My local Walmarts have steelbooks!  None of the fabled $5 steelbooks but still a very positive step.  Thought I’d encourage them, was surprised to see these first two.

Probably saying things most people here already know, but Tippett is responsible for some of the most famous effects work of the last 40 years.  Empire Strikes Back, Jurassic Park, etc.  Anyway, he made a film and I keep waiting for it to show up on my streaming services, never does, but the bullet and bought the disc:

 

 

And just arriving from beautiful Italia because they aren’t selling it in the states yet:

 

 

 

 

 

Saw this at the theater closest to my house, which I don’t go to often because they don’t seem to know how to project a movie properly.  Standard performance when I saw this one; though I still enjoyed the movie I think this may end up looking better at home in 4K than it did in the theater.

First Premium arrival of 2024 and it's definitely underwhelming, though hardly surprising given the images shown prior to its release.

 

It's a bit sad when the highlight of the packaging turns out to be the booklet, especially for such a masterpiece. Could have been a lot better.

From awesome effects artist Phil Tippett, finally made his own film.  I’ve seen nothing like it, though I’m sure it’s not for everyone.  Highly detailed stop animation, dialogue-free, violent and gory as hell.  All kind of strange creations, most of them at least a little creepy.  I was fully engrossed the entire time.

My new stuff of the last 2 weeks A Chinese Ghost Story Blu-ray is limited to 2000 copies and numbered, I have not opend my copy to check but it is supposed to have english subtitles and audio in addition to the orignal language and German.
