Also 28 degrees here but our snow was so light (and the ground so warm) that there was only dust on cars.  The wind is terrible though!  No more winter, please, I’d like the 60+ degrees from Thursday back.

My friend down there said it was 68 during the day then that freak storm you guys got dropped the temp's and they got snow. I'm like man Tennessee is whacky weather. Another friend said one day him and the family were sitting around the pool doing bbq high 70s and by 5pm a snow storm was rolling in.

We’re in the Twilight Zone of the Gulf Stream.  I lived in Boston for a while and couldn’t believe how accurate the weather predictions were. If they told you it was going to start snowing at 3:15pm tomorrow, you would almost certainly see some snow flakes at that exact time.  Nothing like that here.

Random note:  I visit MP pretty much exclusively on my phone.  Tonight I'm using the tablet and it's a whole new world.  I haven't been seeing the tags and quotes under people's names.

 

This is a long-winded way of getting to:  love the Walker Percy quote, got me where I lived as soon as I read it back in the day.  Great book.  One of those books that made me feel like I'd finally remembered something in the back of my mind, always there, that I could never quite bring forward.  I love Percy's voice, love having his words in my head.  I probably need to revisit, haven't read any of his stuff in around 20 years (makes me feel old to say that).

 

Can also see that big ol' Platinum tag under my own posts now, which is nice.

I usually visit mostly on my phone too but in desktop mode through the brave browser. The standard mobile view makes the site a little too claustrophobic for me.

Picard is my moral compass, and I love the art, but I wish it was 4K! The TNG films definitely benefit from 4K. Plus I think it’s missing DS9’s “Emissary” which features Picard so technically, it’s not quite definitive. 
 

I’m not going to go for it because I’ve already got all of that content, but I think it’d be a cool display piece nonetheless.

Picard is available in 4K, right?  Weird if SNW is and Picard isn't.

 

Confession: I've really enjoyed SNW but somehow haven't watched Picard yet.

Sadly, no. All three seasons of Picard are Blu-ray only, not 4K. There was a push to try and get Paramount to release season 3 in 4K, but it has yet to happen. Maybe one day…

I've yet to watch Picard but I've heard really good things particularly about season three.

Season 3 was fantastic! Incredible piece of fan service, and an incredible send off for the TNG crew. If we never see these characters again, they got the finale they deserved and were denied on the big-screen. I need to give this a rewatch on disc soon… 😅

That's exactly what people were saying fan service done right and that season 3 was under the control of a guy who not only respected TNG but understood what fans wanted and needed. That's it I'm going to watch it now.

According to Digital Bits, The Conversation is coming out in 4K in the first half of the year.  Exciting!
