWA are nice but I wish they weren’t just flat matte.

Lots of people already posted pics of this set.  It’s a beauty.  

 

I’m hoping the similar style Les Miserables box will be available to ship soon too.  They will look very nice on the shelf together.

 

I particularly love the art work on the outer box and the glossy raised images on the foldout case which holds the discs, with Elliott going into the shed.  ET and his glowing finger is also a nice sharp pic.  The lentis are great, really good depth on the cover image.  Coin is a great touch too.

 

It’s a premium set throughout, well worth the $$....and one of my fave 80s movies too!!!

I'm really enjoying these UHD releases that I have participated in, and this is no exception.  With the few releases I have, I feel like they really do get the idea of premium releases.  There were a few fit and finishes that weren't quite as great as TDK, but that doesn't detract from an awesome release.
