Very jealous….the copies I’ve seen available are sooooo expensive….

for asian movies, you have to get edition on pre-order or GB because after the price is too high. and this movie was very expected.

 

there is also a nice edition in europe like this one ... in UK and Germany

Oh I know…I wasn’t a member here at the time of the GB.  I have the Europe edition, but that Plain Archive steel is just ……wow.

Me too. One of the very few blind buys I’ve ever made but I think I won’t be disappointed, both by the series and the package itself. Looks stunning.

If you are a fan of Park Chan-wook’s at all you absolutely will NOT be disappointed.   I can’t wait to see the unedited/directors version with the non-tv friendly material reinserted.

As it came in a protective cover, I decided to open it (shudder) and have a look at the (still sealed) editions inside.   Very impressive lentis and Fullslip.

Listing:

- Farewell My Concubine; UHD, Premium boxed ed. (My 4th and easily my best, edition of this excellent film)

- Jaws; CM, Premium boxed 1click. (I'll certainly be opening this gorgeous box but wanted to get a pic out this eve)

- Rouge; UHD, Premium boxed ed. (I was quite enticed by the accolades this Chinese 'Romeo & Juliet' story received. It looks fascinating)

- WatchMen; ToC, Spec ed Steel. ( I think this is also a 4th edition of this unusual Super Hero tale to adorn my shelves. Supports my New, MP Membership Card TYVM MP!)

- Species; 88 Films, Spec ed. Boxed set. ( All 4 films, with excellent H R Giger artwork for the She-Alien. Easily displaces my older dvd set)

- Love and Duty; WCL, Lmtd Spec ed. ( Fascinated by what is in store viewing this 1931 Chinese melodrama of a woman making poor choices in life. Long thought lost, I understand it was a painstaking process to bring it up to technical standards worthy of a new release. I trust WCL found the results worthwhile.)

I saw your boxset for Halloween, nice one. Personnally, I love the first & second movies from Carpenter, and the last 3 movies with the Jamie Lee Curtis come-back.

But most, I love Rob Zombie movies. His first Halloween is great, but the four hours making of is a masterpiece.

 

Besides my passion for great editions .... I also like to buy movies artbook ... don't know if you're aware & interested, so I'd recommand you check the artbook from TitanBooks editor called ... "Halloween 2018–2022: The Official Making of the Films" will be released in october 2022 or 2023 (I guess it's 2023)

There is some artbooks that's must have, when we love movies ... this one is already on preorder at Amazon UK (Europe) and also "Book Depository"

The fact that the same release can have various finishes is just maddening to me. Here that steel has a gloss coat and debossed title. I can't tell you how much money I've wasted pursuing the "best" version over the years.
