The more we advance into this tournament, the more I see why I have completely lost interest in this sport. The combination of extremely poor refereeing and that calamity known as VAR has completely ruined this game.

Not only do we get 5 mins pauses after goals being scored because almost every single one undergoes VAR review, but in 90% of these cases, perfectly valid goals have been unjustly disallowed.

The Denmark goal being disallowed upset me to no end. And to make matters worse the same player who scored that goal had the ball barely brush his arm, leading to Germany's penalty.

How exactly are players supposed to completely avoid balls kicked towards their bodies at great speed and from very close range?... by playing with both their hands tied behind their backs? F*ckin' ridiculous!

 

On the whole, Germany deserves to advance to the quarters, but they are a far cry from the dominant teams of the past. They seriously lack edge at the front (a Klinsmann or Völler would convert these opportunities with their eyes closed, burning holes in the net). In general, the quality of strikers in this tournament is the poorest I've seen in a very long time.

 

Looking forward to Spain vs Georgia tomorrow. Should be a cracker. 

England vs Slovakia, on the other hand...

Well said @R1s1ngs0n it is getting ridiculous, we get 5 goals in a Game and only 2 end up being a goal. I mean I was glad Denmark did not get that goal, but it was a laughable decision and the first goal from Germany, what was that, so a player can't stand before another Player anymore, what a joke. In the past we got goals and you could cheer and now you need to wait minute after minute to know what is going on. And what is seen as a foul and what not depends on what now? How the referee feels that day? There is almost no game flow anymore.

 

Also I never have seen a game paused because of the weather 😲

 

But we won

 

Besides did you guys see how I was responsible for the victory of Switzerland. I wanted to bet on them but then I knew doing so would make certain that Italy would win, so I had to take one for the Team to get Italy out of the tournement, at least that plan worked 😃

 

I also realize that winning this Game becomes impossible for me and getting to catch up to you @R1s1ngs0n is also looking more and more like a dream 😭.

Will I end up again at a bad position 🤬?

Very well said ! And there are many more points to mention in the list of shi***!

So many bad and wrong decisions by the referees. How are they selected ? Via Quiz in a shopping mall ? 😄 Cant be !

Regarding "hand" : where the fu** should the players do their hands while running and fighting for the ball or to be in contact with the other player?

The people who made these rules never played soccer themselves. 🤮 Also what you mentioned about the quality of the strikers. Often enough I ask myself what they train day by day as a professional ? I played soccer for over 10 years and with age 10 (!) we were forced to shoot at the goal from edge of penalty box. These so called "Pro" players dont hit the goal from 10 meters. 😄

But...in the end...that's not important anymore. In future it is more important to train to snip the ball from your feet just to a opponent's hand, totally unimportant what the player is doing or where he is looking...just hit his hand, wait for the VAR and then...penality kick !😁 

 

Soccer turned into a fu**ing unimportant game where the result is just made by decisions you cannot trace anymore. How long do they take to find out if it was "offside" or not ? come on, they have a complete judging team and a high-end video-studio. And beside the fact that you always just see a player next to another one and the red "offside" line but you never see the exact point of time when the ball was played. Funny fact, they decide in millimeters if it is "offside" or not but you never see the ball played from the players foot flying away. These milliseconds also decide about "offside" or not. As I have shown my poor screenshots about the goal from Netherlands against France.

 

My conclusion for this match:

Germany was just lucky. We will never know how the match might have ended if Denmark's goal counted...

we (slovakia) were 1 minute away from beating england 😔 (and from my prediction 0:1 for slovakia).

infortunately, we were not able to hold england until the final whistle. 

anyway, still good tournament for us; even when i consider, we should rename our country to "sloVARkia"
