^^ Nice pick ups @Veum 🤩

I very much enjoy Valhalla Rising but find it a difficult film to categorize.

Mads is excellent ( as usual) and the first half of the film had me on the edge of my seat as to where they were going with this.

Unfortunately, it gets more than a little slow and meandering in the second half, once they are on the boat and how the hell they could get that lost is baffling...

Regardless, solid for the most part and I have a couple of editions.

I know you're going to enjoy Parasite and Creepshow 1 🤩

New arrivals from @forenhase, thank you very much!

IT (2017) - Film Arena Black Barons
In my eyes it was about time that a chic premium edition of the film was released! All the better that it has become a Black Barons release right away.
Even though I'm not the giant horror film specialist, I usually judge every movie on its own. And for myself I really liked the new edition of IT! Even after almost 20 years, the stylistic device - to turn the actually funny character traits of a clown into elements of the actual horror - still works. The implementation worked very well in this film, the horror moments are used cleverly without becoming cheap or too predictable. In addition, there is the extremely good design of the Pennywise, as well as the fantastic child actors. All the more I regretted after this absolutely great movie, that the second part made such a complete fool out of the series ...
I also think the edition itself is a success. The goodies in the form of various cards are nice, the postcards from Derry I think are well designed and fit well to the theme of the film. I was a bit disappointed that only the boring WWA made it into the slip. So I swapped it in my edition with the Zavvi release, which I like much better. Luckily the discs have the identical audio and video formats, so I was able to swap the discs in the Zavvi Steel with the much more coherent ones from the Black Barons release. Now the edition is as I want it to be. 😊

^^ Looking gorgeous there @icewire@CAYENNE-FAHRER and @claptraw and thanks very much for your analogy of the redeeming virtues of the  "It" films.

I LOVE Curry but the remake is superior otherwise in many aspects.

I have yet to see Pt-2 of the remake, (yes I own it) as I'm a bit nervous to spin it up after hearing many folks' concerns with it.

I will of course, just need the right mood...heh. 🙂

^^ Beautiful new editions @Veum 🤩

I thought you already had the CftBL glow cover but happy for you if not.

Regarding "Urban Cowboy"

Funny story time;

I flew in with some friends to Houston Texas in the mid 80s, as we were engaged in joint operations with a USAF Sqn there.

Our advance crew were there the day before.

When I took off my helmet and climbed out of the cockpit, a few guys were at the base of the ladder and one shouted out "Grendel's here! We got someone to ride The Bull!"

I had no idea what they were talking about.

That evening, a bunch of us went to "Gillie's Tavern".

Now, this place is MASSIVE and is(was?) actually a series of marquee tents housing a variety of bars inside.

The first clue we were in for some fun, was the peg post at the door with a sign stating "Check all weapons here" and like a coat check, one was expected to hand over any large blades or firearms.

There were a LOT of pistols and revolvers on that peg board.

I'll try to speed this up...

At one location inside, they had a mechanical bull to ride.

With FREE PITCHERS OF BEER for whomever could stay on the full 8 seconds.

Well, after a few glasses of courage, I rode...

1- yes I stayed on the full 8 seconds (so yes, I was a hero to my tribe), and

2- I have never been so sore between my legs, since the day in high-school a team-mate landed on my balls after we collided and fell during a game of >>> Volleyball!.

I was literally, black and blue along the inside of my thighs for a couple of days, which made missions a little more irksome to accomplish...

I don't know how the hell those cowboys do it but a HUGE tip of the 10-gallon to them for their moxy! 🤠

p.s. the next day we were greeted to an incredible sight, a 747 with the Space Shuttle on its' back, taking off and returning to Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Breathtaking! 🤯
