How cool would it be if they released a deck for either The Lost Boys or The Crow. 🙏🏼 Perhaps simply not mainstream enough (Marvel, Batman, Harry Potter, Stranger Things) but I kinda feel like these would be cult enough? 🤔

Thanks a lot, @R1s1ngs0n. I just purchased my first two decks, haha. I snagged the Grateful Dead and Artisan White decks. I REALLY wish I could get my hands on the Tavern on the Green deck, but sadly that is locked behind their Elite membership. I may need to go to eBay for that one.

I was able to snag an original Tavern on the Green from eBay for $27.99, so I am extremely happy! Also, I might snag two more decks -- Ramen Heads by Art of Play, and Mac Lethal X Orbit. Finally, all I need is a Steve Minty Ascension Golden Lions deck after those, and I'll be all set. I never imagined myself buying luxury cards, but here I am. I love the artwork so much, and always have friends over for cards bi-weekly, so these will be nice for games and getting into cardistry.

Coincidentally, I received this gorgeous deck less than an hour ago, the latest in the Oddfellows series designed by the supremely talented Lorenzo Gaggiotti, a.k.a Stockholm17.

This man is, in my opinion, the most talented designer of Premium custom playing cards working today. His two consecutive 'Deck of the Year' awards attest to that.

I don’t have BR but you’d be wise to get one as it’s among their most praised decks.

Like my movie collection, I keep my playing cards collection pretty small, only buying decks I truly love.

My favorite deck of all time is Eye Of The Ocean by S17. It won deck of the year in 2023 and the KS campaign for its sequel EOTO2 is scheduled to be launched sometime this February or March. Already saving money for that one.

Just snagged the BR Counterspell deck, so I appreciate the feedback! I will be on the lookout on KS for their next campaign, as I would love to be a part of that. That Eye of the Ocean deck looks AMAZING, so I can see why you love it. It's a work of art.

Hey, nice to have another member interested in cardistry decks.

I'd point you to a subscription at King's Wild Project.  I like Theory11, but often their designs can feel a bit computer-y to me.  Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic decks and I have many of them.  But Jackson Robinson is a fantastic illustrator and I actually prefer his LoTR decks at King's Wild, they take on more of a book illustration, shire feel, than the T11 decks.  Follow King's Wild Project's Kickstarter, that's where the really good stuff ends up.  Their legacy boxes are beautiful.

Thank you so much for the greeting and the amazing suggestion! Yeah, I have TERRIBLE at something as simple as shuffling cards (it's bad), but this has pushed me into learning cardistry and wanting to greatly improve my handling of cards and the beautiful art behind it.

Yeah, I know zero tricks. But I consider collecting cards part of cardistry, my way of deluding myself I'm good with a deck.  However on game night, my fellas love to see what deck I'm going to pull out.  You have to really break these decks in to actually play with them.  We have a coupla bros who have gotten good at cheating with the new slippery decks.  

 

I'm def a collector of the art on the cards first.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of JR's designs, especially the King Wild table series, but I agree that these are beautiful and more unique than T11's take on the saga.

Tbh it's been a while since I purchased a T11 deck, mostly because they've been focusing all their efforts on film and music related properties, while completely abandoning unique projects and designs.

Yeah, the Theory11 movie decks aren't really my thing. I much prefer highly creative and unique art. I have been eyeballing the Beatles and Contraband decks, but good lord those Silk decks are sleek! Also, that box for The Successor is wild! The creativity in all of these decks is amazing.

Just got my T11 White Artisan and Grateful Dead decks, and these are BEAUTIFUL! I am headed over to Target here after work since they have Buy 1 Get 1 50%-Off on games, movies, books, and more, so I am going to snag up cheap Bicycle decks ($4.49 for 2 decks, and half-off the next two). I also snagged some Bee Lotus casino cards (the story behind those is wild, but they were so cheap at $3.50/pc compared to regular Bee cards that are $7-9/pc, but not difference in the material and pressing), and also got the Tally-Ho Orchid and Plum Blossom limited decks since they were like $5/pc. This will give me a lot to work with for practicing my shuffling and cardistry in the event I mess up some cards.

 

Now I am just going to hold off on buying anymore until S17 does his KS campaign soon since his new Patreon post mentions him currently building the campaign right now, and will give us a preview next week.
