mine too even if we’re in the minority.

Between RD and PF, my favorite seems to be which ever one I watched most recently.  But, I have to admit, seeing RD for the first time, and that neo-hipster violence, it was a game changer.   Can you believe it is over 30 years old?   It holds up.

Excited for this one.

For me it's a pretty close call between them. However, I've always felt that Reservoir Dogs was more creative and Vic Vega is my 2nd favourite character from Tarantino after Hans Landa.

I remember my first watch so vividly.  I was visiting my mom in Clearwater FL right around the time it had come out on VHS.  I rented it having probably read about it in Premiere magazine or something.  For only the second time before, or since, the instant the movie ended I rewound the VHS and watched it a second time in one sitting.  I was absolutely floored by the writing, the acting, the staging and the f&^%ing attitude.  “Are you gonna bark all day little doggie, or are you gonna bite??”.

Total game changer indeed.  All killer, no filler and I can’t quiiiiite say the same about PF (I’m looking at you Bruce Willis’ girlfriend).

RD is absolutely top-tier Tarantino.

It’s by far his bleakest movie and the one that features his most realized and fleshed out characters, apart from his definitive masterpiece Jackie Brown which I don’t count as it’s based on another writer’s work.

It still remains as one of the greatest ever debut features by a filmmaker.

The true ranking of QT’s films:

Jackie Brown

Pulp Fiction

Inglourious Basterds

Reservoir Dogs

The Hateful Eight

OUATIH

Kill Bill Vol 1

Kill Bill Vol 2

Django Unchained

Death Proof

I need to rewatch Jackie Brown.  I just looked at my QT rankings and it seems I have it too low.

Very nice list, and I'm thrilled to see someone list the KBs lower.  Man, I don't understand the love those movies get.  His crush on Uma fogged his judgement.  I'm not a hater, but comparatively, they do not compare imho.

For the record, when the first KB came out, I was so enthralled with this movie that I returned to watch it twice more in the same week.

KB2 despite having a couple standout moments was a considerable letdown following its predecessor and the first sign of a filmmaker that was beginning to fall too much in love with his own dialogue.

But ultimately it’s Vol 1 that has suffered most upon subsequent viewings as I came to see it as little more than a very polished homage to Asian action cinema.

Nothing against it, I just like my Tarantinos to have a bit more substance and character depth.

Django is at the bottom of nearly every list posted so far, which comforts me in my belief that it is one of QT's lesser efforts. It is also one of the very few in his filmography (along with both KBs and DP) that I have no interest in adding to my collection.

Django is amazing, not sure what all the hate about it on here is about.
