It was on news here this morning Germany has run out of petrol and people crossing border aren't being let in unless they have enough to get around.

Truth above.

But I wonder in my head if this is a good thing for other countries uber drivers as they could ferry in toilet paper and other stuff at inflated prices 😄

So ... at the weekend I finally pushed  the button on the final piece to my 4K upgrade ....with the purchase of a fabulous Panasonic 55” OLED tv ...I can now enjoy the wondrous Dolby Atmos soundtracks and HDR discs that I previously purchased but couldn’t watch without the relevant equipment... ... and the first disc to be tested was obviously going to be the 4K Edition of Bladerunner..... and what a truly cinematic experience it was.... for those who have not yet ventured into the realms of 4K I urge you to take the plunge ... you will not  regret it ...

 

here's a few snaps .... they don't exactly show the true beauty of the image but do show how vibrant the new transfer is ....

The backlight is just a concealed RGB led strip  behind a false wall ..which hides all the cables...

I've been thinking of upgrading my receiver to one with a higher rate HDMI pass through and Atmos support having just gotten a 4k 3d tv my self a few months ago. The top firing small Atoms add on speakers arn't too terribly experiensive.

All the speakers in my setup  are individual speakers , for the atmos  speakers I am using 4 Cambridge Audio Minx Min11 speakers with dedicated swivel brackets mounted on the ceiling front and rear ... in a 5.1.4 configuration .and are very effective ...The upward firing atoms speakers that are available are not as effective apparently so I went with dedicated speakers for each channel .
