@airwins did I not read on one of these threads today, where this was coming out on Sept. 19th from FAC? 🎬

Will we be having a GB here for this from FAC?

Yeah guys thanks, I’ve already got the BestBuy 4K Steelbook and that is good enough for me...

Received an e-mail from everythingblu about shipping...there was a problem and options were not offered...only an expensive option was offered. I was Charged £17.60 shipping to the USA. After I sent an email to them they refunded £2.00 down to £15.60..I did a test run at their  site and shipping shows as £11.65...sent them another email...waiting for a reply. Anyway for those who ordered...check your shipping cost.

I’m seriously thinking I may have made a mistake not ordering this edition.

I ordered the one from Cine Museum, expected to be released next February but judging from recently posted pictures, this one looks to be the edition to have.

The only downside is that it’s going to take considerable shelf space, similar to WCL’s 2001.
Will eBay turn out to be my (costly) savior once again?

Decisions, decisions...

Hey @R1s1ngs0n

What for you, do you like in the Everythingblu edition of Casino over CM?

I always prefer slips over lentis and the overall package from EB seems more elegant to my eyes (although for a movie set in Las Vegas elegance is not necessarily a requirement).

I admit, however, that I like quite a lot the back art on CM’s release.

I’m thinking about offering my CM copy as part of a raffle or a Casino themed quiz...haven’t decided yet 😉

@R1s1ngs0n @Veum

I just received my copy from Everything Blu yesterday. Haven’t opened it yet & it does look real good in hand. I was tempted to purchase CM’s release because it looks nice also, but I only need one copy of this movie so I had some self control for a change & didn’t pull the trigger on it.

I figured a collector couldn’t go wrong with either release they both look really good. I ended up with EB because theirs was offered first, but Considering your preference you did right to get the EB version. Having CM’s release as a prize for your themed quizzes would be epically cool! That’s one hell Of a way to kick off a new one since your break.

CM’s items hold their value so it shouldn’t be a problem selling it either , if you choose that as an option also.

Last night I tried to put a protective cover on this edition.

I'm not an protective covers expert, and I tried to use a SCF11. But in my opinion it fits but too tight.

Too tight for me. I don't think it's good to keep it well.

I have another protective cover, unknown name, I don't know where I got it from, where it fits inside ... but it's too big.

What suitable protective case do you use with this edition?

Thank you.

PD: Is there a thread to talk about protective covers in general? I have some more questions like this, but I have not found the right place to do it.  I have some more questions like this, but I have not found the right place to do it, beyond protective covers for steelbooks or those that MP currently sells.

I'd love it if we had a thread for members to discuss and report which editions fit into which protectors. A master list would be awesome! There have been so many size changes over the years it's hard to keep track. I know very little about protectors unfortunately, but lots of others do. If you want to you can create a thread here

It's very necessary. Although in that same sub-forum "Steelbook accesories" you linked to, we already have the very useful "Steelbook Protective Slipcover Guide" by  @ksosk, which includes some of the latest editions.

In fact, I made a mistake, because when I was looking for this "Casino" protector information, I saw that post and I thought it was only from "steelbook accesories" because its subforum name; but there are also other types of editions there. And other Psychos have already raised their doubts there for all type of current editions.

Maybe we should all help @ksosk to complete it. He has done and is doing a great job, and a very generous contribution.

Putting doubts, but also solutions. I don't know more about this than what he already has in his so useful thread, but if I find something else, now or in the future, I will be happy to put it in that thread so that it continues to grow.

What we can't do is wait for him to do everything. Of course.

At the moment, I'm going to open another thread to ask some questions about protecting DVDs, because although it's not the most common thing today, I have some jewels that deserve their protection, to see if anyone knows how to do it. I need it, but it's no about current editions, nor blu-ray, nor steelbook, like others are usually talking about...

If any moderator thinks that it is better to include it in another thread, or in another subforum, there is no problem in doing so.

Thank you for your help.

I've tried it, but for me it's too much tight...

I'm concerned that being so tight can be damaged by putting it in or taking it out.

It doesn't even come easy, you have to push a little, and that's already a sign.

But I don't think I'm the first collector to have this problem, there will be a solution ...

Precisely, if I have to look for protection solutions to my jewels on DVD, it's because not having protected them in a protective slipcover, although I have taken great care of them, and they don't have the slightest scratch, over the years.... only with that, cardboard degrades, some fade slightly, or just seem old.

Now a lot of Psychos  think about this, but when these precious editions are 15 or 20 years older, if you have not been prudent, you can have a big displeasure, no matter how much you take care of them.

Time passes for everyone.

Even for us.
