  1. Nope. I just put "test" in my post from Sunday.
  2. I'm not sure if the problem has been resolved as I'm a little late getting to this but I'm able to edit without any trouble. I also like the format @BreakBeatDJ presented. I'm looking forward to this! I have a letterboxd account but have been horrible at keeping it up to date.
  3. Oof - good on you that you were able to get them to wait that long. We were lucky this year and the first one woke up at 7:10. We used to say the Santa doesn't wrap presents but last year we decided to wrap to avoid "peeking" in the early morning hours. It seems like we might be onto something here.
  4. Anyone else "feel" this thing just by looking at the picture? I don't plan on buying any of these as I'm happy with the releases I have, but I hope they at least deboss the title for those who are interested. Otherwise we may have some early contenders for the worst steels of 2023...
  5. Don't worry. Your secret is safe with me. Excuse me a second...
  6. Merry Christmas to you, my friend!
  7. Very nice setup! I didn't know that they made more upscale versions of them. I've been interested in one of these 1up cabinets for a while. I saw that The Simpsons Arcade 1up went on sale last week and I hear it is one of the better ones to softmod so that you can play many more games on it. I ultimately passed because I couldn't figure out where to put it. Maybe one day though...
  8. How early did the kids wake you up today?? According to my wife, mine woke up several times...unbeknownst to me.
  9. RESERVED (January-June) * = first time viewing ^ = additional viewing January 1/3/23 - Chungking Express* - ★★★★ (HBO Max) A beautifully shot, edited, directed, and performed piece of poetic cinema that immediately grabbed me and did not let go. My first WKW film. 1/5/23 - Another Round* - ★★★ (Hulu) Mads Mikkelsen (and others) absolutely kills it but bogged down by questionable messaging 1/6/23 - Avatar: The Way of Water^ - ★★★★ (Dolby Theater in 3D) Second viewing. The "wow" factor did not dissipate as far as the visuals are concerned. The story dragged a bit though. 1/9/23 - Superbad* - ★½ (Amazon Prime) Unimaginative and just pain boring at times. The usual Rogen drivel.
  10. Man, I'm super jealous of you Europeans. It seems like you all have no issues shipping alcohol to one another thus making the holiday a bit more...joyful.
  11. Lol - good catch. That’s just too funny of a typo to correct
  12. Many, many thanks to my secret Santa, @DParadigm!! I love every single one of these and am glad that I got the opportunity to know you a little better! I can't wait to dive into this cookie... Also, a big thanks to @extantsrevenge, @R1s1ngs0n, @Trianna and all of those those that worked to put this together. This has easily been my favorite event here at MP and I feel so lucky to be a part of this fun and generous community. I'm looking forward to participating again next year! Merry Christmas to you all! -Danny
  13. I'm glad you like it! I wasn't sure if you had the figure or not but I figured, worst case, you could maybe have one for hoe and one for work, lol.
  14. That would be ideal. I would also take a typed out description of the details/finish (similar to Manta). But I dream...
  15. Merry Christmas Eve to you all! It's 40 degrees here in FL!!! We will actually get season-appropriate weather for Christmas this year! Wishing you all a wonderful time with family and friends!
  16. Ah, yes. The eternal struggle of deciding to order from Best Buy or Zavvi in the search for the steel with the better finish continues. It was Best Buy for Lightyear, will Zavvi fight back this time? Stay tuned.
  17. I keep missing some notifications...sorry I'm in a small town on the east coast of FL so I either have to drive to Orlando, Tampa, or Ft. Lauderdale to experience any of the better formats (Dolby, real IMAX). Locally I only have two "regular" theaters and one of which is an AMC located in a dead mall. The theater has recently started to embrace the death and I frequently encounter dying projection bulbs and other issues. The Ft. Lauderdale IMAX is a legit IMAX theater regarding screen size and laser projection but it's a smaller theater in terms of seating and the seats are way too close to the screen imo. It's just physically uncomfortable for me to watch anything there. So, I usually opt for the Dolby theater near Disney World. It's one of the largest Dolby screens in the country and is also one of the few with true dual 4k laser projection. There's also added value of stopping at a theme park or one of the many nearby malls so that I can make a day out of it and better justify the long drive. I've personally only experienced HFR in the theater (Dolby each time) and in 3D so I can't comment on it outside of that setting. I've heard people complain about how it can make some scenes flow a little too smoothly and appear unnatural. I could see how that would happen. I think it's a true gift to 3D cinema - especially action scenes with lots of motion. If I understand correctly, The Way of Water is 48fps throughout BUT Cameron used double frames in slower scenes as a way to "downgrade" those scenes so they appear to be the usual 24fps. I noticed a few instances of choppiness in the film but I can't exactly say what was causing it. It could have been the film itself or the equipment it was running on. Regardless, I find all of this fascinating and would love to find an online class to learn more about this stuff.
  18. Alright, everyone. It's December 23rd and you know what that means... Let's hear those grievances so we can move on to the feats of strength
  19. I just found some of these at Target. Is that a new thing or has it been going on for a while?
  20. Finally got home and was able to travel to the Dolby theater to check out Avatar: The Way of Water. Wow - the visuals are breathtaking to say the least. The story is better than the original but could still use some work - especially the dialogue. I generally avoid 3D films because they seem gimmicky and a bit blurry to me. However, when I saw Gemini Man a few years ago (not such a good movie) I told my wife that I would get on board with 3D if more films used the high frame rate technology. I believe that film was shot at 120fps but presented at 60fps. The 3D was crystal clear and just a joy to watch. I'm happy to see that Cameron went this route and with a more reasonable 48fps. This frame rate combined with meticulously crafted CGI really makes you feel as though you are in Pandora yourself. Well worth the 1.5hr drive each way to properly experience this film 👍
  21. I'm slow to respond here because I've had limited wifi access lately but thanks for putting on such a fun event! I'm pretty happy with how it turned out and I'll happily take my participation trophy Much thanks to you and Eli for keeping me company 🤣
