Good morning/afternoon everybody!

The tweet (...can we continue to call it that?) that is trending right now in Spain: Mick Jagger dancing a reggaeton song at a party, being 80 years old he's on top of his game.

The text says:

"Mick Jagger, at 80 years old, having a great time with Farruko in a nightclub and you, at 40, debating from your couch at home on Twitter if the last album of whoever is indie, rock or mainstream because they have surrendered to the market... hahahaha Anyway, life is for enjoying it."

This has made me reflect on how we sometimes settle for getting old too soon, how we accept everything we don't like as if it were inevitable, as a condemnation; and we let wonderful years pass us by.

Remember this lesson of Mick!

Don't forget it today or tomorrow. Goodbye prejudices. Life is to be enjoyed, happiness is the only thing you will take with you to the other side.

;)

Have a nice day.

Good morning/afternoon.

I'm going to tell you a little story that happened to me recently, linked with movies.

Last week I had to go to Italy for a work meeting. I had to flew to Naples, and from the airport they took me by car to an inland city few hours away.

Sometimes when you go to visit a partner they like to show you the best things about the place where they live, like the most of us do when you have a visit, even being Psychos... ;); and after I finished the job I had the opportunity to see a few places.

One of them was Matera.

Mat.jpg

Here was filmed "The Passion of the Christ", a part of "Wonder Woman", and the first third (the romantic part) of the last James Bond movie.

At another time I also saw Pompeii, impressive place that inspired so much movies, a true travel to another time, and where Pink Floyd fans would love this auditorium:

Pom.jpg

And after that, I had the opportunity to visit Atrani, a pretty village on the Amalfi coast.

Imagine: I'm walking around and seeing the place with two colleagues, and suddenly 🫣 I say to them: "How similar is that fish market to the one in the last Denzel Washington movie!!" (Equalizer 3)

I continue walking, and I look back, and I say to them: - And this view of the street, from here, also looks very similar to one of the movie... what a coincidence...

Earlier this month I commented here that I was re-watching the Equalizer movies before going to see the new one, and I did. I had a great time, in fact I liked it the most out of all of them.

My colleagues hadn't seen it, and I explained to them that in that movie Denzel Washington's character is in Italy.....

... and then... 🤭 it dawned on me: sometimes we have it in front of us and we don't see it!!! then I realized, it had to be the same town!

I ran back to the fish shop which was still closed, and sure enough: inside on the wall there was a picture of the fishmonger with Denzel.

At1.jpg

From there I went back to the whole town, enjoying myself while I identified different places from the movie. Some scenes were shot in other places, you know how they tend to mix locations creating places that don't exist; but most of the exterior shots were filmed there.

This is the square where the cofee was, and where they come to look for Denzel:

At2.jpg

At3.jpg

At4.jpg

And this is the beach at the local dinner party:

Atr.jpg

I finished the day absoltely tired, then to the hotel, early the next morning car to Naples airport and home. But I was so excited to have the surprise of seeing movie locations.

Maybe some of you have done it many times, especially those Psychos who live in Paris, or New York, or LA and others; maybe for you it's usual, but it doesn't usually happen to me.

😍

Have a nice day!

@Casiusco I can only imagine, I envy you that are able to see fantastic places that I’ll never see my friend! :)

BTW, a question if I may ask and pry about you personally, what kind of job do you have and what kinda place do you live in? 🤔

That is absolutely amazing! We try to see filming locations when we can. Especially when we lived close to LA, we saw the Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and the Universal Lots for so many movies.

🤣🤣🤣

Obviously, this is a joke. ;)

I live in Galicia, in the northwest of Spain. A place far from the clichés about Spain: not too hot, not too cold, and here there is no flamenco, our traditional music is Celtic, and our traditional food is based on having very good seafood, good meat, and good vegetables. We eat a lot, more than in other parts of Spain.

The capital of Galicia is Santiago de Compostela, where the Camino de Santiago(=Way of Saint James) ends, and although there are impressive landscapes here, we have traditionally lived forgotten by the world but very happy and proud.

By the way, in addition to Spanish, we have our own language, Galician, very similar to Portuguese, the come from the same root, since when we were the same Kingdom centuries ago. If you ever see "Arrival" again, in one of the first scenes Amy Adams mentions it, as language specialist.

It used to be a region of fishermen and farmers, but now there is industry, and even tourism. Not a summer disco tourism, or going to visit many famous buildings, but a family tourism, of those who want to be quiet, have a beach but not every day, and have good food and good wine cheaper than in other parts of the country.

If you're curious about that, here you have the typical promotional video:

Oh, and I work in a company in the project consulting department. It's not as interesting or as much fun as being a sicario, is it? 😝

I gotta say, Kino Lorber releases continue to knock it out of the park.  Already noted that The Train looks incredible; so does Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.

The detail on the Firebird at the beginning of the movie is almost unbelievable, feels like you’re in the thing.  Reminded me of the cars I spent my childhood in (I was born the year this one came out).  Continues to look awesome throughout.  Ronin and To Live and Die in LA are the two biggest picture upgrades I’ve seen this year, KL just keeps killing it.

Not for nothing, obviously, it’s fun to revisit the movie and it’s even better than I remembered.  Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys hanging out with Clint Eastwood and/or Jeff Bridges.  Eastwood was already 44!  Had the man with no name, High Plains Drifter and Dirty Harry in his rear view and almost 50 years of good stuff in front of him.  Is there anyone who has even come close to making solid movies, including at least a dozen stone cold classics, for so long?

Sorry for rambling; hope to get into Cross of Iron after I get the kiddo in bed tonight.
