    Been a busy week between the job and the house. Had a TV delivered for the media room that I keep referencing. Put the stand on the TV, set it up, the corner was cracked. Ordered from Sam’s Club; they have to come get it, refund doesn’t happen until they do, they won’t call and schedule a time. Ugh. I can’t fit this thing in my Hyundai Elantra. If they don’t come get it in a day or two I may have to recruit a friend with a truck and take it to a local Sam’s Club. Not my responsibility but I need it out of my way. Ordered a replacement from Best Buy, whose delivery crew has always been great for me, but it’s not coming until 12/21 (could’ve come sooner but I’m off work that day). Good thing there are lots of TV sales right now.

    Again, this storyboard is so cool. And it’s hard to capture but the lenticular with the approaching truck, headlights appearing to get brighter even, is nice.

    Ok, been too busy to post as they come, here’s this week’s haul. Point Break’s menu won’t load properly on the region free player in my living room, but will on the PS5.

    My copy of Duel just showed up too, was so excited that I ran home at lunch to pick it up and have a look I always play with my toys, so I broke it open and had a loon immediately, Will post pics later. That foldout storyboard is so cool, exactly the kind of dorky movie item that I love.

    Didn’t know there was a steelbook for this one. I have to say, this was maybe my favorite 4K transfer from last year, so good it’s almost like it made the movie itself better.

    He is. I really didn’t like him at first, primarily because I stuck with The Killing for too long and found all of the characters simultaneously dull and hard to be around. But I really like him in For All Mankind which is a great show.

    I finally started watching Slow Horses on Apple+ and it’s great so far. For All Mankind is also an excellent show, though I’m not hearing great things about the most recent season (which I haven’t gotten to yet).

    That’s gorgeous. What edition is that? Who made it? (You may have already said and I missed it in the translation). I’ve been sort of shopping around for a nice version of this movie, there are so many, but this may be the nicest I’ve seen.

    I will hurl money at Miller like that lady in Witches of Eastwick hurled cherries When he’s good there’s almost nothing better. But I’m in that group of people who think Babe: Pig in the City is a masterpiece.

    Sorry, false alarm. There have been rumors (even assurances) all year that this 4K is coming soon and now Umbrella drops . . . a Blu ray set. Sorry folks, it just didn’t occur to me that it wasn’t 4K while we’ve been expecting a 4K announcement for months. Evidently Second Sight is working on a 4K release. Again, my apologies.

    Was listening to the Blank Check podcast about Seven today and wishing, yet again, for some Fincher on 4K. He has verified that he's working on Seven, can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned, but I've heard nothing recently. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/david-fincher-seven-4k-remastering-1235517180/ Given Fincher's notorious perfectionism, it could be years before we see the next remaster after Seven. I would hope for Zodiac or Fight Club.

    Much like it was for humankind, functional plumbing seems like a big step forward Today I purchased (but haven’t installed yet) a washer, and a gas tank (also not installed yet) for our fireplace. We don’t have natural gas, have to put in a tank specifically for the fireplace in the living room. Then I got pulled into a bunch of stuff at work even though I’m technically on vacation (having to burn up all my vacation days because I couldn’t take any earlier in the year) Tonight I realize that in a few hours it will be December 1st. This primarily means, to me, that we’re less than two weeks from having The Warriors in glorious 4K! Can youuuu dig iiiit?? So excited, I grew up in the 80s and revered this movie almost as much as Star Wars, because I was a strange little child
