Movies as Background Music

There are movies that I put on while I’m doing other things, like cleaning house or cooking, the way that I would put on music.  Obviously something I’ve seen, not necessarily paying attention the whole time.  Just knowing that every time I look or listen something cool will be happening.  Does anyone else do this with movies and, if so, what are the movies?

I used to do this more often while working, but lately I've switched to listening to film scores/soundtracks. The problem I encountered is I'd get distracted by a playing movie and not get done my other tasks 😆 I'm more apt to put on a TV show when I'm cleaning, folding laundry, etc. and my go-to's for that is Star Trek: The Next Generation and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

 

I do like watching sci-fi movies when I'm playing Kerbal Space Program though. Star Trek, Apollo 13, Apollo 11, Moon, etc.

This is exactly what happens to me 😂. I don’t put movies on anymore unless it’s a task I’m really dragging me feet on and wouldn’t mind procrastinating a bit more. 
 

I also tend to throw on a show instead as I don’t get sucked into them because I’ve seen them so many times. Usually it’s Scrubs, The Office, The Simpsons, Parks & Rec, Seinfeld, or Brooklyn 99.

 

Now, every now and then I’ll throw on a slow paced film when I want to go to sleep. Something like Office Space.

Off the top of my head I've put on the Lethal Weapon 3 soundtrack and just let it play on repeat. Solomon Kane was another good soundtrack in addition to Hard Target. Enders Game has some good background tracks and of course LOTR.

I'm a bit of a fanatic about that, and I play music, but not films. In fact, it annoys me when people are doing various things around me. If I play a film and they don't want to watch it, fine, but if they do.... you have to watch it. Appreciating a film by ear... it's not my thing.
