From what I know I don’t think there is a premium release w/4K. The closest you will get is this

Yeah, that's what I was planning on doing as a last resort. I'm familiar with that release, it came out here a couple of years ago.

 

I just thought there might be some edition from Filmarena (FAC edition) that featured the 4K disc that I may have missed or not known about.

I guess it provides me with a good excuse to shelve it (and wait for a potential premium 4K release in the future) and give my wallet a breather for the time being.

yep until the marketing peeps realise and buck there ideas up and do a re realise

You can always do a Franken Edition take the best buts get an open Manics or Manta box and build your own

I too think they have provided us some of the nicest editions on the market, for the titles they release.

For about the past 5+ years, I've been quite enamoured with Asian films, to the point of seeking out the best available editions vice whatever WellGo (bless 'em!) happened to provide.

To that end, I stumbled upon P.A. through advice from a friend and have been a fan ever since.

I'm especially happy you appreciate TTSS, as I'm a big fan of the film (and the older Alec Guiness tv series) and think the PA release(s) are stellar.

Your forthcoming planned watches (which you've no doubt done by now) are all considered (imho) top tier as well.

Thanks! Train to Busan was great but not quite premium worthy for me. After that I did Believer...and I’m still thinking about it. I really liked it! It was thrilling but also had me desperate for a rewatch. So I’m tempted to just scoop that PA release before it vanishes. Handmaiden I’ll probably have to wait a couple of days. My gf comes back into town so that may eat up some time ❤️❤️
 

Tinker Tailor...of movies that confuse me it’s probably at the top of the list. I still can’t explain exactly what is going on but I don’t care. I love the feeling of being lost in the mystery, even on repeat viewings.

I quite enjoyed Train To Busan ( and the accompanying animated Seoul Station) not so much for the Zombie action (which was good) as for the human characters, which I actually cared about in the film.

Something I don't often do in zombie films, heh.

The newly released sequel "Peninsula" I'm a bit nervous about, as the small asstd trailers I've seen, make it out to be a cgi heavy, shaky cam chase event. I'm trying to avoid spoilers and will no doubt purchase the Blu upon release but hopefully it proves more engaging than I anticipate...🤔

 

Believer is indeed, excellent in my estimation.  I was extremely fortunate in receiving PA #0001 of the first spec ed release.  🥰

When they later released the "4K Collector's Box" I of course had to order that as well (though I don't anticipate receiving the same number, heh).

 

It's actually a re-make, (not sure if you were aware) of an excellent Chinese film by the acclaimed Johnnie To, called "Drug War" (2012) which I think is just as good, if not better!

Sadly there is yet no Premium release for it however WellGo has released a very good English friendly amaray of it, avail at most Amazon sites.

Highly recommend you seek it out if you enjoyed Believer, my friend.

Were you able to get either Type A or Type B of the Spec eds?

Not a biggie if not as the film is the important item, of course.

Very excellent film with a couple of nice twists before the end.

 

If you enjoy films with Asian crime syndicates as plot devices, there's a large variety that would no doubt appeal to you.

Take a cruise through the sites at PA, Nova and Kimchi and the brief synopsis they provide, may be sufficient to spur you to learn more about a particular title at IMDB. 🙂

 

And I suppose if you wish for critical advice on a particular film's merits, you can just flag me or a few others here at MP and we can assist. 🙂

I’ll definitely do that! That’s how I watched Busan and Believer. I’ll definitely be seeking out more movies like Believer. I’ll check out those retailers though too. It’s just nice also because they don’t quite make movies like this as often anymore in America. So it felt like a modern throwback to the 80’s/90’s. I really want to start Handmaiden tonight but it’s already late here. So I’ll be going to a book instead 😛
