Been binge-watching some of your Cops reality shows i.e. The Force: Manchester/24 Hours in Police Custody & was wondering how did you avoid/escape the pitfalls of criminal activity in your upbringing by not getting involved in all the things I see, especially the youth doing wrong… there is a prolific amount of crime in car thefts, drug dealing, drunk driving, domestic violence, etc.? 🧐 

 

I’m was just curious in the good route you have taken (was it your good parents, good mates, girlfriends, sports, innocent hobbies, sightseeing, etc.???) & especially in your love of our hobby instead of the mischief I see on these shows!

WELL? 🧐 

 

I can tell you in my own instance, it was defined from my good parents up until they died 😢  So that instilled in me something deep down inside that I wanted to always try to do what’s right & becoming a Christian/sports/music (I definitely could have gone the other way be it being bitter & being placed in a relatives home that were alcoholics & all the death in my close family 😢 😔)…

 

Most definitely my loving wife kept me on the straight & narrow, bless her❣️🥰…

 

I believe I came out fantastic if I say so myself! 🙏😇

I had alot of friends that did alot of that stuff u mentioned but I never got involved with it. I think mainly because I used to play football alot and I mean a lot I'd play all day if I could back then. I played for a football team sat and Sunday till had my injuries. Then I had a kid at 21 which changed my life everything is about my kids now. I do treat myself to this very expensive hobby lol but can only pick and choose certain ones as my career isn't the greatest pay wise.

 

Maybe if our justice system wasn't pathetic you would have alot less crime.

Since you actually gave us your own perspective (for a change) on the question, I’ll bite the bait. I was able to avoid the pitfalls of criminal activity, because of parental programming, strong positive influences, & luck. My main prime directives as a child was to be observant of my surroundings, & treat everyone I came in contact with, with the same respect I would want in return.

What I discovered from being observant is that life turns out terribly for most of the individuals who ended up down the wrong path. I also use to receive positive attention for treating people well, & most of the people I saw who was going down the wrong path didn’t treat people well.
 

Since I never saw the long term benefits I was never interested. Add to the fact that a lot of my influences was heroes & superheroes. The individuals that where able to make better decisions despite their circumstances always fascinated me more  & they where who I wanted to be.
