Here again opening some Editions from my Backlog...

 

I got 2 Liam Neeson editions... Love Taken, Haven't seen The Grey, but read great reviews.

 

The Grey Lenti is gorgeous!!... Truly amazing!!... And the Steelbook is even better... What a beautiful edition NM gave us here... A very pleasant surprise... 

 

Taken Lenti is great also, but I think The Grey is better. Same thing with the SB, Fantastic, but the other one is just better. Anyway, another great edition from Novamedia!!... 😎

Also I opened Wiplash from KimchiDVD. The lenti is nice but I don't get that much the effect they wanted to achieve. Looks weird to me. The Steelbook is very nice but disappointed it doesn't have any debossing at least... Not blowned away with this release. I love the Booklet and cards tho...  A nice edition but not great I think.

 

Well, I hope I can keep opening soon!!...

Just thought I'd mention @LeGonze that I'm quite happy to see your purchase of "The Grey".

I quite enjoyed the film, though yes it is a bit fantastical regarding the wolves' activities, heh.

 

That said, when the film first came out in this lovely Nova ed (which I of course had to grab) there was some interesting discussions on a particular Forum board on wolves in general.

I harped in and relayed a short story of one of my experiences with these beautiful and majestic creatures, that I'll share here.

I'll 'spoiler' it so those without interest need not be concerned;  😉

I lived in Yellowknife, North West Territories for 5 years.
Each year, my friends and I would go caribou hunting.
Winter starts early and stays late up there so we used snowmobiles to get to our hunting area. We would break into groups of 2 and go in separate directions.
Bill had a 2-seater sled so I rode tandem with him (less noise with one sled).
Well we dropped 2 'boo just before sundown and it was dark by the time we had them field dressed (gutted) but could not get the damn sled going. We knew it was too dark for our friends to come look for us and we were both experienced outdoorsmen so we built a lean-to and started a fire in a bowl near the tree line. We cut a couple of steaks off one of the 'boo and so ate well.
I guess it was around mid-night we first saw them. Not heard, but saw their silhouettes in the bright moon light.There were about 10 I guess, maybe less, maybe more. They obviously smelled the dead 'boo.
Bill wanted to protect our kills but I explained a few facts to him. We did not know how many or where they all were and we probably couldn't stay awake all night. They would get those 'boo regardless of what we did and I'm not risking my life for a couple of corpses.
So, we moved deeper into the tree line and just watched, keeping the fire between us and the dead 'boo.
It took almost an hour before they finally moved in.
One huge wolf grabbed one of the 'boo and hoisted it as easy as I could a rabbit and ran off with two quickly joining it.
About 15 minutes later, another wolf grabbed the other 'boo and this one was a bit smaller so had a rough time so just started to drag it. He was quickly joined by another that grabbed it off him and ran off with it like a rag doll in a kids arms.
About 10 minutes later, another came in but after sniffing around at the guts, just took off. That was the last we saw of them.
I looked at Bill and he was shivering from far more than just the cold.
We changed location by a few hundred yards, keeping our sled in view and built another shoddy ass lean-to.
and quickly built a fire We took turns sleeping, 3 hours on, 3 off, keeping the fire going.
About 8 in the morning, we heard sleds in the distance and I fired off 3 rounds. waited a minute then fired 3 more. we walked out to the sled and 4 of our friends soon appeared. Ken had spare spark plugs with him that were same type as Bill used so we soon got the sled going. we headed back to camp and had a few Irish whiskey and told our tale.
That afternoon we got 2 more 'boo...

^^ Heh, heh, thanks @Veum however in all honesty, bravery didn't really come to the fore, as we were kinda stuck with our predicament.

 

As Canadian Timber Wolves can easily reach 200 pounds though, they are assuredly quite intimidating.

There have been very few documented tales of people being attacked by wolves but as I had zero interest in becoming a 'statistic', better safe than supper...😉
