I couldn’t deal with people anymore and nixed my Facebook account a few years ago. Haven’t missed it in the least. But then @Fortis93was kind enough to point me toward a custom steelbook group over there. I reactivated just long enough to join, see what a few people were up to, and then deactivated again. 😂  Now I’m thinking I should reactivate, unfriend 99% of my “friends” on there and just stick to following a few boutique labels and some groups until it becomes too much a time sink or buzz killer.

Most of the friends I have on there are other movie lovers from some of the groups. It’s also a good way to connect with some people that may be able to help you acquire something your having trouble getting. That’s how I met the guy who sends me my Taiwan Steelbooks.

This is a good reason! Suppose if I do reactivate, I’ll have to keep my wife on my friends list… :/

It's too bad I was too busy elsewhere and missed on this interesting topic but I will only say that in my opinion, Social Media is the biggest plague of this century.

I quit the toxic cesspool that is Facebook 5 years ago and I neither have Instagram or Tik Tok. I have a Twitter account to keep up to date with certain artists and releases, but that's it.

The sheer amount of stupidity, ignorance and nastiness that has now become current currency on these platforms is more than enough to make one lose all faith in humanity.

That’s why it’s important to either completely avoid social media or at the very least manage your time on there very wisely. Consuming that much negativity isn’t healthy for anyones mental long term.

I’m just on FB to share photos with family and participate in the various movie groups I’m in.  I unfollowed/unfriended all the toxic accounts and friends long ago.

I’m also on twitter but have carefully curated my feed to get my news, sports and media info.  I don’t spend a whole lot of time there though.

Gave up Instagram and am too old for the rest.

2+ pages of conversation in one day! It’s gotta be a record for the English room.

I’m in the same boat as many of you. I’ve never been interested in having a twitter or FB account. I recently created a insta account just so I could look at CM releases and such, but that’s all it’s used for.
