I think it may have sounded 'off' to them because they were initially expecting her original American accent, which she used for the theatrical version of Justice League and Aquaman.

Hey, mate.

 

Yeah, everything's been fine where I am currently. We've just had a few roads and tunnels nearby closed off due to the floods.

 

However, further out west, where a majority of the flooding is taking place, we still have people evacuating as water levels continue to rise.

 

They're expecting the worst of it to be over by Friday.

I can't comment on the accuracy her accent, but I'm one of those that got thrown off by it. "Wait a minute, has she been speaking like that this whole time?!"

Those are actually tower cranes up ahead. Few places under construction right across from us.
